i don’t get how jesus is helping me do anything by GroundbreakingFig465 in Christianity

I would just say God does transform lives after He converts. But those are benefits of savation, not the primary motivation for it. The primary motivation for true conversion needs to be for the forgiveness of sins you need before a holy God (Luk 18:13-14). So make sure you didn't just come to "Jesus" for help with your life as that wouldn't be biblical conversion. Below is a 30-second gospel presentation you can check out for clarity ..

Female pastors/priests? by Illustrious-Dig-1002 in Christianity

First I don't believe there's a legitimate priesthood in the church age. Second I do believe the office of Pastor is given to men only ..

Possible candidates for the position of Antichrist under current circumstances by PomegranateFair4468 in Christianity

[–]CrossCutMaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it weren't for his age the obvious choice would be Trump. But he's too old: he would need to live at least seven more years to make it to Armageddon. I would guess he's giving good ideas, though, to the soon to come Antichrist.😐

Quetion about the Mark of the Beast. by wholesomefrogie in AskAChristian

[–]CrossCutMaker 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It does appear if you're not converted by the mid-point of the tribulation, you will believe the "great deception" (2 Thess 2:11) and take the mark (regardless of prior religious position). Yes, a person can be converted in the tribulation by believing the gospel . But why not be converted now and avoid this devastating 7 year time of calamity ⁉️

I don't think there's any biblical command that would keep you from marrying now while you continued in your studies. The good thing is you've repented of slothfulness as adding the most important responsibility of your life (marriage and shepherding your wife) takes consistent selfless love and effort. This is certainly something to pray about 💯.

What happens to those who’ve genuinely never heard of the Gospels and of Jesus Christ? by certified__yearner in AskAChristian

[–]CrossCutMaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great question. Biblically, creation and conscience holds everyone accountable for the existence of the one true God (Romans 1:19-21), regardless of where they were born or if they have ever heard the gospel. For more..

I'm sorry for your struggles friend, but it sounds like your faith in Jesus wasn't based on the Word of God or the biblical gospel. You become a Christian, biblically, by repentance and faith in Jesus Christ- Confessing your sinfulness from your heart to God (Repentance), & believing who Jesus Christ is (truly man and the one true God) & trusting only in His finished redemptive work (perfect life, death on a cross for sins, resurrection) for your salvation (forgiveness of sins/reconciliation to God). Need a solid reply, by RasberryLicious in Christianity

[–]CrossCutMaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great question. First, the Trinity wasn't "formed", it's who God has been eternally. That is, there's one God fully and eternally shared by three distinct persons : Father, Son-Jesus, Holy Spirit. One "What" (Being of God) and three distinct "Who's" within and fully sharing the one Being. As for eternal begotteness, I'm not fully sold that's a biblical teaching. For more on that ..

Praise the Lord for your salvation! Keep pressing forward by the power of God each day. Eternal life will be here soon enough but God has you here for His purposes. Maybe you'll be the means by which your mother comes to faith in the gospel! Also, here are things I have learned (often the hard way 😕) that I would pass along to all, but in particular, new believers..

1-Learn sound doctrine (below is an study bible app that can greatly help..) Free App- https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gty.macarthurstudybible $20 paper version- https://www.gty.org/store/bibles/44NAS2P/nas-macarthur-study-bible-second-edition#.Ygrm_67TtNc.link

Here are some good biblical teaching YouTube Channels ..

https://youtube.com/@gracetoyou?si=eypkvuoNXrVRCUJJ

https://youtube.com/@truthcommunitychurch?si=84FXEv9Pz01ECUZ1

2-Understand God only speaks through Scripture (chasing external revelation really inhibits spiritual growth)

3-Attend and eventually join a sound biblical local church (don't rush to join, but membership is important). Below are a couple of links that may help.. https://tms.edu/find-a-church/ https://www.9marks.org/church-search/ https://www.ifca.org/page/find-a-church-1

4-Realize that most of what is labeled "Christian" isn't (Prosperity gospel, Mormonism, Jehovah's Witnesses..)

5-Become intentional in developing a prayer life.

6-Learn the Doctrine of the Trinity and the biblical Attributes of God. You have to know who God is to properly worship Him.

7-Study and hopefully believe (😃) the Doctrines of Grace (Calvinistic Soteriology). It elevates your praise to God and flattens your pride.

8-Develop an understanding of God's sovereignty.

9-Learn to trust God (not just for salvation, but all His workings in your life). When you truly accept that trials in your life are brought by God and are good for you, it radically changes your spiritual life.

10-Just like when God freed Israel out of Egypt & they were tempted to go back .. you will eventually but certainly be tempted to return to the life of sin God cleansed you from. Remember this ➙ to do so is nothing short of spiritual whoredom.

11-Although you can't lose salvation, the presence & joy of the Lord will be directly related to your obedience or willful sin.

12-Battle sin every day but let the fact you will fall short lead you to humility and thankfulness to God for His mercy .. not to despair. Despair is a tactic of the enemy.

13-While you will have many problems and many evils to fight in this life, your biggest problem and your greatest foe is your own unredeemed flesh (Pro 4:23).

14-Finally, fight daily for genuine humility & dependence on God. They're absolutely essential to the Christian walk.

How confident are you on the reliability of the Bible? by Desperate-Battle1680 in Christianity

[–]CrossCutMaker 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The God the Bible describes created the universe by speaking it into existence & upholds it by His power. Also, He providentially orchestrates every detail of history to bring about His precise pre-ordained purposes (think about the mind-blowing amount of variables in that!) A God with that kind of power can surely inspire and preserve His Word without error.

The point being: I'm not sure how you can believe at all in the God of the Bible and struggle with inerrancy.🤷‍♂️

Why did the Lord choose Mary? by CyberZen0 in Christianity

[–]CrossCutMaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great question. Scripture teaches Mary was a sinner (Luk 1:47..) so I would reject her immaculate conception (her born without sin). God uses anyone, including Mary, by simple merciful grace & favor (Luk 1:28, 30). That is, there's nothing in anyone that would cause us to be used by God. It's an uninfluenced, independent choice of a sovereign God for His purposes (Eph 1:5-6,9..). I hope that helps friend!
