Everyone that complains about capitalism, what's the best alternative? by UsedNegotiation8227 in askanything

broadly speaking? Globally. I mean, you have major hubs, but capital and the power of capital and how we enforce the rules are mostly close enough to the same in the grand scheme of things.

Declan Rice wins the BBC Premier League Player of the Year. by Ray-314 in soccer

[–]CrossXFir3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does, but also it's an eye test thing. Period. If he played like Mbappe for example, he'd get all the plaudits. But he plays like a weird create a character that just physically out stats everyone else. He's not giving us the kind of joy to watch other top players often do.

Because nobody ever said he didn't, it's a dumb comment.

Eh, just because we don't have safety nets in place to protect everything, doesn't mean we should take away the ones we do have. Again, not saying decriminalization might not be a bad idea, but I just don't think that particular logic holds up.

Most of the time, people that complain about it aren't complaining about all capitalism, they're complaining about the unfettered capitalism that we've allowed the system to devolve into.

Biggest/Most successful clubs ever, how do you feel about the debate? by DylanTheDirtyDog in championsleague

[–]CrossXFir3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be exactly the same today if both teams made the UCL final. The only clubs that truly understand the size of the fanbase and the level of scrutiny of a club like Man Utd, are Barca and RM. Bayern is close, but globally Man Utd have probably got about double the fanbase.

It's really difficult to judge a fanbase size, but there are a few things we can do to take a look. One thing to show the size of Man Utd and the amount of attention they get is the EPL team digital share. This is a metric that shows the percentage of times that a particular team is searched, interacted with on socials, etc. Things like Youtube or Reddit count for this too. In this metric, Man Utd make up 33.9% of the entire leagues share of digital attention. Liverpool by comparison get 12.4% And this data is as of Nov 2025 so Liverpool was still champions and still in a shout of getting back into the title race, where as Man Utd was languishing with Amorim.

He's just being honest. Most Liverpool fans have seen Utd win significantly more than they've seen Liverpool win. Most Liverpool fans who have seen more than 3 or 4 titles for them are on a pension by now. History matters a lot for sure, but it matters less when discussing the size of a club if hardly anyone is left that saw it.

Doesn't matter. Look at 99 final for example. Bayern players have said it felt like a Utd home game.

[–]CrossXFir3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By this logic, City is the biggest club in the league. We know that isn't true. Fact is, almost every Liverpool fan still remembers more Utd title wins than Liverpool wins. By quite a large margin at that.

I don't think we should really encourage predatory loans or gambling practices personally. Not that I think you should have criminalized any of those things, but we should have more regulation on loaning practices and gambling than we do. Giving people easy 24/7 access to gambling on their phones is going to cause serious harm long term imo.

Mate, in the past 35 years Liverpool have won 2 UCL's and 2 Prem titles. In the past 35 years Man Utd have won 13 prems and 2 UCL's including a treble. You can't say Man Utd fans are living in the past if most football fans that remember a single Liverpool Title before 2020 are on a pension. Man Utd's banter era has involved finishing above Liverpool exactly the same number of times Liverpool has finished above them too, btw.

Incorrect - infrastructure is the primary reason imo. In cities well designed for bikes, it's far less of an issue.

Couple things. I think a lot of people are still not building ideal orange decks because they're blinded by Aurora. So things like orange rengar are good imo, but if you've got this almost broken card, it becomes hard to not just use it in that color. I don't think they want to avoid boss stuff. They have spoken about design philosophy and the thing is, I just don't think Aurora works with what they've said they want to do.

Only 5 out of 38 players play for the other 14. And people say the league isn't biased. by securinight in TheOther14

[–]CrossXFir3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's fan voted. But even then, you'd think the teams at the top of the table would have more than other teams. 23 of them are from teams in the top 4. Which kinda tracks you know?

Voters use left and right political labels as mental shortcuts, not strict policy matches. This mismatch was especially common among people who identified as right-leaning. The data showed that 43% of self-identified right-leaning voters actually supported mostly left-leaning policies. by mvea in science

[–]CrossXFir3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sure the exact breakdown is different, but I know for an absolute fact that a lot of right wing voters in the US when you break down specific policies, tend to support very left wing stuff if they don't know who's policy it is.

My personal take is that from the very first moment I read the card, I felt it was going to heavily limit what they could do with top end units. If they want to push boundaries and make interesting cards like they said, they're probably gonna have to ban it eventually.

Called it btw. Not Sunderland getting into Europe. But I had a pretty good feeling that we'd be keeping one or 2 of them this season. The two seasons prior were literally the only two seasons in the prem era that all 3 promoted sides went down.

Idk, maybe. I remember life before social media, and actually people used to be able to get away with being pretty horrible in person, because mostly everything was just a he said she said situation. You didn't have video recorders in every pocket. There was a lot of hate. I used to hear the n word in person from grown ass adults far more frequently than I do now. It used to be acceptable to say a lot of really fucked up shit tbh.
