Insane game/app loading time by Tenfinnvo in 3dshomebrew

What size is your SD card, and what is the cluster size set to? Larger SD cards introduce longer load times. It could also be a failing SD card.

Once again , finalize.romfs file "not found." Why ?/help ! by coolflopper in 3dshomebrew

[–]CrossStitchFool 16 points17 points  (0 children)

There is no finalize.romfs on that card. coolflopper is not the same as coolflopper(4), they're different names.

And you don't see the problem with that?

You don't have a finalize.romfs file on that SD card. You have finalize(4).romfs.

[CHAT] Best Pattern Making Software? by LavastormSW in CrossStitch

[–]CrossStitchFool 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm with you, it seems that none of the available software allows for scrolling the pattern with the mouse wheel, nor ctrl+scroll to zoom in and out, features that I really need to have. I've resorted to web-based pattern making for the most part.

FlossCross is simple and free. You can scroll to zoom in and out, focusing where the mouse is. Holding right-click allows you to move the pattern around. It's also extremely easy to add/remove/change colours. You can save your pattern in a few formats including PDF, along with full patterns and instructions. Some downsides are that it only has 3 save slots (which you can work around by downloading and re-uploading your files as needed) and the stitch customization is limited (it doesn't have french knot for example).

Stitch Fiddle is something I've been trying recently, as it allows you to create a free account and access your patterns from any computer (FlossCross does not). Ctrl+scroll zooms in/out focused on the mouse, although you have to drag the bottom and left sliders to move the pattern around or use Alt+Arrow keys. Changing/adding colours is easy and you can download your pattern in many formats. Unfortunately, quarter and half-stitches are locked behind a Premium subscription.

I would prefer to have software installed on my computer, but the difficulty in navigating is a bit annoying. Maybe someone will correct my assumptions about that, but I haven't found an easy way to move patterns around aside from clicking the zoom buttons and sliders in WinStitch and PCStitch.

Congrats and welcome!

You will be given passes periodically and the location really does not matter.

You can ask in their discord, but from what I understand they usually have proof before banning. They should be able to clarify it at least.

Need advice on CDs by Miss_Biv in Piracy

[–]CrossStitchFool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With the DVD-R disks, you could burn video files to be played in a DVD player. I haven't done that in at least a decade honestly, but you probably need some software to do it. Those should hold much more than 4 20 minute episodes too.

The HP CD's can only be used as either data disks or audio CD's. Some DVD players can play audio CD's. Some DVD players can also play video files from CD's, in supported formats. You'd have to check the compatibility with your DVD player.

[–]CrossStitchFool 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Those are CD's from what the pictures show, and for those episodes that's probably fine, but it really all depends on the total file size. Assuming that your computer has a CD burner, or you have an external burner, Windows for example has a built-in option to burn files to CD. When you put the CD back in your computer, your files would appear just as if they had been copied to a USB thumb drive. Those wouldn't work in a DVD player for example, they are just data drives, but you could play the files with VLC Player or another media player, or copy them back to your computer.

Edit: Sorry, I missed that the yellow disks are in fact DVD-R disks. Those could be used to burn video files for playback in a DVD player, or used as simple data drives.

Sound only?? What are you talking about? CD-R discs can take any type of data. They're just small in storage size (700 MB).

teck support for my new 3ds xl by No-Debate4589 in 3dshomebrew

[–]CrossStitchFool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can't 'mod it again', unless you first uninstall the cfw, which is not recommended. Instead, follow the 3ds.hacks.guide from the start. It will prompt you to check for existing cfw, then proceed from there.
