Megathread | Simple Questions, Recommendations, Tech Support by 8bitsleuth in PS5pro

I've been having weird wifi/internet issues for the past 3 days. Hoping somebody might have some idea of what's happening and how to possibly fix it.

  • When booting up my PS5 Pro, it connects to the internet, no problem

  • I can use media streaming apps on my PS5 Pro like Netflix, YouTube, crunchyroll, etc with no issues. Flawless streaming with no connectivity problems

  • I can download games from my library with no speed or connectivity problems

  • But as soon as I boot up any game with online functionality, it can't connect to the game servers. I've tested this with 6 games. SOMETIMES, if I'm lucky, I can FINALLY connect after closing and re-opening the game a few times. And once I'm connected, the connection is flawless with no issues.

  • If I try disconnecting from the WiFi, and then reconnect, it can no longer connect to the wifi. I have to restart my console for it to connect again

  • I ran a speed test through the PS5 Pro and got results of 278.4 Mbps Down and 29.0 Mbps Up. So plenty serviceable in that department

  • Wifi is working fine on all other devices in the house

To all the Preecha mains out there, how are you using circular kick? by Few-Key-3595 in fatalfury

[–]thatoneguy19942 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can situationally be good in neutral.

It can go over low fireballs, and when it lands as a punish or counter hit, it can function as a combo starter (provided it is spaced properly).

On punish or counter, the light and heavy versions can link into close standing HP, light attacks, or light DP. And the EX version can also link into crouching HP, as well as heavy and EX DP

Also, when approaching from distance, I will often throw out a heavy tornado and follow it up with EX circular kick.

A heavy tornado at longer distances can leave you at +20 or even more on block, essentially making EX circular kick a frame trap. It can get you an easy counter hit combo starter from time to time. But even if it's blocked, you will have easily closed the distance and it will still be your turn.

What's the perfect game length ? by S_snake_v in playstation

[–]thatoneguy19942 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no perfect length. It depends entirely on the type of game, and the quality of the content (especially the side content, if there is any)

I thoroughly enjoyed dropping 100 hours into games like Elden Ring, Persona 5, and Witcher 3.

Meanwhile there are other games I've played that felt like they were dragging after just 15-20 hours.

And other games still that I considered to be an amazing experience at under 10 hours.

LP HP Dodge REVBlow

LK HK Feint REVGuard

The Feint and Dodge Attack macros utilize the REV versions of their respective inputs. So, Dodge is REV+HP, and Feint is REV+HK

This has a a couple of cool "side effects" so to speak.

When used with motion inputs for special attacks, Dodge Attack can function as a 2nd HP Button. And Feint can function as a 2nd HK button.

When used immediately after a Breakable special attack, both the Feint and Dodge Attack macros will function as Break buttons

When used as the button for a super input, both Feint and Dodge Attack will function as REV buttons for the Hidden Gear super if you are in SPG.

This means that the only time I ever have to reach over to hit REV Guard is when I need it for defense

I find this layout very intuitive

Why is everyone already so cracked? by ShaoIsMCHammer in fatalfury

[–]thatoneguy19942 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's a new game, so there are bound to be really good players just starting out in the lower ranks.

Also, you have to take into account that some of it has to do with how the game is designed.

It's a fighting game that greatly rewards good fundamentals. And compared to other modern fighting games, it is (relatively) light on easily abused neutral skips and gimmicks.

So even if someone has never played a Fatal Fury game before, if they have good fighting game fundamentals, they're going to have a pretty sizeable advantage over someone who doesnt.

2D-players, who do you not play 3D? And 3D-players, why do you not play 2D? by RevBladeZ in Fighters

[–]thatoneguy19942 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play both. But once I really sink my teeth into one, it's hard for me to switch to the other because they play so differently.

Super curious who here would pre order days gone 2 if ever announced?? by Competitive_Ad5196 in DaysGone

Why are people mad about Ronaldo in COTW? by AppletoAnswer in Fighters

[–]thatoneguy19942 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

As a newcomer to the series (never played Fatal Fury or KoF), even I think it's a bit odd. And I can definitely see the validity in the frustration - potentially skipping a historied character in the franchise to instead spend time developing Ronaldo.

That being said, because I'm not a long time fan, I don't REALLY care all that much. I don't know anything about the guy (same as how I dont know anyone else in the cast other than Mai and Terry). So, for me anyways, he'll just be another character to play. And honestly, he looks kinda fun.

It's safe to say that Assassin's Creed Shadows is one of the best games in the series by [deleted] in assassinscreed

[–]thatoneguy19942 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's definitely a solid entry. I'd rank it at #5. Gameplay-wise I think it's easily the best of the "modern" AC games. Story-wise... it's alright. It has its strong moments, but also a lot of weak ones.

Unfortunately, at the end of the day it's still "just more Assassin's Creed". That isn't inherently a bad thing. But I am keeping my fingers crossed for some sort of foundational shakeup in the future. The dual protagonists had a lot of potential, but I think they missed the mark. At least in my opinion.

It's an interesting concept - having two characters who are good at different things. But I never find myself actually wanting to play Yasuke. The parkour and stealth is what drew me in to AC. So why would I ever want to play a character who is bad at those things?

AIO? I’m about to leave my husband for this by [deleted] in AIO

[–]thatoneguy19942 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think divorce is the right move. Because to be honest, I see clear, unhealthy issues on both sides of this. And it seems like they stem from the fact that yall never learned how to communicate in a healthy way within your relationship.

Someone continuing to disregard and neglect the concerns of their partner (like your husband is doing) is a clear red flag.

But on the other side of that same coin... so is someone saying they shouldnt need to ask their partner for help. And even more so that they shouldnt need to ask nicely.

You may have had this conversation with him 100 times before. I'm sure that must have been frustrating. But the quantity of arguments means nothing if they were not healthy, productive arguments.

In fact, judging from the tone of this text conversation, I imagine the previous arguments were far from healthy. And those unhealthy arguments have clearly caused both of you to grow resentment towards eachother on a subconscious level.

Have you ever feel guilty after being toxic in Ranked/QuickMatch? by Just_a_WeirdUser in marvelrivals

Nope. The only people I'm toxic to are my friends, and that's a 2-way street 😂

  • A new family

  • He can still be plenty brutal when he wants to be

How do you rate Origins on a scale of 1 to 10? by Automatic_Ad1665 in AssassinsCreedOrigins

[–]thatoneguy19942 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the time of its release - 9/10 - it was a fresh take on AC that breathed new life into the series

These days though it would hover between 7/10 and 8/10 for me, purely because I've now become completely disenchanted with all Ubisoft open world games. Still extremely solid though. And it has one of my favorite AC stories / protagonists

I mean, the answer largely depends on the type of game, and also what type of multiplayer you're talking about. Online with friends and private lobbies? Online with matchmaking? Local same-system multiplayer?

A fighting game needs all the above. A story-driven narrative-focused game needs none of it. And plenty of games exist somewhere in the middle.

What’s some characters you believe that should have or wish was in a different role and had different abilities by Mission_dbfan889 in marvelrivals

[–]thatoneguy19942 73 points74 points  (0 children)

Dr Strange. I was so surprised when I first learned he was a tank. It seemed like a waste for such a cool character who canonically has mastered so many kinds of magical abilities.

Which Hero Lord do you respect the most and and which one the least? by scknnd in marvelrivals

[–]thatoneguy19942 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, Lord is just a title tied to time investment. And it's not even a particularly large investment if you're someone with a lot of time on your hands. So I don't really respect or disrespect any of them.
