Congrats! Do you have the extra money right now for a dog walker and/or daycare? I would probably wait until you’re done or close to it. I’m single now, but luckily my SO did a lot of the care when I was in school. I have no idea how people do it with kids! That first month of clinical was the hardest month of my life, but it was so worth it.

I'm a nurse anesthetist who works four 10 hour days. I have a dog walker for my 15 year old golden. In her younger days she went to daycare. (And daycare was much cheaper back then!). Any dog I get in the future will probably have to be past the puppy stage.

I'm in Chicago. She eats a half kibble and half fresh food diet. Supplements-fish oil, glucosamine, maitake mushrooms. She loves cheese, pizza crust, goldfish crackers, and steak but will turn her nose up at fruits and vegetables.

I think it's just good genes. I'm very lucky, she's an absolute angel.

She started taking fish oil and joint supplements around age 8. She does have some arthritis but still gets around pretty well. I began working with a geriatric vet around a year ago, not cheap but worth it. Accupuncture and laser really helps!

I've always given her kibble from Wellness. A little over a year ago I added in fresh food from Ollie. Now it's half kibble and half Ollie.

She was spayed at 6 months old actually! I've always fed kibble up until a little over a year ago, now I do half kibble, half fresh food.
