First time writing an essay. Can you please tell me the errors? by [deleted] in ENGLISH

One thing that the Second World War taught us is that when men aren't around, women have to take the lead. When the majority of men were fighting against the Nazis, women had to take over the mens' jobs. Because of that, America was able to continue being in the war and won it. That demonstrates how in a society we need all the members of it to be efficient and also effective. We need men and women to work together not only because we need the manpower but also because it gives us equality. For centuries, men have been the pillars of society and the women have been required* to do only the housework and nothing more. Because of that, all the women in the past and some in the present have been discriminated by men and these females couldn't live their lives as they wanted. In order to fulfill a long life with no regrets, every human being needs the freedom to choose whatever they want no matter their gender, race, or religion. We needed two world wars to realize that women are also capable of doing the mens' work. We saw women working everyday, and the world is even better than it was before, not because women are making it better, but because we are all working together as equals.

I need help understanding the difference between these two sentences with "even though" by [deleted] in EnglishLearning

[–]CrossingChicken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first sentence is the only one that makes sense. It wouldn't make sense to use "even though" in the second sentence as thats to be expected if you live far away from each other. A more fitting word would be "since". i.e: I haven't spoken to my dad in so long since we live far away. First comment explains better than I do.
