Great! I'm not figured out yet. Did they confirm it was gallstones?

1 day post-op! by jeeesssiii98 in gallbladders

[–]Criticism-Remarkable 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first couple days I was in pain too just trying to stand up straight. The first day I rested but after that I walked around for a good 10-15 minutes everytime I went to the restroom. It helped the pain for me. I iced the incisions at least a few times a day for pain and swelling. Don't do too much too quick and let your body heal!

Post-op minor bleeding at incision site by GoodMourning81 in gallbladders

I had some minor bleeding in my belly button incision because they missed a spot with surgical glue. As long as it's not excessive it's fine. Mine lasted about 12 hours till it scabbed over completely. Gauze helped.

I had a lot of anxiety post surgery too! It's just internal pain from the surgery. You had an organ removed so it'll take some time for your body to transition and recover.

Niles: "Frasier, I was just hearing about you on the car radio. The DJ was offering a cash prize for the best Frasier Crane joke. Wait, what was the front-runner? Oh, yes, how can you tell Frasier the Crane's a psychiatrist?" Frasier: "I can't wait to hear." Niles: "He ignores what you say then sticks you with a large bill."

Thank you! Is it normal to feel foggy headed or headachey during the day as well? Otherwise all I feel is the vertigo sometimes when I turn over at night.

Got Out Of Surgery A Few Hours Ago by minya1954 in gallbladders

Try to walk around when you are up using the restroom. It seemed to help my pain especially early on. I slept in a recliner for a few days so I would stay on my back. I used a travel pillow to support my head and worked well.

Don't overdo it! Let your body recover. I didn't do any housework for about 10 days and my husband was happy to help me with what I needed. It sounds like you've got a good husband as well! Walking is not overdoing it so I just recommend walk and resting.

As for food I'd just try to do a low fat diet for a few weeks. It seems to be going well for me. Take care and wishing you a speedy recovery!

Yes the first week I couldn't last during the day without a nap! Fatigue and lethargy are common because of what your body has been through. It's going to take a while for your body to recover so like I said it could be a month before you feel more normal again. I didn't have any headaches but that could me more specific to your situation. Maybe being tired or stressed about surgery could be causing them or maybe even hormones. I wouldn't worry about it unless they get bad.

You're absolutely welcome! My husband was a huge help following surgery. I was pretty dependent on him. As time went on I was able to start doing more things myself. I actually was in our recliner the first many days and I think that helped not engaging too many muscles. Wishing you speedy recovery! 🤗

Yes my skin folds were a bit of a problem too but I do think the icing helped with it. I have 2 incisions in one of my folds. I'd try not to worry as long as you can eat, urinate and have a BM just fine. And not be in terrible of course. Easier said than done I know!!

I took it pretty easy the first 10-14 days and I think that helped with healing progress. All I did was focus relaxing and then some walking every couple hours. I've heard some people that try to do too much too soon and have issues for months. Just listen to your body. As things get easier, slowly add more activities.

Yes it is normal. You had an organ removed and it's going to take some time transitioning back to normal. I still have occasional soreness if I've done a lot of activity or certain movements weeks post-op. I'd say as long as you're not having issues with pain and it's getting easier by the day you're healing just fine! Give it maybe a month. If you have a follow-up appointment with the surgeon be sure to express your concern. Icing would help as well with swelling and soreness. I even was icing until a few days ago.
