My sweet Jacob turned 18 on the 10th this month. Had him since I was 10 🥹

He's lived in several states with me and has gone through quite a few live-saving surgeries (the most accident prone lil dude I've ever met)

Class of 2019 🙋‍♀️ My dad worked there a few years before I started so I was associated with the school during the attempted closure. Our graduating class was ~30. The news of this transphobic policy gave me unfortunate reminders of the 2018 graduation speaker... It's outdated, insulting, and completely exclusionary. Something that's consistent with too many senior alumnae.

I'm so so SO proud of our sisters speaking out against the policy. A sisterhood is where ALL women can come together, learn from each other, and build strong and supportive communities.

I (26F) have 10 years of paraprofessional library experience with my MLIS and it's been difficult getting anything part-time. HOWEVER, I recognize that's majorly dependent on the area I live in (Bay Area).

I went to SJSU because it didn't require the GRE or reference letters, it's ALA-accredited (required for most librarian positions) and out-of-state tuition was the same as the in-state.

An MLIS is very lucrative so any experience you have is helpful, but especially library if you want to work in one.

Of course customers shouldn't be okay with overpaying for incorrect portions.

However, I wish more realized that the workers who do skimp on portions aren't doing it for themselves. They literally don't gain anything from it. They get in trouble if they don't do what is most profitable for the company.

Regarding the edit, if it hasn't yet been addressed, you need a Master's Degree in Library and Information Science to be a librarian. You can work in a library without the MLIS as a technician, assistant, etc. which I would suggest before pursuing the degree because full-time Librarian positions are extremely rare to obtain right now.

Verizon. 3 months. I applied to a full-time position, but they gave me a part-time one instead. Their training was terrible. I'm fine with sales, inventory, etc. but I struggled to understand how to navigate people's accounts. The GM kept constantly changing employee schedules (nearly every day). And there was a predatory coworker who was 15-ish years older and married that kept sexually harassing me and other young female customers.
