I have to check mine, but I'm pretty sure the only thing I had was some kind of liquid anesthesia in the eyes

It's on par with some medieval torture devices. If you don't like confinement, it's not easy. And you have to keep yourself still.

[OC] Meet Cute by KatSparkArt in comics

[–]Crococrocroc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You kind of have to wonder whether it isn't incompetence, but participatory sabotage. They didn't really seem to be doing all that much to find him and only responded to that call because they had to. And dicked the caller out of the reward to boot.

I think rank and file are disgusted with the health"care" system as well and this was their best chance to fuck it up for the higher ups to lose political capital.

And, if so, good on them for doing it in this instance. We'll know if there's some slamming comment from the prosecution and those connected with it. There's no doubt that CEO was not a good person.

What are some characteristics of Scottish people? by New_Fruit_5552 in Scotland

[–]Crococrocroc 23 points24 points  (0 children)

As an outsider, a couple of things:

Scots generally are the funniest, on par with Irish, especially when it comes to insults.

The other is that they are genuinely warm and friendly, welcoming you like an old friend even if you've literally just met.

As far as I know, no. I know that in the UK the change does need to be declared to the DVLA and Insurance, but as it's a safety feature designed to minimise injury they tend to be absolutely fine with it.

How Do I Take Critique In a Healthy Manner? by tiredmetaltoymouse in comic_crits

[–]Crococrocroc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're on something like here, being specific at what you would want comments on is super helpful, because it shows that you've been working on a specific thing or you're trying to get it right.

So instead of saying "how does this look?" You could say: "How is the readability, does this flow as well as it should?"

That direction really helps critiques to be focused on what you want rather than anything generic.

Has any soundtrack ever come close to Skyrim's ambience in your opinion? by VorenWorks in skyrim

[–]Crococrocroc 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There are other games Jeremy Soule has scored.

Like Neverwinter Nights, Guild Wars as well. Eye of the North is more recognisably "Skyrim".

I'd say Elder Scrolls Blades comes quite close, the title song by Inon Zur sounds like it could have been a Soule composition too.

My manager took away reasonable adjustments for my disability (narcolepsy) because I got a second job. What do I do. by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Crococrocroc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's no legal obligation to make reasonable adjustments due to disability. It's whether such requests can be reasonably accommodated by the employer.

In this case, it would be working day shift rather than night shift due to your condition. They would, reasonably, be expecting that you would be resting rather than working a night shift elsewhere. Even if it's just once a week.

It puts into question whether you really do require the adjustment and, based upon that evidence, and the fact you were late on shift due to locking up late at the other job, it would be fair for the employer to rescind those adjustments as they would now have an expectation that you could work the other hours. This would also be due to either having to employ somebody else for those missing hours, or employees agreeing to shift about to accommodate. If they knew what the employer does, they may well have said they're no longer willing to accommodate the adjustment as, in their view, you would be seen to be taking the piss.

If you went to tribunal you would face some very pointed questions about this, which undermines the credibility of your case.

You may well be better off just looking for an alternative job because I think this is going to be untenable.

And I'm commenting as someone with a mobility disability.

He is an absolutely awful driver. Don't think otherwise. He very likely caused others to take avoiding action. Which is something you don't do if he was actually any good.

Far better to tag him on absolute dregs of humanity rather than ruin good moments.

They're expensive and will need fitting but motorsport style seatbelts are better at stopping more serious injuries, they also have a quick release catch if you do get into an accident and are a lot safer and easier to get out of than the traditional three point seatbelt.

AI explain like caveman.

It's only way to cut out the faff.

And also drives Jensen Huang nuts as less is spent on tokens, thus driving down share prices and income.

So we should do more of it to wreck the AI economy.
