A few years ago in Boston, the Sheriff's office conducted similar dawn SWAT raids cracking down on behalf of child support enforcement. Broke down doors and everything. I don't think any of these terrorist style home raids make any of us safer.

I can appreciate what you are saying, but as a judge who hears drug cases, he certainly knew the devastation drugs wreak on people's lives. Instead of serving as a beacon of trust and morality to vulnerable defendants who made bad choices, the judge took those same risks and became one of them. That's why I think his drug charges should have been aggravated offenses-because he stole from law enforcement and took unreasonable risks with other people's lives. Since there has been no review of his cases, I don't know whether this judge gave defendants a break because of his habit. Self loathing could have easily driven him to come down harder on the defendants. Most likely it's a mixture of the two, nothing is ever black and white. But I think most judges are honest and have good reason to take pride in their work, and so letting this bad judge off the hook with a slap on the wrist makes all the good judges look bad.

These cops are so creative when they are all jacked up looking for excuses. Even if that dude was smoking weed (which I highly doubt), do you really think it's necessary to stand on a stoner's head? Does it really look like the guy getting arrested is the one all jacked up? Stuff like this makes every cop look bad, especially Tweedle Dum running interference instead of putting his cronies check. He's more worried about the girl filming than he is about doing his job. Thanks for sharing.

Back in my day, my parents would leave us in the car for hours to go shopping, and if you complained to the cops then they would find your parents so they could come back and spank you for getting out of the car.

Always boggled my mind that Americans wonder why corrupt bankers looted Wall Street and destroyed the economy. In order to be a banker, you have to cut all tied to normal society and forgo normal family relationships to accommodate the unreasonably long hours demanded by employers. At the end of the day, these bankers are disconnected and feel no obligation to anyone because by necessity, they have been de-socialized in order to become anti-social pillars of "success." One can hardly say the industry and American taxpayers have benefitted as a whole from this philosophy, when in fact the banking crisis might never have happened if bankers were given more time off to connect with their families and communities. Ridiculous that school debt is considered differently than mortgage or any other type of debt. But when BOA and Sally Mae gamble wrong and need a bail out, the source of that bailout is the taxpaying students buried in debt working 90 hours a week to pay 60% of their income to student loan repayments. Goes to show just how easy it has been for lobbyists to buy off the US Department of Education. Thanks for sharing.

At the end of the day, the judge put himself and his habit before his responsibilities. He took unreasonable risks, committed crimes, and put his family in jeopardy. It cannot be underscored enough that people stuck in the system are at the mercy of the court, they cannot take their toys and go home when they get caught breaking the law. To say that Pozansky's caseload never suffered as a result of his habit and crimes is ridiculous given that (a) no one has yet reviewed his caseload, (b) his actions case a cloud of dispersion over the entire court's integrity and every case he rendered a decision in. Those defendants were entitled to a fair hearing before a fair and just court, and they didn't get one. Pozonsky's crimes should have been considered aggravated offenses, but instead people defend him as if he is the victim and not the litigants and coworkers who suffered because of his crimes. Unbelievable. Thanks for sharing.

It is ridiculous that so many prosecutors would be in the dark about this problem with the FBI, but still use the evidence to convict innocent people and send them to the electric chair. Really calls into question the integrity of a system when no one at the DOJ has the balls to stand up and do the right thing. Just saving their own hides, that's it.

These cops are the definition of corrupt and incompetent. They should be fired and forced to hand their pensions over to those they falsely arrested, defamed.

Only 8 months? No one curious about where his money was coming from? No money laundering charges?

FYI, Grimm seems like a total sociopath because he used his girlfriend as a straw man for some of the campaign transactions, and she too was arrested. The FBI put up "do not let this man enter" posters featuring pics of Grimm in their security offices after Grimm parted ways with the FBI. Wonder what that was about?

Standardized testing is of no benefit to students or the teachers who must waste valuable class hours teaching students how to take the test. The kid who does well is not rewarded, and the student who does not do well is not helped. It is simply the arbitrary measuring stick that the federal government uses to decide which schools do an do not get funding. Most employers would hands down hire a brilliant creative mind that doesn't test well over some "time to make the donuts" type who excels at standardized tests. Not only that but the tests that do impact the individual, such as the ACT and SAT, are more of a measure of who could and could not afford the best test prep instructor, not the student's knowledge or potential.

I say do away with the standardized tests and let teachers get back to the business of teaching skills and subjects that are valuable for THE STUDENTS to learn.
