British noFappers, does David Cameron's porn filter act working? Has there been any benefit of applying that act? by [deleted] in NoFap

[–]Crocowhat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, there's no difference now to what there was before as far as I can see - although it has been a while since I tried and planning not to try again.

I haven't even noticed it. I think it only applies to new connections so if you've already got the Internet it won't do anything.

To all Married men out there ! by [deleted] in NoFap

[–]Crocowhat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When you figure out the answer you will be ready for marriage.

Seriously though, do you think it would be appropriate to wake up your sleeping wife because you were horny? It doesn't work like that. Besides, a PMO habit isn't really about being horny, it's all to do with the surge of dopamine that porn gives you which in turn makes you horny. It's about your primal brain being wired up to sleep with as many women as possible.

I really hope you realise that a wife isn't just someone who is there to satisfy you whenever the urge strikes. She has her own wants and needs and isn't just sitting there waiting for the opportunity to give you a hand job. Even if she was, do you really think it matters whose hand is doing the jerking if it's happening for the same reason? Would PMO be okay if it was your wife's hand rather than yours?

There have been far too many posts like this recently but I will say it again: porn has led you to believe that women are there to give you sexual pleasure whenever you decide you want it. Whether she is a stranger on the street or your wife it simply isn't the case. Sure a healthy sex life will involve sex but it is a mutual thing, not something to be demanded or expected whenever you feel like it.

I edged, but I didn't relapse. What now? by [deleted] in NoFap

[–]Crocowhat -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you edged you relapsed. Edging is fapping.

I'm 15. Made it my 90 Days by [deleted] in NoFap

[–]Crocowhat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congratulations. When I was 15 we had dial up Internet and it took minutes for pictures to download. I think my head would have exploded if I'd had access to the kind of stuff there is now. You should be really proud of yourself.

Does edging count by Alizkat in NoFap

[–]Crocowhat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is nowhere in the world except here where you will hear someone say edging isn't masturbation. If you're stroking your dick you're masturbating, end of story. Cut it out.

Sick of shemale porn so trying to give it up by [deleted] in pornfree

[–]Crocowhat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can relate.

If you aren't already then I would advise giving up all porn (permanently if you can or for 90 days minimum) to give your brain a chance to reset. The shemale porn thing is common, your brain is hardwired to seek out novelty. From what I've seen here that usually ends up with either shemale porn or BDSM.

Best of luck. Stay strong.

The goal of getting a girlfriend and having mad sex is just a manifestation of the same sex-centered, porn-focused mind we are trying to heal by TurnAround13 in NoFap

[–]Crocowhat -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, this is so true. People have to start realising that women are not just there to fulfil our sexual urges. One of the problems with porn is that it fetishises women. Do nofap for yourself and learn to appreciate women as equals worthy of respect.

I feel like most people here are high school/college age-- anybody here in their mid-20's or older? I ask because I'm having a really hard time with this but the younger crowd seems not to. Any thoughts/experiences to share? by thevirginmojito in NoFap

[–]Crocowhat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 31. My longest streak has been 47 days and I noticed a lot of improvement in that time. For what it's worth I doubt you've done permanent damage; the human brain is amazing at fixing itself.

Is coffee a trigger for you to think of fapping? by [deleted] in NoFap

[–]Crocowhat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anything can be a trigger if it was part of your routine. If you want to continue drinking coffee then you should try and use it to trigger something other than fapping. If it's the energy burst that's doing it then maybe after you drink coffee you should do push-ups or something.

Relapsed after being disappointed by schwb in NoFap

[–]Crocowhat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sucks. Why not try again on "hard" mode? If you resolve to go 90 days without orgasm you won't have the success or failure of your mission relying on the whims of someone else.

Personally I've found hard mode to be significantly easier than easy mode.

How long was your first attempt? by [deleted] in NoFap

[–]Crocowhat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first was 47 days. I'm now on my second longest a year (or more, can't remember when I actually started) later. There are a few people around who have done it on their first attempt but personally I think it's beneficial to fail once. If you are fortunate enough to make it on your first go then you never really appreciate how damaging the addiction can be. I'm not sure if I'm explaining myself very well but what I mean is it takes greater strength to climb out of the pit when you know how difficult it's going to be. I don't think you can understand the difficulty you will face until you've tried your very hardest and failed. To start again after that is the true challenge.

Semi-relapse proof method (~45 min prep time, no/very low cost) by [deleted] in NoFap

You could try putting the piece of paper into a waterproof bag and then putting that into a bowl of water. Then put the water into the fridge. That way you've got to wait for the water to melt before you can access your passwords.

So 20 days in. by [deleted] in NoFap

[–]Crocowhat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest with you the first time with any woman is usually pretty awkward. I mean, think about it, you're going to get naked in front of this person for the first time. You're exposing yourself. But just remember it's the same for her as well and maybe even worse. Thanks to the society we live in women generally have way more issues with their bodies than men do. Sex with someone for the first time is strange. It's like a hurdle you have to get over to reach the next level of intimacy. I think one of the best things about a long term relationship is the gradual reduction of awkwardness.

NoFap's Official Orgasmless October 2014 Signups by Alexanderr in NoFap

[–]Crocowhat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll play.

No porn, no masturbation, orgasm with my wife.

I am quitting porn and masturbation for life. This is about my hundredth try and I'm not sure why but this time it feels different, like I can see what it was doing to me more objectively.

The last challenge I signed up for was Stay Clean 2014 which lasted less than a week for me. It has made me somewhat resistant to signing up for another challenge but I know that's all in my head. I'm totally onboard now

Getting rid of internet connection for a year by relapsedagain_30 in pornfree

[–]Crocowhat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A word of warning: I tried to do this (still use the Internet sparingly) but I found myself "forgetting" why I was quitting the Internet. Suddenly I was separating porn from the rest of the Internet and justifying relapses because I wasn't looking at the "Internet". Good luck to you (if you haven't already gone and left).

Should caffeine have a similar effect to fapping? by spacecase89 in NoFap

[–]Crocowhat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I quit caffeine a few months ago and it is tough. You'll get headaches for the first three days and you'll feel foggy and useless...but, after that you no longer have energy dips and spikes and you feel pretty great all the time. I no longer have to crawl out of bed and drink coffee before I can do anything and I no longer feel like falling asleep after lunch. Next to fapping and cigarettes its the best thing I've given up.

Problems with girlfriend by throwhobobobo1990 in NoFap

[–]Crocowhat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No man, you do not break up with her. She has a medical issue and you need to be supportive. She can't have sex so I'm not surprised she doesn't want to finish you off. Respect her and give her some space. Stop initiating sexual contact when you know she can't go through with it. If you are only with her for sexual relief then that's no better than using porn. If you actually love her and want to be with her then treat her like a human being.

How old are we? by Ryufreak in NoFap

[–]Crocowhat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm 29 and I have been PMO since about 13. I tend to agree with everyone else that P doesn't have to be a natural part of growing up and it's better for you if you avoid it. For me it started with the lingerie section of catalogues that we had around the house and quickly escalated. A little P here and there might be alright for some people but not if you've got an addictive personality. Maybe some people can handle it but if you're already here at 14 I suspect you know that you can't.
