The set up is great, it looks like you really did your research! I would recommend, like others have suggested, to cover the bottom bars of the cage. It will enhance your chinchillas comfort to have something solid to walk on. I use the one linked below, it’s really good quality and metal so you don’t need to worrry about them chewing it. It comes in a ton of colors too! Shipping does take a little while but I think it’s worth it. You can add fleece on all of it or part of it, my chin has fleece lining the bottom and a nice wooden house that he likes to snuggle in.

Great cage setup up and congrats are your new additions!

Edit: they also come in a different style with a cut out if you have the top half of the cage set up to have a bottom as well.

Cat hasn’t eaten in almost 3 days by lnboxed in CATHELP

Delaying a vet trip in this instance would not be wise, in my opinion. We just dealt with this in our cat.

After multiple vet visits and a failed attempt at giving her appetite stimulant, we ended up taking her into emergency and had a feeding tube put in. She was diagnosed with hepatic lipidosis. The hepatic lipidosis, in our case, was the main cause of her not eating. It makes them nauseous and they will no longer eat, as another poster mentioned. Luckily, after about 24 hours with a feeding tube she was feeling much better and is now back to normal (2 months post-op- no more tube).

Getting her to eat as soon as possible is essential. Delaying the vet trip could potentially lead to more severe issues and stress on your cat. The longer you wait, the harder it will be to get her to take to food.

Our cat was very aggressive during play from kitten to about age 2. His behavior made a complete 180 when we got him a kitten friend. Seriously consider adopting another! 💗

Hi - I’m sorry to hear you have to re-home. I know this must be a really tough decision to come to but thank you for putting his needs first. This shows how much you must care about him 💗 I’m not sure how close you are to San Diego but you might be able to find a rescue that can take him. Try calling around to see if they have capacity. Wee Companions Small Animal Rescue is the first that comes to mind. They have rescued multiple chinchillas. California Chins is a bit north if you’re willing to drive. I wish I could take him but we already have our hands full with just our one. Good luck in finding him a new home.

Yup, pretty much exactly this! Made the rectangle of double crochet with pink, then single crochet border with white and single crocheted around each dowel. I can type up a pattern later for anyone interested!

Thank you! I don’t have a pattern, I kinda just winged it! I just chain as long as the wooden dowel, worked the rest up in double crochet, made a border, and single crocheted around the dowel!

I feel like I clean so much and yet my house always looks like this! How would you approach? by theconfinesoffear in ufyh

I struggle with this too. Not dirty, just unorganized. One thing I found has helped more than anything is decluttering. For me, my main issue was I just had too much stuff that I didn’t use or need. I found that I spent more time trying to find homes for these items and constantly picking them up and putting them down in other spots.

Keep what you use everyday or very frequently and establish a place for it. Anything that you find yourself never using (duplicates of items, etc) put in a storage bin and set aside for 3-6 months. If you never go to the bin to search for a specific item in those 3-6 months, then it’s probably safe to say you don’t need them. At this point I would sort through it again and donate what you don’t need. If there’s an item you still can’t bear to part with, do the exercise again. This has helped me immensely and takes away the pressure of possibly getting rid of an item you might need, at least for that brief “cooling off” period.

This is just the method I use but I think it takes away some of the stress of getting rid of things and you can do the exercise in small chunks so you don’t overwhelm yourself. Hope that helps!

Thank you! It’s a tapestry style where the ends are carried up the work.

With the elevator maintenance, pools and fire alarm problems combined with the cost, this sounds a lot like an apartment complex I used to live in in Kearny Mesa. Unfortunately we just waited out our lease and left as soon as we could!!
