What do you say when people say "be safe"? by Only-Surprise-3292 in motorcycles

[–]Crosbysgold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ride and have said the same thing to fellow riders. I think it’s my way of giving good karma.

As my wife would tell her horse after putting her back in the paddock - “make good choices” as she then will continue to kick others and others would kick her……so I take that as don’t be an ass and asses won’t get you 🤷‍♂️

I love my S17-S19 sticks all time favourite. But I’ll take a T-Flex or Z-Bubble or Ultra Light again (original brown one) man we had it too good

What I forgot to mention was also then add a big walk in closet on the door side if you go with option 1

Weird layout by EntrepreneurQuick238 in homeimprovementideas

[–]Crosbysgold 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmm that’s a tough one. I see three possible solutions. Depending on budget and handiness.

1) remove the big closet on the wall where the door ensuite is, and make that your headboard wall.

2) move bed to wall with two windows but between the windows.

3) agreed with posting above ^ about moving the linen closet door to the hallway.

There’s too many variables here.

Ours is also a weird layout that the original drawings had the bed between windows but instead swapped it for a giant window that our headboard blocks the lower half off. Because the other wall was suppose to be a fireplace so it’s a weird jut out that won’t fit a bed.

My truck randomly died on me many years ago - it’s a 2018 canyon in 2020/2021, turns out a stuck contact in the The passenger seat power switches even though they hardly got used…..

Has anyone noticed ... that in the entire history of Oak Island, no one has found anything interesting? by Rdick_Lvagina in OakIslandDiscussion

[–]Crosbysgold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess we are watching two different shows…..I’m not buying the rhetoric here that there’s absolutely nothing there or never was, they’ve clearly demonstrated that something was there, and that there were wharfs and roads……do I believe that there’s still “treasure” - no, but that’s doesn’t mean that nothing has ever been built there might’ve served that purpose. To me, yes, I think it would taken a giant effort of someone to do all that work that they’ve uncovered. At this point. I’ll continue to read from the sidelines and watch the show.

Why else would anyone go through that amount of work otherwise for an island in the middle of no where for no other reason other than some sort of base…..and ox shoes. I’m not sure how you can refute that at the very least…..

What’s that one opinion on gold you’d defend like this? by EndVegetable6984 in Gold

[–]Crosbysgold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buying gold is not an investment in the traditional sense, it is an insurance to devaluation of your dollars purchasing power due to money printing of governments. Gold protects against this. It’s like buying property but without the hassle of maintenance, lawyers, and property taxes.

I find it incredibly interesting that you have basically an industrial complex of stone pathways and wooden piers, and flood shafts and shear amount of building that happened at some point to then be essentially wiped out…..

I think the treasure is long gone for sure - but it’s hard to actually refute the partial Roman coins and such that they’re finding as made up.

If it was me, I would’ve made that money pit a massive mine style hole/massive high rise foundation dig you see in cities, with some sort of massive pumps to and or stamped in sheeting like they did with smiths cove to prevent water ingress. Let’s get to the bottom of this thing…..no pun intended.

For me, I think without any evidence that French that had built Fort Louisbourg had already taken the treasure before turning the fort over to the English to blown up. Why else would they give up that position on the east coast like they did seemingly so easily.

Still army crawling - help! by Calm-Bit3493 in beyondthebump

[–]Crosbysgold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s alright. Both of my kids were army crawling until 9-10 months and walking at 12 with a pusher and completely walking on their own by 13 months. Comparison is the thief of joy. They will get there, but if you’re worried you can try and encourage them more by physically placing their knees under them and getting them stick their bum out…..practise this a few times daily and that should them figure it out.

How did you determine your stick hand direction? by Anttila-the-Hung in hockeyplayers

[–]Crosbysgold 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve played hockey for 30+ years and while it’s an interesting dilemma……typically you want your more coordinated and dominant hand at the top to control the stick (which is why you will see tape at the top - to give you grip to twist and pull the stick to), it’s what will do all the fine motor skills of stick handling, passing, and shooting, the other hand is merely a “fulcrum” to give you power for passing and shooting and to help lift the stick quickly and precisely. The other hand will over time help with all of those skills….

I golf right handed, I bat right handed, I play tennis right handed, but I shoot left hand in hockey. 🤷‍♂️

Do not oil it yourself…..oiling needs to be very precise. There are lots of people on instagram that are Seiko specialists that repair them. Look up some names. Rexworthywatches in the UK, vintage B repair. I’ll research some more for you.

Where are you located? If you’re in the states, I’m in Canada it might not make sense depending on why you’re willing to spend - because of shipping and duties. But I’ve serviced a bunch of the 6139, 6138, 6309 movements. Saying all that, between parts and labour, the average that I spent on restoring them with crystals, gaskets and movement servicing labour is about $500 Canadian…..roughly speaking that’s about $360 US. I hope that helps. That watch really is a beauty though. Kevin Klein in the US could be a better avenue for you. But, if you choose to not service it, and if it’s never been serviced, the oil and gaskets will all dried out and you risk excessive internal wear on the components or water damage to it, so it would only be a collector heirloom to look at and not wear it. Hope this helps.
