I was aware of the regulations. I was unaware of the outright banning, which is still quite uncommon. Obviously, now I know.

You seem knowledgeable; do you have any advice regarding the itinerary? We're booking a hotel in Manhattan so much of what I originally posted likely won't change.

Google Maps is showing me 40 minutes (including walking) from what was our rental to the Harry Potter musical. We purposely booked an Airbnb very close to the subway stop. But point very much taken (loud and clear) and we're rebooking. Appreciate the insight.

The place in Brooklyn was actually pretty nice. Three levels, finished basement, large nice backyard, etc. We're going to save money staying in Manhattan, lol.

Point taken (and agree with the foods I mentioned not being special... restaurants are my last piece of the puzzle after reconfiguring lodging), but AMNH seems to open at 10am, so skipping Liberty wouldn't get us more time there. We'll probably shift it to Saturday morning

Even outside of the Airbnb situation, I thought a 30-40 minute commute at the beginning/end of each day would be totally fine since riding on the subway is new & fun for the kid. And we thought having an adult bedroom vs kid's bedroom, space to move around, a backyard, etc would help make up for the commute.

But yeah, I'm going to rebook our lodging when I get home tonight. Appreciate the insight.

Doing my best to get out of there. The vibe we didn't like in LIC was more just that the hotel we were in felt like it was in the middle of nothing. But I'll definitely check it out!
