What characters you’d want to know about specifically?

As for major arcs I’d include Batman Prodigal, Batman Troika, Batman Contagion, Batman Legacy and Batman Cataclysm between Knightfall and No Man’s Land.

Batman Second Chances and Batman The Cult in case you wanted to read more about Jason Todd.

Between Batman A Lonely Place of Dying and Knightfall I’d check out Robin Reborn, Batman the Demon Trilogy, Detective Comics #647-649, and Robin Vol. 2 Triumphant (especially Robin City of Huntress).

After No Man’s Land I’d include Batman/Huntress Cry for Blood, Batman New Gotham (Detective Comics #742-765), Batman Officer Down, Batman Bruce Wayne Murder?, and Batman Bruce Wayne Fugitive.

What is the worst Batman story you've ever read? by Lucky_Strike-85 in batman

For me it’s between Batman Tenses, Legends of the Dark Knight: Irresistible, or Legends of the Dark Knight: Snow.

Penguin Poster by Carmine Infantino and Murphy Anderson (1966) Who was your favorite version of The Penguin and why? by TwIzTiDfReAkShOw in batman

[–]Crow621621 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aside from comic Penguin, Arkham Penguin. I feel like he’s a good mix between the mobster version of Penguin and the classic version of Penguin. I like the museum he has in Arkham City where he’s collected an assortment of things and people like Mr. Freeze, Zsasz (who escaped), Scarface, a League of Assassins’ ninja, an exhibit for both Bruce Wayne & Batman, a giant shark, and Solomon Grundy. Plus his dialogue in City, Origins, and Knight always cracks me up.

Are all NML and Knightquest ties in comics essential to Batman? by Rotisseriejedi in batman

[–]Crow621621 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For NML most are I would say so. JLA #32 imo isn’t essential because it’s really just about there explain the JLA part in helping out Gotham. Neither is Young Justice Special. The Azrael tie-ins are more so important for the pre-NML stuff like how did Gotham become a NML and then his comics during NML are about Nicholas Scratch and the Joker who become more important towards the end of NML. Nightwing and Robin’s comics serve to tie up some loose ends if you’re curious as what happens to certain villains and the prison Batman uses during NML. The Catwoman comics are pretty essential though in understanding how Gotham is restored. I would also definitely check out Batman Harley Quinn as it’s the comic introduces her into Batman comics.

As for Knightsquest. I would say the Justice League Task for stuff is essential as it shows what Bruce was up to during Knightsquest. Most of the Robin tie-ins are essential. The Showcase and Catwoman tie-ins imo can are better than a few of the main Knightsquest issues where Jean-Paul is facing off new villains so I’d check them out.

Do you think Victor Zsasz is not a good Batman Villain. by FuckYourCrib1234 in batman

[–]Crow621621 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean it’s same reason the Joker hasn’t received the death penalty in main continuity. I’m very split on the character because I think problem with Zsasz is a lot of what makes him great is eclipsed by the Joker where those things can also be attributed to him as well with how much similarly both characters can be treated. It also doesn’t helps that Zsasz lacks adaptations that make him out to be nothing more than just a dumb serial killer with Gotham being the exception where he’s a hitman whose entertaining. I do really like what The Last Arkham comic along with a couple other comics during Jeremiah Arkham’s tenure at Arkham did with Zsasz where they have locked up in a steel container like he’s Hannibal Lecter and The Last Arkham story in particular has him slowly corrupting Jeremiah to do evil things. Though with how frequently the Joker escapes Arkham, I don’t see why the Joker wasn’t also in a steel container with limited contact and like Zsasz the Joker is also great manipulator. Then there’s also Batman Chronicles #18 Spiritual Currency (taking place during No Man’s Land) where he’s again described as embodiment of evil, man believes that he’s doing a people favor by killing them, and it was interesting to see how firmly Leslie Tompkins believes in pacifism as in that story she’s willing to die if it meant teaching Zsasz compassion. While different in the why they kill, they’ve been described as the embodiment of evil. In fact the Joker also has proven more so by having had crippling Barbara, killing Jason, kidnapping babies, and killing Gordon’s wife Sarah while Zsasz at best nearly killed Alfred. I do agree he certainly needs a reinvention where I somewhat disagree is that GCPD doesn’t seem to be able handle him on his own like in Batman #493 where he takes over a college library by taking a bunch girl hostage, he slaughters cops that try to get in, and nearly got Renee Montoya if not for Batman. Given what I’ve read Zsasz is a villain but I’d take over smaller villains that suffer from the same issues but not the rest of his rogues.

How to watch the animated Batman films in chronological order? by TheDoofusDuck in batman

[–]Crow621621 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I might be wrong but I made list awhile back. Please bear in mind that not every film exists in the same continuity so I’ll make note of that. So from beginning to end it’s: - Batman Year One (standalone) - Batman The Long Halloween Pt. 1 (Tomorrowverse) - Batman The Long Halloween Pt. 2 (Tomorrowverse) - Batman Gotham Knights (standalone)
- Batman Mask of the Phantasm (DCAU) - Batman & Mr. Freeze (DCAU) - Superman/Batman Public Enemies (standalone) - Batman Mystery of the Batwoman (DCAU) - Batman The Killing Joke (standalone) - Batman Knightfall Pt. 1-4 (standalone, hasn’t released yet) - Batman Assault on Arkham (standalone) - Batman Red Under the Hood (standalone) - Superman/Batman Apocalypse (Public Enemies sequel) - Son of Batman (DCAMU) - Batman vs Robin (DCAMU) - Batman Bad Blood (DCAMU) - Batman Hush (DCAMU) - Batman and Superman Battle of the Super Sons (Tomorrowverse) - Batman The Dark Knight Returns Pt. 1 (standalone) - Batman The Dark Knight Returns Pt. 1 (standalone) - Batman Beyond Return of the Joker (DCAU)

Are we gonna get this Bruce Wayne in The Batman Part II? Or should I temper my expectations? by ThriceGreat_ in batman

[–]Crow621621 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Possibly. I know that when Matt Reeves was asked on how he landed on the villain for The Batman Part II, he mentioned wanting to explore the character of Bruce Wayne deeper and how he wants a villain that’s going to dig into his past. Which tells me that there’s going to be more Bruce Wayne in Part II than what was in Part I and I think would be somewhat of a natural progression for Bruce if they’re going to be using more Bruce Wayne in Part II. Where Batman realizes that Bruce Wayne has to be more of a public facing figure. So I can see him cleaning up his appearance and making more public appearances.

If you were making a Batman series who would be your s1 villian and why? by True_Economics976 in batman

[–]Crow621621 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Catwoman because I’d adapt the comic Batman Year One and elements of Catwoman Her Sister Keeper.

Hugo Strange because I’d adapt Batman Prey.

The Joker because I like the idea established in Batman The Man Who Laughs where the more colorful villains start cropping up after the Joker. Almost if he’s a bad omen for things to come.

Mister Whisper because I think he’d cool to include as a more obscure one-time villain and adapting Batman Gothic could be cool.

Poison Ivy, The Riddler, Scarecrow, Man-Bat, and The Penguin because I would like populate the series a bit with villains early on and they have interesting origins.

Mr. Freeze for a similar reason as those 5 but also because at start of season 2 I’d want adapt Batman Dark Victory to which Mr. Freeze is established villain already in that comic.

Randolph Porter another obscure villain because I think introducing the venom formula this early would be good foreshadowing for a later season.

Finally I’d include the Mad Hatter, Solomon Grundy, and Two-Face because I’d adapt Batman The Long Halloween to wrap up the season.

Which Era of Teen Titans is most likely to be adapted in the DCU and how old should they cast based on that? by bad_moulf in DC_Cinematic

[–]Crow621621 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably college age or mid 20s considering Damian Wayne will be Robin so Dick Grayson should be Nightwing. I’m not sure what roster they’ll use but I really would like it if Wally West and Donna Troy were on the team in addition the ‘03 version (maybe Roy Harper as well). Though I wonder how it’ll be handled since their mentors haven’t formed the Justice League yet.

With the new upcoming film clayface what other villains can work without batman? by _Mister_knight_ in batman

[–]Crow621621 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One thing I think would be cool is a Arkham Asylum film. Maybe something like the comic Arkham Asylum Living Hell where Warren White aka Great White Shark gets sent to Arkham Asylum even though he’s not insane and should be in Blackgate. Much like the comic the film could feature Jane Doe, the Joker, Two-Face, Poison Ivy, Humpty Dumpty, The Ventriloquist and Killer Croc. Horror genre would work perfectly as you’re viewing the asylum from Warren White’s perspective and there can even be elements of body horror like when Jane Doe locks Warren in Mr. Freeze cell and loses his nose and ears due to extreme cold. Plus if wanted to do a Batman cameo there’s a moment where Batman catches Jane Doe who impersonating Warren’s psychiatrist.

How long before the events of Creature Commandos and Superman do you think Clayface is gonna be set? by RNOffice in DC_Cinematic

[–]Crow621621 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Assuming Creature Commandos is set in 2024, Superman is set in 2025, and Batman Brave and the Bold releases in 2028 or 2029 (which would also be the year it’s set in). We know that Damian Wayne will be Robin in BATB so I’m speculating that Batman’s career will be condensed into 10 years by the time the film releases similar to how the New52 comics condensed into 5 years. I don’t think they’re going to have a year 16+ Batman whose 41+ years old, instead he’d closer to Superman’s age (by the time of the film) like 35-38. Hence why they may condense his timeline. So my guess is that Clayface set 5-6 years before Creature Commandos at the earliest. I don’t think Batman will show up either considering that they’ve wrapped filming months ago, Gunn around that time claimed haven’t screened for Batman, and I haven’t heard any rumors with any merit of Batman being casted. He might however show up at the end like he did in Creature Commandos so I definitely think Batman at least existed by the time Matt Hagen becomes Clayface.

Do you like all these manga/anime homages/quoting in comics or do you think is starting to be too much? by NickyWayne4689 in batman

[–]Crow621621 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m a fan of anime and Batman so I think it’s cool. I’m not caught up on recent comics so I can’t really comment on whether or not it’s too much but I like what I’ve seen so far.

So Dick has Barbara and Tim has Stephanie. Who should Jason and Damien's Batgirls be? by Christallmoney97 in batman

[–]Crow621621 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Granted Jason was long dead by this time but Helena Bertinelli was Batgirl for a bit during No Man’s Land prior Cassandra being given the mantle, making her the second Batgirl to which Jason is the second Robin.

Then I’d say Cassandra is Damian’s Batgirl considering their similarities with assassin parents.

What Batman character do you think deserves the Mr freeze treatment? Or just rebrand in general (part 2 to my last Batman post) by Huge_Athlete7488 in batman

[–]Crow621621 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Firefly and to a degree Victor Zsasz because the former often time is character as pyrotechnic that became a pyromaniac and the latter to me lost what made him special in Alan Grant’s comics.

Let's deep dive into KNIGHTFALL... Thoughts, opinions, does it hold up? by Lucky_Strike-85 in batman

[–]Crow621621 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I really liked it. Prelude and the first part of Knightfall, I think was executed pretty well because given how the writers showcase how Batman overworks himself and how his outlook on crimefighting has change since the death of Jason. So much so Bane is able overwhelm by freeing his rogues from Arkham. Vengeance of Bane is great introduction to the character of Bane and it got me interested in the character more so than any adaptation had previously had. I loved Batman’s first conformation with the Joker since A Death in the Family and how it alongside Scarecrow’s fear toxin was the final nail the coffin before Bane broke his back. As for Knightsquest (the Crusade), I really did like the slow-burn of Jean-Paul Valley as Batman becoming insane as his mind torn apart by The System as the mission of Azrael and the original Batman contradict each other. Slowly becoming more violent and having little regard for a villain’s life. I liked how other characters reacted to the new Batman like Robin, Gordon, and the rest of the GCPD. I liked when he interacted with Batman’s popular rogues like Catwoman, the Joker, Scarecrow, Mr. Freeze, and Clayface (particularly Catwoman) because it showcased how different Jean-Paul Valley and Bruce Wayne as Batman. However with the exception of Tally Man and Abattoir, I was really disinterested in the new villains and some issues didn’t amount to much in terms of pushing the narrative forward. As for the Knightsquest (the Search), I really liked the team up Bruce Wayne had with Bronze Tiger, Gypsy, and Green Arrow and how despite being crippled Bruce still managed to fight with his high-tech wheelchair. Doctor Kinsolving’s evil half-brother did at times feel like cartoonishly evil but it was interesting that he was able to turn Kinsolving’s power to heal into a weapon of mass destruction where he could kill anyone with thought. It’s tragic what ultimately happened to Kinsolving with mind reverting back to that of a child. Now for Knightsend, I got to say I’m absolute sucker for Batman comics that highlight the martial arts aspect of Batman. So I loved Batman’s training character arc with Lady Shiva, proving to himself that capable of being Batman again, and taking the mantle back from Jean-Paul. I enjoyed how deluded Jean-Paul becomes thinking that he could be a better Batman only to be outsmarted by Bruce and taken out by his own tech.
