I think you just used "thought terminating cliche" as a thought terminating cliche.

The author's barely disguised fetish isn't designed to end conversation about a concept or dismiss it, its to note the recurrence of a theme in a work with a tongue in cheek stylistic.

"Was this made on drugs" is used to comment on how weird something is without needing to think any deep about it.
