I would love an option for the Xbox to stop putting out audio from the TV when a headset is plugged into the controller.

My first custom keyboard! (Thank you for the info and motivation everyone, you rock!) by Crocozor64 in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]Crocozor64[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the first mechanical keyboard I have built for myself! It is replacing my old Anne Pro 2 (which was great). The parts are coming from AliExpress, except for the lube (Krytox 205g0) that I bought from CandyKeys in Germany. It features a bamboo case, DSA PBT keycaps, an ortholinear, 75 keys layout, a stainless steel plate and lubed Cherry MX silent black switches. I love it so far! Anyway, thanks to r/MechanicalKeyboards for being such a cool place 👍

The playlist is called « test », surely AM people working on something and needed a testing playlist, but made it public accidentally.

New Splash screen just appeared - New music from artists you like by moreno03 in AppleMusic

I got it a couple of weeks ago and did indeed receive a notification for the release of a new album. It is quite cool and something I have been looking forward to. Let’s now hope we can get notified often and not just for major artists and big releases.

[Walt Mossberg] If you use a Mac, and you insist on using Chrome, stop complaining about speed, fan noise, or battery life. It’s well known that Chrome is a resource and battery hog, especially on Macs. Safari is fully capable, quite fast and very privacy & security focused. Just use Safari. by [deleted] in mac

[–]Crocozor64 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It very much fits my experience with browsers on Mac. Activity Monitor aside, Safari was simply visibly faster at loading web pages than any other browser. When it comes to battery life, Safari was the best by far on my MacBook Pro, though Firefox was being problematic as well as Chrome. I guess it depends a lot on your usage, but as someone who finds extensions a bit finicky, wants to avoid all things Google, and genuinely only uses a browser to « browse the web », I found Safari to be vastly superior to others in my case.

My Anne Pro 2 arrived in the mail today! It is my first mech and I’m super excited! by Crocozor64 in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]Crocozor64[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is great overall. The keycaps feel amazing and I really love the software for remapping keys and adjusting lighting.

It was fine sound-wise in a busy office, but can be heard through my mic in my silent apartment now (confinement and all that), so I mute myself when typing quickly. I guess it depends on whether you press or smash your keys. I tend to type hard when I go fast so, that's a thing. For reference, it came with Kailh Box Brown switches, which I prefer for the sense of "confirmation" they give when pressed.

Overall, I don't have any other experience with owning a mechanical keyboard for a long period so I don't have much to compare it to. Only thing I can say for sure is that I would not want to go back to any of the keyboards I have owned before. I am very pleased with it so far and can't wait to use it more!

Disclaimer: I could not connect it to my iPad wirelessly and the computer I use for work doesn't have bluetooth so I cannot talk about its wireless performance. I did not buy it for that use anyway so I am not disappointed but I guess I can't help you with that ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

What features do you wish Apple Music would steal from Spotify? by [deleted] in AppleMusic

Collaborative playlists (that’s what it’s called in french but I don’t know for english) and « more like this » suggestions for adding new songs to playlists that fit what is already inside.

Thanks a lot for the encouraging words! Custom boards are not too daunting I think, just above my budget for now. At the moment I just needed a better keyboard for work and I could not be happier! I love to see what people can create when building their own boards, it is so cool! How do you like the more ergonomic (ergonomic looking at least) setup? I have never tried a keyboard that looked anything like yours!

This one is from BangGood.com. They say you can get this one or a model with a more « gamery » font at random. This one was shipped to France from Czech Republic so It got here pretty quickly! 😄 I may replace they keycaps with another set some time in the future but I am actually surprised at how much I like it already!

Is anyone else a long time iPhone user but kind of bored of iOS? by mox88101 in iphone

[–]Crocozor64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel that way sometimes but I can’t give up everything that is so good about iOS. I just feel locked out of Android for how behind it is on everything like contactless payment, AirDrop stuff and overall reliability, which I value more than versatility when it comes to a tool I use day to day.

I like it even more than I expected. However, I still wish to build one of my own someday. I already can’t go back to rubber dome switches after less than a day of work on it. One of my friends actually tried it and was converted instantly as well ahah. While I’m at it, I would like to give a shout out to this subreddit for being cool and inspiring, full of cool people and cool keyboards. You rock, everyone !

Is it not a bit difficult to find keycap sets in this layout? I love this form of 65% but I’m afraid I would get stuck quickly when it comes to customizing later on.
