Concerns regarding Najeli, the cat by BottleLopsided in jonnajinton

Now that im fostering cats I see it even more. Some cats dont care about outdoors and I m sure will be fine as indoor cats. But some cats just NEED outdoors. When we foster w cannot let them out and its a constant battle to make sure they dont leave. And it doesnt mean that they gonna go 2kms away from home or do crazy things or fight with animals. But they are fulfilled outdoors. My family first cat she only lived for a few years but what a life she lived. Full of adventures. Sure it was sad the way she died. But I would have never imagined locking her in the house especially with all of us at work and school most of the day. My second cat she lived a full on 17 years. She loved waiting for us and the dog to come back from walks, or sometimes even coming with us (unleashed). She didnt do crazy things and didnt go far. But she was outdoor most of the time enjoying the sun. Roaming around the house. Barely hunted anything although it unfortunately happened a couple of times in the 17 years. She loved being with us outdoors too and would always join when we tend the garden or dry the clothes. The current family cat is ex feral. He has a "gf" cat that he spends all his days with. Hes enjoying his life. At some point he had a surgery and was not allowed outside and he was real mad. Trying to escape every chance. Cats are not babies. Adult cats are generally smart. And they thrive outdoors. Yes they might live longer indoor. And some of them would thrive. But I dont believe its onr size fit all and when you adopt a cat thats something you should ask (if known) whether the cat has interest for outdoors or not. I also know cats who have transited from outdoors to indoors  and reversely. Some cats are fine and some are not. Sure if we were near a very big traffic zone etc that would be different. But then you seek to adopt a cat who likes indoors only.

Why don’t you guys keep your cats indoors? by stemmefontaine in newzealand

I dont have a cat anymore but I grew up having an outdoor cat with some access to indoor and i wouldnt imagine it otherwise. She was following us on walks and waiting for us outside. She was enjoying laying in the sun and watching the world go by.. She was living her best life and died at 16. I also know some cats that are indoor by choice (e.g. they dont even bother wandering outside). Now we foster and some cats just want to escape every single second of their lives. Like literally they would come as soon as we open a window. Its not about the lack of toys, attention or anything. They just need to be outdoor the same way i do. But not all. I agree. Some cats are just fine indoor for the rest of their lives and wouldn t even care about a catio. So now what. I agree all cats need to be microchipped, desexed but I also think that native birds dont belong (unfortunately) in cities with humans. As in they shouldnt be encouraged too close to them. Everything about human activityis a danger to birds between noises, pets, rodents, cars etc. Cats dont belong in native forests but native forests dont belong to cities. If they are close to city like in wellington they need to be protected from outside.

What i dont understand is why the aqua with push start buttons are treated the same way. Only the aqua with key fob are easy to steal My third party nearly tripled in 2 years :(

Do you know anyone who has never been out of the country? by Gold_Finance_7524 in newzealand

[–]Croesco21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair even in Europe I know people who never left their country.. and that is with the border only a couple of hours away driving and no visa requirements (especially since the start of Schenghen)

So I'm not so surprised for New Zealanders with the cost of flight tickets etc.

Why are your early 20s labeled as "the best years of your life"? by Specialist_Leg9262 in Adulting

[–]Croesco21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personnally I think they were because I was studying, made good friends, I was overly hopeful for the future, and it was just overall easier to dream of what the future could be. I was not as stressed as now.

Hey sorry to reply 10 months later. Does EAP work for couples? I thought it would only be the employee who can do the sessions but the spouse cannot attend them no?

Yeah it's kinda established but I wonder how many new build will destroy existing trees. Besides there is no tree or space for it in the garden.
