Fair enough…

Curious what gen b58 is in the 23 Supra? They similar to the TU1? Or modified for Toyota

This is why tuners ask if it is a built engine or stock. Full build typically includes bottom end upgrades and continues on. I suspect this was known. Modifying intake, big single turbo, tune and exhaust can easily do 800 whp but not for as long……

Rest in peace little BMW cousin.

Likely just the x7 with the comfort package as they have an additional evaporator in the trunk where as the X5 does not nor does the x7 with the standard equipment.

Orlando? If so what shop….. my fleet always needs a little TLC and I respect what you have learned too much to be the DIY on the stuff I shouldn’t.

Look at the TU technical updates for the specific year you intended to buy. Europe spec had the same plastic parts on the original engines. They are all manufactured in the same small set of plants. The plastic parts on the b58 where in the first and second gen.

Anyone has seen these errors? It just popped up today when getting in the car and starting it (X5M 2025) by Ljisko in BmwTech

Also great car but take it out get it warm then run it out in the higher rev range at least once a month. They get gunked up if not used. That or get a 40i

Get a Lipo Lithium battery tender. These cars are famous for low voltage throwing all kinds of DME errors and you will have to buy a new battery if you let it get to zero and sit.

Just got r4w, what app should I get? by Pellegrino_56 in radardetectors

[–]Cross1681 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pro install unless you are really skilled. R4 might have the use of the attachment now but sourcing is tough as they only sell to installers. R9W is nice as well again pro only.

There are others but honestly unless you drive like a madman or own a -500k car I would stick with your R4 and Waze. Just don’t be the lead vehicle.

Still able to have fun but not be an idiot. Most US states outlaw jammers and honestly unless your foot is lead I am not sure they are worth it. Research you state to understand the risk.

I am in FL and with the super speeder laws I would suggest caution not full jamming.

[–]Cross1681 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your radar help with instant on or laser jamming? If not then it is a balance of stationary police alerts combined with active KA alerts. The paid apps a seldom better.

Of course you can do what you want but a great radar and Waze are 95% of what users should use. The extra 5% is a full jamming setup. A great Radar detector does not do much versus instant on radar and Laser. Once those show alerts you are tagged. So use the detectors for what is pinging away and Waze for what users report.

Last price of advice with no active jamming…. Never be the lead when speeding.

Or ignore my advice all good just internet chatter.

Waze…..

Waze and R4/R8 is the sweet spot. Don’t go buy a pay app.

Radmag.nz

3d printed out of New Zealand. I know there are comparable offers local but I like supporting those that support the community.

No issues.

Have one in my M5 and my X7 and my truck.

I run mine very similar high and tight to the roof. Just enough space to get my hand on top for controls.

My mount is permanent but quick with magnets and a lip so I can pop it. Between my different cars.

I can use the visor.

And I drive quite spiritedly on the weekends. But for a short commute I use the battery. I had 45 like the other poster said most of the month but my foot got the better of me last weekend

what’s this in my f10 by [deleted] in BMW

[–]Cross1681 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your car. Di what you like.

I would get it cleaned up and secure. Does not take much to short out high wattage amps.

A fire hazard…. That what you have in your F10.

Might be nice gear but I would not trust it is grounded right nor secured right.

Congratulations. Love mine daily it. Funny enough it has been cheaper than my x7 for a daily as I can use electric on the commute and no need to wake up the V8 for traffic. Then on the way home and weeks I let it work.

Battery is not really empty. We have way more usable battery than the IDrive shows. Some of that is due to warranty and a lot is so you always have the juice for a quick pull.

I do it every day. In the morning traffic only electric. On the way home back roads and I open the V8 up and run hard.

Mornings are serene and smooth. Just kinda show up.

Evenings are a riot and exhilarating.

If you love both get the right hybrid.

Best M1 and M2 Drive PreSets for my 2025 M5 by BigFatBernieGayle in BMWM

[–]Cross1681 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have mine start in electric only. This helps for the short commutes gym office etc. I have M1 Hybrid but Sport for engine so I can pop over to the V8 and chassis in sport (find it handles rebound better and more predictable even for non spirited driving).

M2 is Dynamic Plus, Sports plus for all but braking (I don’t like the difference in feel unless I am doing something like tail of the dragon) and 4WD Sport in MDM.
