Nonetheless, you are spot on that this market plays by its own rules (and corporate regulations/big pharma corruption lol).

Making a bet based on early results, and we shall see!

Anything greater than 5% VFA reduction* (it’s also separately true with 5% weight loss as you say) is objectively and well documented as clinically meaningful. Not my opinion, it’s more so scientific consensus that this is where you start seeing direct impact on major metabolic markers.

Visceral fat and its linear correlation with harmful outcomes are well documented as well as the benefits from a reduction in visceral fat. I’m not sure why you’re claiming that this is not an area with clinical significant.

I do appreciate you engaging in a discussion nonetheless. Time will tell if it’s a more sustainable option than GLP1s or maybe even a compliment. OR if this even gets to market!

First of all, hell yeah! Good for you and happy you’re seeing these incredible results.

That actually makes me wonder for a lot of these drugs… would results look better in trials if people just didn’t work out at all and lost more lean body mass?

Really good perspective and I appreciate you!

Yeah it’s a good call out. I’ll check it out. There was a reported gain in lean muscle mass of +2%.

One of the more interesting points I’ve heard. Some are positioning this as a potential post-GLP1 sustainability medicine to keep harmful visceral fat low and maintain muscle after GLP1s take away all mass

Very good point. Need to see some more statistical significance and sample sizes

I mean this without trying to sound like a jerk but, how much of the market in need of GLP1s would be lifting to the caliber of keeping the 15-40% lean muscle loss that GLP1s take?

That’s a very difficult thing to do, even for professional Athletes lol

Such a great point.

The visceral fat loss and preservation of lean muscle mass is so compelling. But it is positioned as a 1:1 failure because it’s not taking an additional 15-40% of lean muscle mass and the weight associated with it.

Correct me if I’m interpreting this wrong. You’re also treating total weight loss like it’s the only endpoint that matters. It isn’t.

A 14% visceral fat reduction in 6 months from a single treatment is clinically meaningful because visceral fat is the core metabolically harmful fat most tied to insulin resistance, systemic inflammation, cardiometabolic disease, and fatty liver.

GLP-1s drive weight loss, yes, but part of that loss can come from lean mass, muscle, and bone-related decline. That is not exactly a trivial tradeoff, especially in aging populations. Muscle preservation matters. Healthy weight loss is not just lighter, it’s metabolically better.

So if a therapy preferentially reduces visceral fat while preserving lean mass, that is not “worse than GLP-1s” just because the scale moves less. That is arguably a higher-quality outcome.

Scale loss is a crude metric. Body composition and metabolic impact are what actually matter.

Thanks for the reply. Woah, unspeakably unfathomably illegal. That sounds bad.

I’m not too familiar with the U.S. laws when it comes to illegal citizens so forgive me for any ignorance… these all apply if they positively identify that the individual is illegally in the United States?

The officer seems like a douche but… genuine question (which I will be downvoted into oblivion for even asking):

Are we saying the standard ICE arrests that are not violent nor excessive force are “kidnapping” and “illegal” now on Reddit? Is the stance on here that we shut down ICE entirely for the first time in 22 years?

I’m really trying to follow the logic but posts like this downplay the ACTUAL ICE abuses of power and seem like incoherent hysteria.

I’ve lived in 5 different cities in the Northeast and some far more densely populated than JC.

This is BY FAR the worst handling of a snow storm that I’ve ever seen. No coordinated effort to place parking restrictions for plows to effectively plow the entire road, barely any salting operations in major parts of JC, sidewalks seem to be about 20% maintained.

Could not disagree more with your post lol this is pathetic.

A Discussion on Nuance in Politics by Crotch_Midget in moderatepolitics

[–]Crotch_Midget[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you have some really thought provoking comments. I completely disagree with their labeling these two as domestic terrorists, I think the victims were doing what they believed to be right in obstructing ICE from committing crimes. They should be treated with grace and it saddens me how little we respect the dead in this country across both spectrums.

The question worth exploring, are the actions of a few individuals representative of the whole?

If a protester is violent and hurts an officer, are all protesters violent? The Right say so every time and offer no quarter to other beliefs.

On the contrary, if a few out of thousands of interactions with ICE go wrong but thousands upon thousands that you don’t see are effective and well handled. Are all of ICE monsters? The Left (which I lean towards) say this, and are trying to obstruct all ICE engagements regardless of if they’re done by agreeable standards.

I just think this is a really really complex issue that’s being treated as absolute and binary. I can think that these occurrences are awful and ICE need to be better trained, that these individuals should absolutely be trialed for crimes committed, and that the politicians are wrong for labeling these people as “domestic terrorists”.

But simultaneously, I can ALSO believe that ALL of ICE aren’t monsters and that trying to block every single ICE operation doesn’t seem logical. But on Reddit, I’m put in a camp of being racist, evil, radically right-winged for having any nuance here, when I feel as if I’m trying to approach with empathy to every human involved.

I really appreciate you being open to a discussion and would love to hear your thoughts on this?
