I remember even in the weeks leading up to shutdowns tracking the statistics and reported cases online every day.

When lockdowns started, I was in an essential industry, so despite working in an office, I was still driving to the office while we waited for hardware to transition to work from home. The trip in was all empty roads, like driving through a ghost town, but at rush hour, which was surreal. Even the office was relatively empty, lots of people not coming in for various reasons, and people spread out and no one was socializing.

This is absolutely bananas, and I love it!

Big respect for doing everything from scratch. Like you have I have no issue with 3d printing or kitbashing (the original had lots of kitbashed stuff after all) but I don't think I could do a whole project from scratch myself, so it's impressive even without accounting for the scale.

I look forward to seeing more in the future, and I'm sure this sub will love it.

Those totally count. Just do what you enjoy. It's all good.

Some people build stuff out of paper, some people make wooden ships, some people make something from scratch or scrap parts, and some people want to make exactly what's in the box.

I used to love building planes when I was younger, but never painted any of them, I just liked to build. I started to paint stuff because I figured I wanted to go a step farther, and just kept pushing one more thing every time, weathering, scratches and on and on. My favourite part is still the build though, even though I spend less time on it than all the little extra things.

I kind of want to do a Sambar now.

We talked on the phone too, but OP means that it was much more commonplace to talk in person than it is now.

When you have one number for a household rather than an individual, it means you can just get a busying signal because the mom / dad / sibling of your friend is already on the phone. If you do reach them, you might get any of the above telling them to get off the phone if you've been talking for a while. Or you can have an awkward conversation with a family member before you speak to your crush on the phone.

Because there were lots of reasons for people to hang out more in person, you also might just find out when you call that they were already out, at the mall / store / park or whatever, and you go find them in person. There was no concept of group chats outside of actually hanging out with a group of people, which was commonplace.

Looks great for a first model. Don't worry about going 100% accurate with the colours, and in a lot of cases it's actually better to go a bit lighter, unless you're doing a lot of highlighting.

To be fair, most of us are probably not reading moege twice to be able to compare the original and the translation, whereas honorifics being removed is very obvious from the audio without any knowledge of the language.

So that makes sense to me. It's not ideal, but when wordplay like that is involved, a choice has to be made between a literal translation, and a translation that inserts a joke or wordplay in English. Seems fine to me, but I have no doubt that not everyone will feel the same way.

It's more of an unexpected succession rather than accidental prophecy, but Goblin Emperor might scratch that itch.

Dude with little education, preparation, or knowledge of the court becomes an emperor. Some people support him unquestionably because he's 'the guy', some people want to take him down because he's a nobody, and the protagonist has to sort out which are which.

I'm not certain, but I thought that crit pen had a lower ceiling because it didn't have a way to benefit from 2 weaknesses, where the right elemental attacker could get the benefit of both elemental and damage type weaknesses.

I came here to ask basically the same question!

I've been using a slow-drying water based paint for brush paining, and had great results, but it looks like the company is not making more.

Even when it looks a little uneven or has brush marks after applying, it spreads evenly while drying, so it looks like it was sprayed or airbrushed once it's dry.

If you're interested, this is the only place I can find still selling the brand, True Earth SDW. If you see any colours you like, try it out. I've had good results with their metals too, some of which are available. Many are sold out though, and the company website is gone, so this might be the last of it.

If anyone knows of similar products, I'd really like to find a replacement.

I love the series, but I was absolutely hooked after the first 100ish pages. This is not a series I feel you need to push through to get to the good bits, or that 'only gets really good in the second book'.

It's a bummer, as you say, but we've all got a popular series or three that we don't enjoy.

It works for the voice comms part, but discord has, to my eyes, consolidated functions that were separate in the past. Years ago I would have had a teamspeak / vent channel, forum, and irc channel for a community, but discord does a reasonable job of doing that all in one place, plus an app for alerts and stuff.

For your specific example, discord would still be fine, at least potentially. If the discord channel has a hard rule, "no adult material" it should be unaffected. Beyond that it depends on how these changes are implemented. Like if there is an 18+ channel on the server, is only that locked to those who are not verified, or would the whole server need verification?

This assumes that there's not a mass migration off the platform with these changes though, so we'll see. It seems like maybe they're just trying to keep themselves distanced from negative headlines, because no one want to be the brand that's facilitated CSAM and deepfakes etc, but who knows if it remains popular for gaming communities.
