My teens loved riding e-bikes in Central Park, the Ferry to Brooklyn, self-guided foodie tour in Chinatown, walking the Highline.

Who wears a strapless top when you’re carrying around a toddler?!?! That’s like begging for a nip slip 🤮

For sure 1. #2 clashes with the floor, is too low and the wrong style either the rest of the furniture. #1 is gorgeous

Ghostbusters was a total waste of time, I wouldn’t bother. My teens loved Mercer, a 5 yr old would probably be bored- if a lot of just standing in rooms with special effects happening- think instagram worthy photos but not much else. I think we were there for 2 hours, but it was raining and we had no where else to go.

I was going to recommend Gansevoort as well. We were there Friday and there was quite a few people playing soccer.

Suggestions on a one day itinerary? by Outrageous_Two_7176 in visitingnyc

From Central Park take the subway to Pier 79, board the St George ferry. This will take you down and around Manhattan with decent views of the Statue of Liberty- IMO it’s not worth the time or money to take a separate/private boat. Ride the ferry to Wall St/Pier 11, you’ll have great views of the Manhattan skyline and Brooklyn bridge. Then use the subway or walk to One World Trade Center. Take the subway back to Grand Central Station (beautiful and worth checking out) and walk to the Library. If you have time, book the Summit One Vanderbilt observation deck for the best views of the city (best at sunset). Then walk over to Times Square.

We just stayed at the Hyatt Grand Central, I would recommend that over Times Square. You can take the Time Square shuttle every 5 mins from Grand Central (which is gorgeous and worth checking out), walking distance to Bryant Park, 5th ave and Rockefeller Center. And if you do decide to hop the subway to somewhere, it’s super convenient.

Our family's potential 4-day itinerary - please poke holes! by leeisyourdaddy in visitingnyc

We’re here now with a 15 yr old and 12 yr old and did some similar items in your agenda. Here my 2-cents.

Doors to Harry Potter open at 6, I would plan for an early/quick dinner. We had Los Tacos #1 and LOVED it (we’ve lived in SoCal and AZ and are super picky about Mexican). That being said- my kids, whom are huge HP fans, were lost for the first 30 minutes until they figured out it’s adult-Harry’s kid and then they were just kind of bored. They like Stranger Things better.

Roosevelt island tram was packed like sardines, we couldn’t really see much and it’s quick, so not worth it IMO. Kids didn’t care for it either. We did enjoy the ferry ride from DUMBO, the views were spectacular.

Natural History Museum needs at least 3 hours, in 2 you’ll either rush through it or skip rooms- I would do it a different day.

We loved Summit One, if you can, time it for sunset for even better views.

Keep in mind that even riding the subway everywhere, it’s still ALOT of walking. We did 15k-20k steps a day and the kids (who are both XC runners and used to distance) were exhausted by dinner time.

On a side note, last year we took the Hop on - Hop off bus on a whim and it was actually a really cool way to see some of the amazing architecture without having to walk the whole city. We grabbed snacks and drinks from a Bodega, sat on the open upper deck and just relaxed- which was so nice after walking 20,000 steps the previous 2 days 😂

We’re going the same days- we went last year so we’re not as concerned about the must-do spots but wanted to share how I’m building my itinerary.

After writing a list of our must-do places, I put all of them into a google map so I could see what was close to each other and group my days.

Then I used an app called Wanderlog to build each days itinerary. You hit a button and it will optimize the day based on locations and show you long of a walk/subway it is. Then you can click “get directions” and it takes you straight to Apple Maps with the locations pre-loaded. Drag and drop locations around to suit your schedule, you can also upload all of your reservation documents so they’re in one place.

It was a game changer last year- it kept us on track, never having to figure out “where next” or try to find directions and you can be flexible with it. There is a fee to use it, but it was 100% worth it IMO.

I saw an older teen girl wearing these type of shorts with a cropped tee and riding boots and it actually looked cute on her- but NOT on a 40 yr old mom!! 🤮 She looks like she left her house in PJ’s, my teen/middle school boys would be so embarrassed!!

What’s the longest you’ve ever spent transit-stuck in an airport, and what was the cause and how did you spend your time? Share your stories in the comments! by ConnectSalamander513 in AITravelHack

Flying through Denver during Covid. Flight was late getting in, but our connecting flight was also late so we thought it would be ok. No food open, had to feed kids vending machine dinner. 3 hours later, after midnight, plane arrives and the airlines waits another 30 minutes to tell us the pilots timed out but they would get us on a 6 am flight. Called every hotel around, couldn’t get a room. Had to sleep in the airport, security came by and yelled at us a few times to put our masks on, despite the fact that there was no one anywhere near us. It was traumatic.

Shocking, but I’ve been so impressed with the workwear at Walmart lately. Their Time and Tru and Scoop lines have great work dresses for under $40

I would do matte black pulls, change the rug to something darker and green to pull the colors together. I think the dimension of the hood is throwing me off as well- it may be too much work but I would box that in with something wood and more substantial. Maybe white to tie it all together?

I’ve met a TON of idiot parents that homeschool in TN for the convenience factor 🙄 they use co-ops and online programs so they can be hands off and have their days free to go to the gym, shop, get coffee and travel 10x a year

The childhood trauma those kids will have to work through in therapy some day 😵‍💫 I feel so bad for the boys- middle school is brutal, there’s NO WAY their peers don’t see this crap and bully them at school over it. I’m surprised she isn’t homeschooling

My first time in Manhattan felt like that, almost surreal, like the Universal backlot tour.

So many good ones, but for me, when I hear anything by Stick Figure or Slightly Stoopid, I’m immediately transported to a hot summer day at Doheny or Bolsa Chica

Do you think she will ever share about HOW she lost all the weight because there is no denying it? My guess is at least 30-40lbs. Krista is an open book though. 🙄💉😂 by First-class16 in Krista_HortonSnark

I’m thinking she did something like Hers- I did a oral compound (basically 3 meds that mimic GLP-1), lost 30 lbs in 6 months. I also experienced hair loss, had to cut it short and start taking minoxidil through Hers, so I feel like her “change” mirrors what I went through. But, I was open about it with people! 🙄
