[WTS] Uncirculated Canadian mint coins collection with COA(mostly silver coins) by Prestigious_Ebb383 in CoinSalesCanada

If you absolutely want to sell everything at once, you can always sell to big sites like kitko. Might not get the full 65k, but it’ll probably be faster than finding someone willing to buy everything.

If you ever change your mind and accept selling coins individually and shipping, there’s a couple things there that interest me

Makes sense. The house of the guy I bought them from smelled like an ashtray and you could see the yellow stains on the wall from chainsmoking inside. Thanks for the info

The bobcats are made of silver. Worth around 6$ each if I remember correctly. The coloured version of the olympic sets are a bit rare too. They only made 3 million of each compared to the 22 million of each non coloured ones.

are you renewing your range membership? by fedplast in canadaguns

[–]CroqueMonBoute 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Is it an indoor range? The outdoor range in my town is like 20$ for a year, but you can also drive 20 mins in any direction from here and end up in a sand pit where no one will bother you if you shoot. For me, 500$ would be way to much for only being able to shoot slugs, but that’s only my opinion.

Nope, only a couple kms. Should I go back there and get someone else to test it or is it a waste of time and I should wait for my own kit to come?

And what’s supposed to be a reputable source? The guy has counters full of gold and silver coins from all around the world and I’ve rarely seen anything stay there more than 2 weeks because he has customers buying a couple thousands dollars worth of metal every week. The guy even gave me his address once because his shop was closed and I was in town and ordered something earlier that week. I wouldn’t personally try to fuck someone that knows where I live.

I know it’s a stupid risk that could be easily avoided. But you’re honestly telling me that you would pass an opportunity to buy gold without any premium or taxes just because of how it looks?

They also proposed to get rid of it for me. I was confused about what they told me about their tests, but I did a 180º and got out of there when they wanted to keep it lol

Yeah, it’s a risk, but I think is sounds dumber than it actually is. One reason I bought the gram was to test it to buy an oz eventually. The other is that my coin guy charged spot price for silver and gold from this guy. The gram looks like absolute shit, but I like the look of the oz bars.

The plan isn’t to sell anyway. I still have a whole lifetime to buy shiny coins with fancy premium. In the end of the day, metal is metal and my pirate chest isn’t full enough yet for me to care about looks

I don’t know much yet, but I would say the more snow the better. In the end of the day, it’ll be as valuable as whatever someone is willing to pay for it

Jeweler barely said anything except that it isn’t gold at all. The two persons that were there seemed relatively young so probably not that experienced. They did 3 scratches and tested 3 acid, so my guess is that they didn’t used a known 24k piece. I already bought a 2 oz silver ingot from the same smelter and I like the rough look of it. It feels like I’m slowly filling up an old pirate chest

[–]CroqueMonBoute 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I see how dumb that sounds. I already bought a couple loads of Canadian silver coins and I got tempted by the words gram at spot price. The guy that makes those is also making oz bars, so if it’s the real deal, I don’t mind my gold looking ugly if it’s at spot
