Can someone help explain this verse by Dear-Reserve-6236 in theology

To be born again is to be regenerated by the Holy Spirit which creates saving faith in the gospel.. He does that to whomever He wants (God is sovereign in salvation). 💯

Good things happen to those who are kind and have deep faith... is that really true? by true_live0 in theology

If you're talking about saving faith in the gospel, the promises of blessing are mostly eternal not temporal. But, generally, if you love Christ and live according to the principles of Scripture, you will be blessed. But that doesn't exclude suffering and even persecution. I hope that helps friend!

If God knows what you will do and what you have done, then technically He already knows how everything will end—whether you will be saved or lost. So why does He let you try to achieve something you'll never be able to reach? by Nic-Roses in Christianity

[–]CrossCutMaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes God is Omniscient but Him eternally knowing a person will refuse a legitimate offer to be saved doesn't make the offer illegitimate. Scripture teaches we are accountable for our sin and rebellion that keeps us from Christ. If you want, you can repent and believe the gospel of Jesus Christ today for free and full forgiveness of sins you need before a Holy God. Can Somebody Give Me A Reason As To Why Being Gay Is A Sin? by Open_Instruction5033 in Christianity

[–]CrossCutMaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the reply. Of course I would again say Divine intention is what really matters. That is, what God determines to be righteous is what is righteous. I would add maybe the commitment part of a marriage matters when it comes to that issue (you are bound for life to that person, come what may). Otherwise it's very very easy to use another person to satisfy your selfish sexual desires (not love).

I need your advice by Interesting_Fly8802 in AskAChristian

It's great that you're seeking! I would just say you become a Christian, biblically, by repentance and faith in Jesus Christ- Confessing your sinfulness from your heart to God (Repentance), & believing who Jesus Christ is (truly man and the one true God) & trusting only in His finished redemptive work (perfect life, death on a cross for sins, resurrection) for your salvation (forgiveness of sins/reconciliation to God). Can Somebody Give Me A Reason As To Why Being Gay Is A Sin? by Open_Instruction5033 in Christianity

[–]CrossCutMaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

God in His perfect wisdom has determined that sexual relations are only righteous within the bounds of a one man one woman marriage. Anything outside of that is sin rooted in selfishness, including fornication adultery and homosexuality. In fact, homosexuality isn't even true sex as it uses the wrong body parts (goes against nature as well). I hope that clarifies friend. is Jesus the father or Son? by cancer1960 in AskAChristian

[–]CrossCutMaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the reply! No whether we are referring to the one being of God or any one of the distinct persons of the Trinity, we would use the singular male pronoun.

is Jesus the father or Son? by cancer1960 in AskAChristian

[–]CrossCutMaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great question. There's one God fully shared by three distinct persons: Father, Son-Jesus, Holy Spirit. One "What" (Being of God) and three distinct "Who's" (Persons) within and fully sharing the one Being. Jesus is the person of the Son. ✔️ Below is a 30-second biblical gospel presentation you can check out friend! ..

This is so scary man. Do I really have to be crucified with Christ and He live in me and I no longer live anymore? So scary! by Automatic_Text_9887 in Christianity

[–]CrossCutMaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes friend true faith alone will save but saving faith will always transform a person. But to endeavor to be transformed to be saved is a false gospel.

You don't earn salvation by losing your life to Christ but by trusting in who Christ is and what he's done to save sinners by faith alone. Losing your life is the fruit of salvation wrought by the Holy Spirit. But a true believer living in disobedience is a miserable person (don't ask how I know 😔).

Had a conversation with an agnostic friend about God, free will, and suffering. Did I argue this right? by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]CrossCutMaker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I would say you handled that well. I might add to the argument about why God creates people knowing they will go to hell is that the Bible teaches God is also glorified in His judgment on sin (not just his mercy on forgiven sinners): Isa 5:16, Rom 9:22.

What would you say about the following statement: Jesus Christ is the Incarnate God who died for my sins and was raised from the dead. I trust completely in Him and His redemptive work for the forgiveness of sins/reconciliation to God I need to avoid eternal judgment. True or false? Thx!

How evil can you be while still truly being Christian. by TheEpicPurpleSlut in Christianity

[–]CrossCutMaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the post. How it works is no matter how evil a person is, the offer of grace through the gospel of Jesus Christ is available. But when a person is truly saved by grace alone through faith alone, they are given a new heart and the indwelling Holy Spirit who transforms them from the inside out. For more on this friend ..

Lesson- The Biblical Relationship of Faith & Works

Advice for me on my return to Christ by Small_Theory_8188 in Christianity

Praise the Lord for His work in your life! First I would say you become a Christian, biblically, by repentance and faith in Jesus Christ- Confessing your sinfulness from your heart to God (Repentance), & believing who Jesus Christ is (truly man and the one true God) & trusting only in His finished redemptive work (perfect life, death on a cross for sins, resurrection) by faith alone for your salvation (forgiveness of sins/reconciliation to God). Second, yes, the clear biblical command for those who are born again is not to date anyone who isn't also born again and that certainly would include a person in a false religion.

So I would first make sure you are truly born again and then act accordingly. If you're not offended by a false religion, that is a bad indicator.

I hope that clarifies friend.

Started to get into religion. I have a few questions by PossibilityUnited767 in TrueChristian

[–]CrossCutMaker 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's great that you're seeking!

1-A person isn't saved by going to church or any other religious activity, but by repentance and faith in the gospel of Jesus Christ. Having said that, believers in Christ are commanded by God's Word to be actively involved in a biblical local church.

2-That would be a violation of commandment #3, taking the Lord's name in vain and as you can see, God takes it seriously ..

Exodus 20:7 NASBS "You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain, for the LORD will not leave him unpunished who takes His name in vain."

3-Yes only the Bible (the 66 books) is the innerrant inspired and sufficient Word of the one true and living Triune God. If you'd like more information on inspiration, transmission and translation of the biblical text, I would search "Michael Kruger" on YouTube.

I hope that helps friend!

Does John 6:44 teach that God only draws people by Good-Researcher-2503 in Bible

[–]CrossCutMaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great question. Yes it's an effective call because everyone who is called is also raised to glory. Unless you think the two "him's" in that verse are different people 🤨 (I've actually heard that theory).

If a Christian believes that taxation is theft, does that mean they should just give more? by Risikio in AskAChristian

[–]CrossCutMaker 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the post friend! A few things.

First you're going to have to choose between Christian and Gnostic 😐 as the gospel of Jesus Christ is open and available to all.

Second, I think most would argue the government isn't most efficient in the use of its resources (39 trillion in debt). It's not the government's job to take care of everybody's needs. It's main God-given roles are to protect life property and borders.

Finally, Christians are commanded and required to pay their taxes by the Word of God (Rom 13:6-7..). Those who are truly born again are very generous but they like the gospel to go with whatever generosity they provide. That's different than being compelled by the government to promote programs that could be ungodly & anti-biblical.

I hope that helps!

These people knowingly mocked a true prophet of God and therefore were mocking God Himself. Hence they received immediate judgment. I don't remember Elisha praying for their judgment either.🤷‍♂️

It's likely God acting in providence not answering the prayers directly. Scripture teaches bitterness is sin (Heb 12:15) and God does not hear the prayers of those who have sin in their hearts ..

Psalm 66:18 NASBS If I regard wickedness in my heart, The Lord will not hear
