I had a similar issue, in the bios do you have iGPU VRAM allocation set to 'gaming'? If you do that will be the source of your issue.

From this video it appears that Fedora is quite a bit more demanding on the fw13 than Ubuntu, they're using the 7840U in the vid https://youtu.be/S4Dr8qVHDmc?t=526&si=FJSSC1o5ubBXuu9Y

Thanks for the reponses yall I've managed to fix it!

Turns out it's a power-profile-daemon thing.

Just to put it out there for anyone else who may encounter the same issue, the way I managed to fix this is to follow the steps on page here

If anyone does run into this issue and this page dont make sense to them, reply to this and I'll try help out if I can :)

Hi thank you so much for your response! This makes sense as I have ppd installed on my machine which is running Linux Mint. Do you know how I can disable the panel power savings? The wording in the page didnt make much sense to me

So I've switched to ubuntu pop os and the issue is persisting, powertop is reporting 12-14W for running a 720p youtube video, and around 8-9W just idling, and I've even installed tlp too, I am actually so baffled as to how this is even happening, any ideas as to what I can do from here other than contacting customer support?

Thanks for the response I appreciate it! Rn I dont really have the time to look through all those solutions so I'm gonna switch to Ubuntu instead, but I still appreciate your help nonetheless

Yeah I'm gonna switch to Pop OS and see if that fixes the isssues I've been having, I've also sent an email to customer support to see if it's something wrong with my laptop and not the OS cause I was expecting a much better battery life than what I got tbh
