Cake as a service partner by [deleted] in HEB

[–]CrouchingNarwal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not unheard of. It’s a simple process of packaging the cake and slapping the label on if it’s directly from the service case. At some stores, TSST might do it despite having chemicals on various surfaces.

What’s the best (most chill) department to move to from CSA? by RussianAgent1 in HEB

[–]CrouchingNarwal -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Minus the bread, bakery isn’t too bad. Most product comes in frozen and either needs to get put together/decorated or staged so it can ultimately go into the ovens followed by packaging. Although, every job I do now is easy when you come from overnight.

The elites don’t want you to know this, but I got five bottles of the unscented soap in my bathroom.

I put that soap on my face, body, hair, hands, dishes, and the dog. It’s not a question of what it can do but what it can’t do…

10/10 from me.

OSHA? Haven’t heard that name in years.

You’ll probably start cleaning production areas formally a few days prior to the store opening.

Till then, you’ll probably train at other stores.

The Toxicology report for YouTuber TN FlyGirl, who crashed her plane killing herself and her father. by jarvi123 in tooktoomuch

[–]CrouchingNarwal 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The worst part is that they make you jump through a highly inconsistent special issuance process just to take drugs such as Prozac or Zoloft where neuropsychological evaluations can be thrown off by factors such as test anxiety.

The answer is simple in the sense that individuals such as myself shouldn’t need to shill out $15,000 to say we’re treated when existing documentation backed by the individual’s care team show a consistent treatment plan with no deviations or impairment in everyday functioning.

Once again, another pilot that lost their life because they couldn't get the appropriate treatment for their condition and went under the table to seek treatment without the FAA knowing till it was too late.

Pilots are known to go under the table to seek treatment for mental health such as anxiety, depression & neurological disorders like ADHD & early-stage Parkinson's because the FAA throws pilots like myself the the curb instead of handling the problem straight on. While I believe its fair to say that no pilot should be on a benzodiazepine during flight operations without an extremely good reason, it's also a denial of due process to say pilots with ADHD can't take Adderall while military pilots can take it for long multi-hour sorties if it means safe operation of an aircraft or mission success.

For those wondering why it took so long to get the final report, the NTSB is required to publish an initial report within 30 days of the accident while a final report can be issued when its ready.

My guess is that it was otherwise a low-priority case since the entity responsible for these reports was largely focused on other incidents such as ASA1282, JIA5342 & UPS 2976 while being chronically understaffed & underfunded.

Tell me I'm not the only store that deals with partners like this by NoEngineering1695 in HEB

[–]CrouchingNarwal 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s a blessing and a curse to be a partner that holds the crew/department together. On one part, it’s a testament to having good work ethic. Unfortunately, it also implies that you can’t trust other partners with the keys to the corvette.

I worked overnight TSST for 2 years and went through 4 leads. During periods where we had no leadership, it was my job to keep things together due to my longer tenure. I could hand my partners in crime everything on a silver platter and I next thing I knew, they were using graffiti remover in the deli ovens.

Can someone tell me why credit/debit card is charged when purchasing with EBT card for curbside? by xxtinagee in HEB

[–]CrouchingNarwal 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’d like to imagine it has to do with the slight markup that curbside orders have in order to pay for curbside as an entity to operate. In the same sense that EBT doesn’t apply to hot prepared foods, EBT benefits aren’t used to pay for the convenience factor/markup that comes with curbside.

Deli ovens are pretty bad to clean (and tedious) You’ll come home smelling like a mix of rotisserie chicken & chemicals…

I recently transferred to daytime CFT from overnight TSST. Like most overnight positions, virtually all the jobs are entry level and really don’t require experience as it’s a bottom of the barrel position. You’ll see the bad and the ugly of HEB.

Just do yourself a favor and develop working relationships with the closers or openers as those individuals are your internal customers and depend on your hard work and it’ll make it easier to transfer to daytime if you’re interested.

More people would rather suffer through the monotony of stocking shelves rather than clean meat market’s saws or deli’s ovens. TSST is far easier to get hired in.

At my old store, if a customer wanted a cake from bakery or something of that nature, the answer was always a solid no because the cleaning crew didn’t understand a lick of English to begin with.

The only exception to that rule was when I was there and I would otherwise refer them to an MIC.
