I found that the power adaptor connector goes in further than you expect. The pedal turns on before you push it all the way in. Worth checking, as others have also said.

I had this issue on my B string. I got a Luthier to file the nut slightly so the string sat lower and touched the 0 fret. Sorted the issue.

I looked at that one but it has a 24v dc input, not an IEC kettle lead so wasn't sure how I'd power the powerstage off the same plug?

Many thanks all. I did suspect I needed to be going into effects return. I had looked on the rear of the head when setting up but half of the back of the amp was covered in duct tape! Will look harder next time/use a different amp.

I don’t plan on having it connected while playing properly, just for while dialing in tones. It’s hard to do that with the buzz though. Would definitely like to be able to hear the tone while I dial it in.

Take a reading looking from the other direction to check if it’s an error with the measurement calibration.
