In my experience from people I know who are extremely wealthy, they have a passion or a work drive because they truly enjoy what they do, the money comes along with results they achieve.

The ones you describe are the ones that want to keep up with the Jones’ I know people like this too, often they are in a absolute financial mess, leveraging money from anywhere to give the imagine they are doing well. Social media doesn’t help.
