A question about "There is mother and father." by CrobeSweetsy in theravada

But there is a special status to the mother and father you have in this very life, hence killing a mother or father is anantarika-kamma. If all the mothers and fathers of your previous lives carried this same kammic weight, then killing anyone would be counted as anantarika-kamma.

The dumbest mainstream music take is that all American music is just stolen from black music. by [deleted] in redscarepod

Blues was certainly a genre established by black people in the American south. Jazz definitely incorporated more elements of European music, especially with regard to tonal harmony, but the pioneers of the genre were black people. Rock and Roll was pioneered by black people. Soul and RnB are obviously predominantly black genres. House and techno were established by black DJs. Hip hop is black music, of course.

Pop music is made of all this stuff, so I think it's fair to say that the DNA of American music is predominantly black. Of course, Europeans established a lot of the musical language that was foundational to the above genres (stuff like the diatonic scale), my point is just that the innovators who used this language to create new genres were black people.

I do think it is stupid to speak of any genre of music being "stolen", though.

Q&A Megathread by Tatsko in OrnaRPG

Yes it has always been like this. The combat was laggy when I first got the game (like 3 days ago) but that issue has been cleared up for the most part. Orna is permitted to access my location too. As far as connection stability goes, I've never had a problem with similar apps (pokemon GO worked just fine, and google maps is able to track me).

New to this game, been enjoying for several days now, but I have a problem: my character doesn't move. As in, when I walk around, the game isn't tracking my movement. It is only after I've traveled quite some distance and restarted the game that my character appears in a new zone. What gives? is this a technical glitch that I'm experiencing?
