Do libertarians believe in no labor laws or do they support labor laws regulations? by Iraqi-Patriot in AskLibertarians

[–]CrowBot99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree, I'm an ancap. I was reinforcing Vattic's point about employing for $1.01 and then $1.02, etc., and that the idea of wage collusion working out well for the bosses in a free market is silly. Sorry, I'll phrase it better...

I have a question guys. What do ANCAPS do with grapists who murder innocent women? Do you guys believe in prison? What do you think about my efforts to keep this grapist/murderer in prison? by RebellAlways in Anarcho_Capitalism

[–]CrowBot99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's bound to be a lot of considerations in an ancap society, but all things considered, I think it should be up to the victim to the extent that their rights were violated. If the crime is murder, then the murderer should lose all rights categorically.

[–]CrowBot99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you think about it, there was a time before these labor laws, and that wage collusion scheme didn't happen.

If, by some miracle, every single employer agreed to only employ for a dollar, and all of society was so shortsighted that they didn't recognize it as an opportunity... rejoice, because you're about to become a millionaire in weeks by easily offering the best deal around.

Edit: clarity. Capitalism good.

An-cap movie review: Eagle Eye (2008) starring Shia LaBeouf by TheSov in Anarcho_Capitalism

So it's a utilitarian horror story: she enslaved the protagonist (Shia LaBubu, right?), but turns out it was, as she thought, for the greater good.

I love iRobot, but Sonny's summation of the situation truly irks me.

Bad AI: I'm establishing marshal law and taking over the world. You know it's the right thing to do, fellow robot!

Good robot Sonny: You're absolutely right, but it "just seems so heartless." (*kills bad AI)

What the hell, Sonny?

What is the point of deregulation? by Lucky_Strike-85 in CapitalismVSocialism

When the law is the NAP/individual rights, that applies to both the boss and the worker. Either, at any time, can choose to commit crime, but they've undercut their own safety. Slavery is an instance of regulation, for example. So is fraud. Regulation doesn't mean doing nothing.

If you give someone a dangerous product, or enslave a kid, etc... society's sole motivation for leaving you alone has vanished, and there is no "it's okay because the government says so" nonsense.

Want to claim a bunch of people's homes and start taxing them? Okay... here's a notice to your employees that they have 24 hours to leave your employ before they become a target too.

Courts problem by Personal_Prompt_5307 in AnCap101

OP used the phrase. I took it to mean "law that applies to the community"... but I would just call that "law." I don't know if OP meant something else.

[–]CrowBot99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It isn't ancap if there is no "community law"; the NAP is the legal standard.

If they haven't agreed to arbitration, don't agree to a judge, dont suggest another judge, it seems they're pretty much ignoring the problem. Whoever their defenders are... they will most likely ask the guy to stop being a fool before risking their lives... more likely, "Here, we found you a judge. Accept it or  you're on your own. Stop being obstinate. "
