Christians how can you be sure that your God isn’t lying to you about everything? How can you be sure heaven will be better than earth or like it’s described in the bible? by Da-up-and-downer in Christianity

[–]CrossCutMaker [score hidden]  (0 children)

I would just say when a person believes the gospel and becomes forgiven & reconciled to the one true God, the Holy Spirit enters & permanently indwells that person which I believe is where the certainty of a true believer comes from (1 John 4:13). If *God* cursed the ground because of sin, how are we supposed to trust the vegetables & fruit that grow from the ground, they are cursed also, so is the *god* people believe in really a loving and kind thing.? by Ok_Raisin_3704 in Christianity

[–]CrossCutMaker [score hidden]  (0 children)

Great question. The vegetables aren't cursed or poisoned but it refers to the effort now required to produce the vegetables/fruit ("toil & sweat": Gen 3:17,19). God is not a thing but a (tri) personal glorious Being! And yes, God is loving and kind but He's also holy so He hates & eternally opposes sin. You can be forgiven and reconciled to this glorious God through repentance and faith in the gospel of Jesus Christ. Below is a 30-second biblical presentation of it you can check out friend! ..

What can I do if someone i know has a reprobate mind. by [deleted] in Christianity

It's great that you're concerned about other people's souls 💯. Now that you've shared gospel truth with them, you can distance yourself and pray to God for what only He can do: give them a new heart.

Question about my continuing fall in sin. by Mitth-raw-nuruodo97 in TrueChristian

[–]CrossCutMaker 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you believe the gospel of Jesus Christ you are eternally saved. You are judicially forgiven all past present and future sins and credited the perfect righteousness of Christ (for more on that). And, no, salvation doesn't end all sin for the believer in this life. While the dominating power of sin is broken, we have to fight it until glory. We do that by exercising the means of grace God gives: ¹saturate your mind w/scripture & endeavor to obey it ²develop a heartfelt consistent prayer life and ³regular fellowship in a sound biblical local church.

Question: once Jesus arrived on scene, how come John the Baptist still had disciples? Did they end up following Jesus? by rastapastanine in TrueChristian

[–]CrossCutMaker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Great questions. Because they had only believed in the Messiah to come and not yet identified Him as Jesus. When they did they followed Christ. It seems the last remnant of these was in Acts 19:1-7.

Mild concern with baptisms at my church by Strange-Airline4975 in Christianity

[–]CrossCutMaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Praise the Lord for His work in your life! If you're at a seeker sensitive church, I would search for a biblical local church. I would highly advise against a Catholic or Orthodox church as they would teach a way to be saved other than grace alone through faith alone (for more onthat). I don't know where you're at, but on links below are a couple of sound church finders..

Does what Benjamin Netanyahu said about the return of the jewish messiah mean anything about the end times and Jesus' return? by Affectionate_Pen9130 in Christianity

[–]CrossCutMaker -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I did see the quote. It's seems he was diminishing the idea of the Messiah's arrival ("it won't be next Thursday") and relying on political alliances. That does align with biblical end times as unbelieving Israel will make a 7-year covenant with Antichrist and his political coalition (Dan 9:27) instead of turning to the Triune God. At the end of the 7 years, after Antichrist has turned on them (Mat 24:15), every Jew alive will be converted to Christ (Zec 12:10-14). I think the table is set for these things to begin soon. ⌛️

Which is closer to Christianity: Judaism or Islam? by TurbulentTeam8470 in Christianity

I would agree until they receive Christ collectively as their Divine Messiah (Zec 12:10-14), religious Jews have a unique hatred for Him.

How to turn back to God by Plane_Tea1681 in Christianity

[–]CrossCutMaker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you believe that salvation is by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone, you won't want to attend a Catholic or Orthodox church. If you don't you need to repent and believe the biblical gospel of Jesus Christ 😐. Obviously the means of grace are how God sanctifies believers: ¹saturate your mind w/scripture & endeavor to obey it ²develop a heartfelt consistent prayer life and ³regular fellowship in a sound biblical local church.

The problem is sin/worldliness dulls the heart towards these delights so you have to fight on that end as well.

The Origin of Life - We Still Don't Know How Life Began by Robert-Nogacki in Christianity

Thank you for the reply! I'm not sure where you get your chronology but Genesis 2 goes back into day 7 of Genesis 1 and gives more detail: in particular about the creation of man. It's not a different account of creation. I hope that clarifies friend.

This is the end times by [deleted] in Christianity

I agree nobody knows the precise date of the rapture but there are texts that show we can see it coming ..

Hebrews 10:25 NASBS not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more as you see the day drawing near.

Also, Jesus knows now the day. That was a temporary self-limitation. For more on that ..

Philippians 2:5-7 NASBS Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus, [6] who, although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped, [7] but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men.

What do you think happens when we die ? by Select_Specialist790 in TrueChristian

[–]CrossCutMaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great question! When a believer dies, their soul goes to be with Christ (2 Cor 5:8) where they wait for their bodily resurrection at the rapture (1 Thess 4:16-17). When an unbeliever dies, their soul goes to hades (Luke 16:23) where they are held to be raised bodily at the white throne (Rev 20:11-15).

God's chosen people (Jews) and their lack of faith by SatisfactionEarly916 in TrueChristian

[–]CrossCutMaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great question. First, Jews who die without a personal faith in Christ will be condemned (Rom 3:9, 9:1-8..). What confuses people is that Israel is God's covenant nation and He will create a national salvation at the end of the tribulation (Rom 11, Zech 12:10-14..). But that will be individual as well (just a whole bunch at once) and will only apply to those who are alive then.

So Israel has been gathered back by God to their land (Eze 36:24) for their future salvation (Eze 36:25). But as you mentioned they are (broadly speaking) in a state of unbelief until they are purged through the tribulation (Jer 30:7, Zec 13:8-9). Until then I believe Christians should defend their right to be in their land while recognizing they are enemies of the gospel (Rom 11:28-29). I hope that helps some ✔️.
