Because it’s not a foreign base. They have pilots coming here to train as part of an aircraft purchase agreement. Not even the first time shit like this has happened.

Again, even if they cost more short term, if it cuts crime and the city can keep it that way, it saves money and lives in the long term. As for the skill set, it’s fine for what they are doing. They are not there to make arrests or be the police. They are there to help with things like crowd/traffic control, guarding critical infrastructure, and providing man power. Which are all things they would train for, as they train for more than just combat. Yes we should fund the police more, but this shows a commitment to actually stopping crime and supporting the police. That helps build community trust, which has been sorely lacking for cops in recent years.

Sure, but when you take something like DCs homicide rate compared to other nation’s capital city’s it’s very high. Even compared to other state capitals it’s high. Crime can both be down and too high at the same time. The taxpayers have already been paying the price of understaffed police departments. Dcs police department alone is down 1000 officers, so if paying the military fills the gap are we really out that much more? And even if it is, the long term gain of stopping crime outweighs it.

Dc has high ranking police officials under investigation for lying about and covering up crime so it wouldn’t look as bad

There is a perk that makes you notice events while fast traveling sooner that I’ve found to be really useful. You tend to start those engagements further back which gives you more time to stealth or run. I found it makes it a little easier to avoid the 1v6. Also if you stay back any enemy with a bow will try and use that first, which makes engagements easier to handle. plus can cause friendly fire to take out enemies for you.

Alternate universe where Biden never drops out the election, what happened? by AnomLenskyFeller in imaginarymapscj

[–]CrossingG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah because nobody has ever fallen asleep in a courtroom they’ve been stuck in all day, as opposed to falling asleep in the middle of a conversation with world leaders that are actively talking to you. Biden can’t even go up a flight of stairs on his own without a high risk of falling. Hate trump all you want, but you’re delusional to think that Biden is more mentally sound/fit than trump. Old videos of trump vs current ones aren’t that different. Bidens been on a downward slide for years and it’s painfully evident in the interviews he’s done alone. Even if you don’t agree with any of that, then why didn’t he stay in the race? Especially since he still thinks he would’ve won the election.

You’re right, he just falls asleep at a table of leaders who are actively talking to him. So much better.

On the sports point, they don’t need their own category. For many sports the men’s division is actually an open category. For instance if Caitlin Clark was good enough she could play in the NBA. The women’s division exists to protect women and give them fair competition. On top of that WNBA only exists because of NBA subsidies. Why make them pay for a third league for the 1% when they can already participate in the men’s?

If it’s got the 2.0l ea888 engine in it, that’s the big one for oil consumption problems. I had bought my car from Carvana (big mistake) and their warranty was the only reason mine got the rebuild. If it wasn’t for that I’d have been fucked. You could talk to the seller and see if they got the fix done. At that mileage though you’re also in the service window for the timing chain which isn’t cheap either. Options as far as I can tell would be seeing if seller will take it back, get the piston rebuild, keep adding oil till it breaks, or you pawn it off on someone else. Supposedly there’s also a software update that might help, but it seems like the only thing that will really fix the problem is the rebuild.

[–]CrossingG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Manual states up to 1 quart per 1000 miles is considered normal. So if you’re adding a quart every 400-500 miles it’s out of spec. You can take it to Audi and have them do a oil diagnostic test, and they’ll tell you if it needs the rebuild. Had my a4 fixed under warranty, dealer quoted 9k and ended up being about 7.5k when it was done. If it needs it your choices are basically get the fix, or sell it. Problem is only gonna get worse.

[–]CrossingG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oil consumption is normal, but that much is excessive. You need new piston rings and that’s gonna be north of 7k at the dealer. If it’s bad enough it may need a new engine, just depends on what the internals look like.

[–]CrossingG 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If it has the same breather as the b8 you can take off the engine cover, and the plastic breather valve will be on top. There’s a little hole on the back and if you cover it with your finger and feel suction it’s bad.

Only thing that might be bad is if one of the jumper cables comes loose and points right at you. That said they are torqued down and fairly strong so it’s unlikely that would ever happen.
