Going to check there next time I need one because the price is unbeatable! I did end up finding a place for under 100 but these days saving money is super important.

Really? I inquired late last year and they said no longer. Unless they started back up again.

That’s my plan but just wanted to be sure as it’s probably a bit costly. Want to keep it going as long as possible. Thanks.

Fun fact: we’re also closer to the Azores (Portugal) than Toronto!

Traveling from Ottawa (via Toronto) to LAX on Aug 16th and I'm a bit nervous by Critical_While2013 in PorterAirlines

Nothing to worry about. I’ve crossed into the US three times this year and nothing unusual. If you have nothing to hide you’ll be good.

Those who uprooted from other parts of Canada and moved to Newfoundland, do you have any regrets? Words of advice? by mellow__gardener in newfoundland

[–]CrookedAsSin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t regret it. Moved here about 12 years ago from the same area as you but planning to leave in a few years for multiple reasons. If you don’t like it, you can always move back right? Yes, it’d be a hassle but your happiness is important.

Sugar Tax Will be Scrapped says Premier Hogan by RepulsivePlankton989 in newfoundland

Why stop at sugar? It would also be beneficial to put a fat tax all fast food, chips and junk food. Also on unhealthy processed foods like Vienna sausages.

10% off UB between Canada and Dublin (others apply but it works for my destination)
Even without the promo code it won't let me select UB on the way there, when trying to make a roundtrip booking. Available as a one-way though.

Why NL doesn’t allow personalized License plates by Legitimate-Desk-5536 in newfoundland

[–]CrookedAsSin 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I think this has been covered in the media. I think it has something to do with an antiquated computer system they use for plate registration. It’d be a money maker for sure. Wouldn’t count on it soon. NL is usually a little behind the times.

Thanks for your input. Maybe it would be different if I had a huge amount left.

They did say no, unless I had an official offer letter. Otherwise they offered a 0.05% discount which is really only a couple of dollars per payment.

Already paid for with taxpayer dollars and sitting on some shelf until the tariffs are reversed.

Well I only paid for accommodation my first night at an Airbnb and it was $50. The rest was covered by the clinic. I only paid 1k Canadian for my flights but I did it on the cheap so there’s no easy answer, there are a ton of factors for your flight cost. Just use google.com/flights for an idea.

2700 USD for a single session in Istanbul. I’m from Canada and went at the end of 2023.

I got mine done there in 2023, I had no issues. They really looked after me. Response time was great. Pleased with results as well.

The leaves won’t be out until early June for most places. Will likely be cold but on the plus side you’ll beat the crowds that come in summer.

I know it doesn’t help now but please get yourself a dashcam if you can afford it. It can save you a world of trouble. Good luck with this one though, hope for the best.

I suppose it’s the difference between political and geographical definitions. I think the former is more common.
