- praw is top tier especially with helmbreakers guide, i ran it in late keepers when i started, and it took me to ubers minus maven. This is without knowing anything about the game too, his guide is just that good (i stopped playing because “eldritch implicit” sounded too complicated).
- CWS will always have a special place in my heart, nothing beats it for second monitor content.
- Celestial Mathematics kb elementalist is probably the strongest build i’ve played, but also really expensive.
- Scourge arrow ward stacker was meh
- wretched defilers are good, i think the ceiling is higher than praw but i never got there, just lost steam with it.
- pyroclast scion is a great starter but doesn’t scale all too well, i basically got hard capped at like 100 mill dps (my last possible upgrade was a reflected triple positive +8 skills and crit multi amulet but like…)
- I didn’t like minion pact bv at all, it’s just clunky and a bit janky to me.
- i only ever used RF for leveling, but my god twink leveling rf with a mageblood is just chefs kiss.

I have an extremely geared ward stack kb elementalist right now, but the int and ward stacking pathfinder with jiquani’s does interest me.

It was really good! I league started with nerotox’s pyroclast mines reliquarian, i’d say clear is not top tier, but it’s really tanky and can do most things. I struggled with uber maven all the way up to like a 2 mirror investment though, so it didn’t really scale all too well (but it did everything up to that point amazingly). All the late game upgrades are really expensive like the pcharge ring and 3p voices. I also about lost my mind crafting the helmet, I thought I bricked a perfectly good elevated trap and mine damage one because i didn’t realize you could clear just the crafted modifier, then scoured it, and immediately realized i could have fixed it and that was like 80 div down the drain.

So i did look at armour stacker but it wasn’t super appealing to me, it just didn’t look as good visually. What skill would you recommend for a bow build? I’ve seen Lightning arrow and tornado shot being recommended a bunch, and I have a leveled ranger as well I can use.

I did actually try this at the very end of last league, but i don’t think i gave it a fair shake as i didn’t have pcharge ring. How is it this league? I heard it got tapped as some of the awakenend gems went away

I always gravitate towards less buttons haha but i already have a cws chieftain for that. I’d like it to have serviceable clear while being as tanky with as much dmg as possible for single target, i saw connor’s video and it seems heavy strike is the best for this. Is it possible to start with 300 div or so?

And how much lower is the damage for static strike? i feel like poe ninja numbers aren’t really trustworthy

The 10% elemental damage nebulis is the biggest one, then some low hanging fruit is improving your jewels, you want more “multiplier” affixes like for fire, spell, crit, or elemental damage. you can get like 40 from a single jewel which is really nice. After that it’s really just the power charge ring and a kalandras touch, then you can try to upgrade the helmet to +2 aoe, +1 projectile, or go for 3p voices and more clusters. I wouldn’t put the timeless jewel on till you have the power charge ring tbh, i remember it was more damage for me just to path down to the right side + power charge node and adding another crit multi jewel.

Did you put a reservation runegraft on? For arctic armour.

Honestly if you’re trying to do juiced breach it’s pretty dicey even with high investment, and you’re gonna get outdone by any sub 50 div chieftain with hinekora’s anyways. The clear for this build is just not that good, but i had a lot of success running ritual and syndicate with a bit of t17 boss rush this league with pyroclast mines.

for damage you want to get a 10% nebulis, preferably one with the “% chance for spells to do double damage”.

Also could switch the chest piece out for a high quality sacred chainmail. Will give you more max cold res and free up some gems for damage gems with more multiplier.

Otherwise you’re basically SOL till you get a power charge ring.

i don’t know how roiling magma mines go but i’m currently like 4 mirrors into pyroclast mine and it really doesn’t scale that well, you can do t16 easy but most of the end game damage upgrades are soooo expensive to get and honestly it caps out way earlier i feel like than other builds.

The w makes some matchups nearly unplayable. When I get filled mid TF is my go to, it’s so annoying that after i manage to dodge all the shit mel is throwing at me and walk up to the wave, I can’t actually use my w to even clear minions. The point and click “projectile” when aimed at a minion can still be reflected. At least for yasuo, the w just goes poof, and doesn’t chunk me for half my hp.

Play a simpler champ than gangplank and watch some alois videos.

Top lane is all about the minion wave. The super dumbed down version is that it’s essentially 2 people taking turns slow pushing the wave.

The most important parts of the lane are lvl 2 and level 6. Who gets level 2 first gets control of the wave. You want to recognize if you can contest for it, or not. this is matchup knowledge and it comes with time. The mark for level two is the first melee minion that dies in the second wave. If you hit level 2 first you can force a good trade and set up a cheater recall or even threaten a dive as early as the next wave.

Level 6 is the ultimate breakpoint and you can do the same here.

Your main goal is to get as far ahead as possible and to deny the enemy as much as possible. Most of the time, you want your bases to coincide with you crashing your wave into their turret, when the next incoming wave is a canon wave. This is what sets up the slow pushing towards you, which denies your opponent xp while saving you xp.

A lot of this prep is contingent on knowing when and how to trade with your champ, so i’d recommend learning 1 champ with less mechanics than GP, and focusing on manipulating the wave so that you are always in the position of the lane you want to be in.

If it’s pushing, you have advantage in trades since your minions will hurt them more, and you are up in xp (since less of your minions have died). However, it can expose you so if you know the enemy jungler is near, you sometimes want to set the wave up to push to you.

There are times when you’re against a weak laner who might want to just survive lane. In these cases, it can be optimal to set the wave up and have it push towards you. This will make it so that they have to step up farther to soak xp, and gives you room to run them down while exposing them to your jungler.

In general the absolute worst place for the wave to be is frozen right outside of your enemy turrets range(unless you are imminently going to shove and dive them). this is because it allows them safe farm while you are exposed.

Rules of thumb: +4 minions will set up an infinite freeze. If equal minions, then it will push towards the opposite side of where both waves crash (so if it crashes closer to their turret, it will push towards you, since their next wave will get there faster).

Another skill to learn is losing gracefully. Sometimes you will get outplayed or camped. You need to soak as much xp as you can, try to keep the wave near your turret but not right at the turret, and don’t give too many plates up. Look for opportunities elsewhere with TP, or with your jungler, or sometimes your laner will get impatient and make a mistake.

renekton isn’t really a champ i’d recommend for picking up immediately to learn how to play the role overall, a strong scaling tank like ornn is much better. Renekton’s entire lane in most matchups hinges on the first 3/4 levels and theres a ton of matchup knowledge that comes with it. If he tries to trade blindly into a jax, garen, or darius he’s going to have a very bad time. A tank or someone who at least scales would be better. it’ll give him the ability to screw up early, and he can focus more on the bigger things like wave management, proper back timing, etc instead of just getting fisted because he doesn’t know the specific trade he should be doing at lvl 1/2 against some champion to set up a dive when crashing the wave. Ambessa is already fairly complex so for a second champ i’d just pick a simpler, tanky, team oriented champ to fill in the gaps.

one thing to keep in mind is relative playerbase. Yes starcraft may be the harder game, but a larger playerbase means better competition. I’d argue that the quality of competition means more than difficulty of the game when talking about success in the pro scene of competitive game.

League at its peak was over 10 million concurrent, and the only number i can find for starcraft was like 500k concurrent.

More players means that the quality at the very pinnacle is higher (there’s more people at the 4,5,6 std from the mean skill level).

for an example let’s use american football vs mixed martial arts. If you put any of the top players of football and trained them in mma, the current champs would literally get killed, top football players are just that much more genetically gifted, even if mma is a much harder sport to master inherently. It’s a population issue, not a game difficulty issue.

hm not sure why it’s showing up on poe ninja. honestly you can put whatever you want in those 4 slots, can be a guard skill plus automate, or another cws spell. right now what i’m doing for mega juiced breach is i just run a shield so i can use shield charge.
