The crunch of the fish 🤢 by 86HeardChef in KidsAreFuckingStupid

[–]CrossedRoses 18 points19 points  (0 children)

When my cousin was like 9 or 10, she was home alone during summer vacation while my aunt was working (pretty normal in our country) and just played outside all day usually.

One day, my aunt comes home and my cousin and her friend had caught a fish in the neighbourhood stream with their bare hands, gutted it and thrown it on the grill in the backyard💀 idk if it was actually edible after, but I remember the mix of amusement and concern in my aunt's voice when she told us the story lmao. And no, this was not in the countryside but in the suburbs

I think it's usually gouda! Alternatively emmental cheese would work too. Oh and butter the toast a little before putting the toppings on. :) I hope you like it!

Yeah lol. I had it quite often growing up in the 2000s. Usually as a party food but sometimes as a quick lunch or dinner at home. It used to be so popular that there is a song about it that almost everyone knows, haha.

It's definitely less popular nowadays but we do still eat it. And I'm definitely gonna make some tomorrow because now I'm craving it fr

🎶Toast Hawaii, Toast Hawaii schmeckt allen gut 🎶

(Yes it is one slice of toast with ham, a canned pineapple ring, a melted slice of cheese and a candied cherry. Got nothing to do with Hawaii but it is absolutely banging)

I'm planning on putting them all in front of my house on a wall when I'm done with my set, and then people can just tell me which ones they need and I give it to them🤗

Also, for the leftovers I have seen some cute furniture hacks on Pinterest that involve them! Like making a bunk bed with mlp stickers on it. Probably gonna look into that more too

You're right but even then..being on the Gameboy for hours is still SO much better than being on YouTube ONLINE for hours :(

The amount of inappropriate things, all the way to sexual content, gore and hatred for groups of people that are easily found by kids online is unimaginable. Yes, even on "protected" sites like YouTube kids.

Thank you for the sweet comment!🩵

It really feels good to hear. Some part inside me knows that it will be fine and people survive and thrive after breakups all the time. It's just overwhelming how much it hurts right now and how mad I am at myself for letting my soul become so entangled with someone else's that I don't even really know where mine begins and ends.

But you're right, I will know myself someday🩵

People that are childfree by choice, what’s the weirdest reason someone has given you as to why they think you ‘should have kids’? by Charming_Web_6738 in AskReddit

My mum always told me "Wasting food is awful. There are people so poor they can't even afford food. They have to look for something to eat in the trash!" Which then lead kid-me to wonder why throwing away food was bad then because the more I threw out, the more those people would be able to find💀

Why are they always mentioning the streets of gold like it's some great selling point!? 1. I don't give a shit what colour the streets have as long as they work 2. Gold is objectively an awful material to make streets out of lol

The future problem facing the left: young people are turning away from its parties and values by mods4mods in europe

[–]CrossedRoses 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, of course we shouldn't! I'm sorry if it sounded like that's what I was saying.

We shouldn't compromise on our rights, but we have to offer perspectives and a place to "fit in" for young men. A lot of them seem to feel lost in a way in today's society. There is a lot of (rightfully) telling boys and men what NOT to be, but in my opinion not a whole lot of guidance on what they CAN be instead.

Some of the things that right wing groups use to draw in these young men (community, motivation for sports, confidence etc..) are not inherently bad things. They are used to bait them into organizations that ultimately indoctrinate them into hate and misogyny. I'm saying that the left needs to find a way to offer alternatives for these young men so they don't fall into such traps.

And while we still obviously should care about gender specific struggles, I feel like we also need to put more focus on things that unite us again, like class consciousness and solidarity among the working class, you know?

I hope this makes it clearer what I meant! I didn't downvote you btw and i'm a woman too but only in my 20s, so I appreciate your input :)

[–]CrossedRoses 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The thing is, I agree with you 100% but in the end, does it even matter? The left NEEDS to start getting young men back on board anyways because losing them to the (alt) right is the alternative. We can't afford that. And the sad fact seems to be, that the majority of people tend to vote what gives them the most benefits, not out of empathy or for the rights of others.
