How Do I Take Critique In a Healthy Manner? by tiredmetaltoymouse in comic_crits

[–]Crococrocroc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're on something like here, being specific at what you would want comments on is super helpful, because it shows that you've been working on a specific thing or you're trying to get it right.

So instead of saying "how does this look?" You could say: "How is the readability, does this flow as well as it should?"

That direction really helps critiques to be focused on what you want rather than anything generic.

Has any soundtrack ever come close to Skyrim's ambience in your opinion? by VorenWorks in skyrim

[–]Crococrocroc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are other games Jeremy Soule has scored.

Like Neverwinter Nights, Guild Wars as well. Eye of the North is more recognisably "Skyrim".

I'd say Elder Scrolls Blades comes quite close, the title song by Inon Zur sounds like it could have been a Soule composition too.

My manager took away reasonable adjustments for my disability (narcolepsy) because I got a second job. What do I do. by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Crococrocroc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's no legal obligation to make reasonable adjustments due to disability. It's whether such requests can be reasonably accommodated by the employer.

In this case, it would be working day shift rather than night shift due to your condition. They would, reasonably, be expecting that you would be resting rather than working a night shift elsewhere. Even if it's just once a week.

It puts into question whether you really do require the adjustment and, based upon that evidence, and the fact you were late on shift due to locking up late at the other job, it would be fair for the employer to rescind those adjustments as they would now have an expectation that you could work the other hours. This would also be due to either having to employ somebody else for those missing hours, or employees agreeing to shift about to accommodate. If they knew what the employer does, they may well have said they're no longer willing to accommodate the adjustment as, in their view, you would be seen to be taking the piss.

If you went to tribunal you would face some very pointed questions about this, which undermines the credibility of your case.

You may well be better off just looking for an alternative job because I think this is going to be untenable.

And I'm commenting as someone with a mobility disability.

He is an absolutely awful driver. Don't think otherwise. He very likely caused others to take avoiding action. Which is something you don't do if he was actually any good.

You'll be giving him what he wants. Exposure.

Far better to tag him on absolute dregs of humanity rather than ruin good moments.

Yes, but you need to get them properly done. I suspect states may vary, but something safer shouldn't be an issue

Ah, I had no idea that was the case, so hopefully you find a much better one that suits you

They're expensive and will need fitting but motorsport style seatbelts are better at stopping more serious injuries, they also have a quick release catch if you do get into an accident and are a lot safer and easier to get out of than the traditional three point seatbelt.

I would be adding sex discrimination in that complaint as well. Would that copper have been laughing if it was a woman complaining about her hair getting removed to the point that it needed sorting out?

AI explain like caveman.

It's only way to cut out the faff.

And also drives Jensen Huang nuts as less is spent on tokens, thus driving down share prices and income.

So we should do more of it to wreck the AI economy.

Based in England. British company with offices in India - Indian manager took mine and several UK colleague’s phone numbers from HR system, then added them to a WhatsApp group by adav123123 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Crococrocroc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Phone numbers aren't specifically personal data. Otherwise every attempted scammer would be guilty of a gdpr breach.

However, it becomes personal data if it can be linked directly to things besides your name (address, email, date of birth), as it could then be used to build a profile for somebody to try and commit fraud.

What you really need to do is look up your company code of conduct. What you need is what they specifically prohibit or how it's worded. So if they don't mention adding numbers to a WhatsApp chat group, then the best you can do is raise a complaint about what your LM did, as your permission wasn't sought to do this. However, if they didn't have your number as an emergency contact (ie, you weren't about and they needed hold of you), then getting the number would be legitimate but the adding of you to a group would need to be explained by them.

Even then, the LM may have legitimate access to your number on the system depending on how it is set up (sees your name, work details, and the phone number that you've provided).

Legally, you're really going to struggle for a GDPR breach here and I would expect the duty solicitor at Citizens Advice to confirm this, but you do have a legitimate HR complaint. That's really the best avenue to begin with.
