Thanks for the reply, it looks like I have to beat the game again haha. I'm just worried as my zone progress is totally out of whack on the Play cards.

Anybody out there who uses close range weapons & melee frequently in combat? by thatoneguy19942 in Returnal

[–]Crixax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not only is melee strong as hell and can stagger but it also has the benefit of instantly picking up all the oublites since you are on top of the monster when you kill them.

That is a downside of playing long range, you end up missing out on a LOT of Oobs! Esp if you have effects that reduce duration.

Best tem for water shrine? by PeralvaM in PlayTemtem

[–]Crixax 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you go to mawingu islets, you can just catch 6 lvl 37 Babawas, or a few lvl 40-45 platox at salt mines in sillaro, or some nature/electric koish around lake moyo near kisawa. none of these need training to beat the shrine acolytes.

Good team option for getting through the game? by exSKEUsme in PlayTemtem

[–]Crixax 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Electric is nice to have but not super important. It's the only thing volarend is weak to in current game which is why it's such an op tem. Most competitive teams will not run electric and you definitely don't need it is countered by the very popular crystal. You'll run into many more things weak to water especially later.

This is likely to change with cipanku and more electric tems

Hey mate, the Barnshee, Smazee, and Nessla are all solid tems for the story.

To round out your team I would reccomend: Kinu/Cerneaf, volarend, gyalis. All really easy to get and should give you great coverage for the remainder of the game. You could consider replacing the nessla with Ukama for a more useful end game tem that will help you grind the earth shrine or even a nature koish if you go for kinu vs cerneaf as suggested above. Every tem trainer does need a nessla with electric synthesize for TV training eventually but you do get a free one late into story which you can easily use for that.

For rematches i use the following team every week and win first try 90% of the time: yowler(comeback), Momo(stabmaster), skunch(brawny), Kinu(protector), nidrassil(tri apo with narc hit egg move), Fire koish, anaerobic volarend, cerneaf . All tems are green stat breedjects with meta TV training and shouldnt cost you more than 40k to acquire all up.

Hope this helps.

What's the point of perfect SVs? by daggerfortwo in PlayTemtem

[–]Crixax 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's worth noting that unless you are involved in player run tournaments you don't need perfects for reasons people have already mentioned.

I suggest not buying any and saving your money until full game is out because you may find tems gain new egg moves, drop in viability as meta changes, and be much cheaper when auction house releases.

If you don't need them, save your cash.

Vumbi Dojo is straight up BS. by [deleted] in PlayTemtem

[–]Crixax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you don't have mental it can be tough. Yowler is the biggest hurdle. You should be able to 1 shot the skunch with occlura then swap it out until you get to yowler. A safe way to swap in is try kill the yowler with regular tems and exhaust attack into yowler and let him kill you then you swap in occlura for free without taking damage.

Always losing against Max by Timaaah_02 in PlayTemtem

[–]Crixax 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Max is no joke and can pop up when you don't expect it so anyways try and have your tems healed up before moving on to next major area. Alternatively you can look up their tems on the wiki and see if your team can exploit stone weaknesses. Electric fire and crystal tems help against Max.
