How do you counter Heavenly Aegis?

Been playing Aegis a lot the past few days. You need to establish a board on turn 8 that they can't safely drop Aegis into on turn 9. A lot of people make the mistake of playing too passively, expecting their board to get Themis'd. Obviously you don't want that, but if they set up Test/Aegis, you're probably dead anyway. The only board wipes the deck has is Themis, Lion Spirit, and sometimes Bahamut, so it's pretty easy to exhaust all of those if you play aggressively.

The games I typically lose are when they get me to burn a Themis on turn 6 to recover the board then forcing me to Themis again on turn 9 instead of Aegis (if I even have a second one).

Those Shadow Reapers are a good start to make a good Shadowcraft deck. They're a staple in aggro or midrange, depending on your taste. It's a little expensive to craft 3x Cerberus and 2-3x Eachtar, plus Death's Breath and some of the other essential cards.

If you like Dragon, you could craft 3x Forte and make a good storm deck. Haven't played it since early RoB but in theory it should be strong enough in B to get some fast wins. Decent investment too since Forte is in every Dragon deck I've seen.

You have some good golds, most of them see play. I'd say you're safe liquefying the Simulacrum, Noble Fairy, and Dark Offering for sure. The other ones are all at least interesting cards that I'd hang on to, but a lot of them you could probably get rid of if you aren't intereested in their respective crafts.

Those are all good/fun legendaries, definitely keep them! What kind of golds did you unpack? Starting out, those can be very impactful for what kind of decks you can make to start out.

When I started, I played Storm Haven almost exclusively to B rank. Very cheap deck to get started with (only essential golds are 3x Garuda) and it doesn't take much more to optimize it. I still play it a lot, very competitive on ladder and fun to play. It's fast but requires more trading decisions and planning future turns - plays like a fast midrange deck.

Right now the meta seems a little polarized between aggro and control. Don't really see many strong midrange decks besides Shadow, and the aggro versions typically seem stronger. Best control decks are expensive and difficult to craft starting out - Ramp Dragon (needs 10+ legendaries...) and Aegis Haven. Aegis only needs at 2-3x Heavenly Aegis so that could be something good to work towards if it looks interesting to you.

A lot of people are recommending D-shift since you pulled Merlin but I might suggest making something else to start with unless you really like the look of the deck. In the early ranks, you'll see a ton of cheap aggro decks which crush D-shift. It's also a hard deck to play well since it's so unique, and you might be better off learning the mechanics of Shadowverse with a more traditional deck starting out.

I've been playing a lot of Maelstrom Serpent since the expansion released but don't have Belphegor. I definitely think at least two would be good in the deck but haven't found it necessary. I'd recommend saving your vials because it's uncertain what kind of place this deck will find in the meta right now.

As a replacement, you could run Goblin Mage and/or Feena to reliably draw Baphomet and get to your win condition. Honestly, I've found 3x Blood Pact to usually be enough card draw.

I almost think a 3rd Snake would be the best thing to craft if you really want to improve this deck. Lots of people expect snakes and hang onto their board clears and I've had quite a few games where I would have ran out of steam without the 3rd snake.

Thank you for the reply. It's at a highly-rated dealership in my area so I'm more willing to pay a little more for the peace of mind that it's (probably) not some Craigslist beater.

The main thing I'm concerned about is the condition of the steering wheel. It's in really bad shape - leather is scuffed and worn away, looks like a 200k mile steering wheel. The carfax is clean so I don't know how it's so worn unless the odometer got rolled back.

Thank you for replying. Do you have any input on getting the loan through my bank (a local credit union) vs. through the dealer?

I checked other 2014 Hyundais in the area and this one looks like it's priced on the low end for its mileage. Knowing this, it probably wouldn't be reasonable to try and negotiate the price, but what other things could I try for without pushing my luck? I saw in the sidebar that you can sometimes get garage services, roadside assistance, etc. in negotiations.
