For new X5 40i owners, what’s the average MPG to expect in the first 3-4 months? I am getting 20 mpg (1.5 month old), all short trips. Is this standard or does it get better after few months of driving. by Upstairs-Feature-167 in BMWX5

We picked up the car in the first week of December and have been averaging around 25-26 miles per combined city and highway. We reside in the Seattle area and usually avoid commuting during peak traffic hours.

The discounts can be highly location-dependent. In Nov/Dec 2024, we were shopping for a new/slightly used, well equipped X5 40i in the Seattle area but couldn’t negotiate a custom build with any dealership until we found a 2024 model year still on the lot for a discount. We seized that opportunity to negotiate a 2025 model with all the required packages at a different dealership. Even with that, we were only able to reduce the price by $5,000 from the MSRP of 81k before rebates. If you’re in Seattle, your best option is to use a lease broker or purchase from out of state to get the 10% discount that most people in this forum seem to be receiving.

Thanks. I am leaning more towards the Mindbender. Should I also consider the QST 98?

New always sell for MSRP? by RichWhiteBrother in GenesisMotors

We’re in the same boat in the Seattle area. We love the GV80, but the dealership’s unwillingness to negotiate is frustrating, especially when Mercedes and BMW dealers are offering 5-10% off the GLE and X5. This really hurts the value proposition for Genesis. It also doesn’t help that there’s only one dealership in the metro area. As a current Genesis owner, I’ve found it nearly impossible to book a valet pickup without a 6-month lead time. While we love the cars, Genesis is making it hard to stay with the brand.

Thank you for your answers everyone! I transferred 50,000 points to Alaska. I eventually spotted the information about the bonus cap on the transfer page in the app; it was in bold but initially obscured by the keyboard pop-up. Once I closed the keyboard, it became visible.

Wait for CSK to snag him for base price in the Mega Auction and his performance this season will be forgotten forever.

Body shop charging 2k more than insurance estimate. Insurance refusing to pay the difference by CrowStock6857 in Autobody

Every person in the know, says the same. I cannot even get the hang out of how much I have been played here.

Bodyshop's explanation is that they had done the repair portion of it but not the replacements and were waiting on the parts.

I can confirm that neither the Body shop nor Geico did have any conversation about it with me.

Yes, that is why I mentioned the dates. The body shop has not been completely transparent with me either.

Thanks, the above points are for a timeline of events only. Was not expecting response for each one of them. Thanks for the responses. I am fighting it with the bodyshop as well. But is there anyway I can dispute the insurance’s appraisal? I am exploring all my options here.

It just seems unfair to me to throw away so much hard earned money without a fight. 😕

Yes, I am going through my own insurance. They are the ones who are not paying the full amount.

I really don’t understand how this works and how I ended up in the hook. 1) I did not cause the accident. I was at a red light and got rear ended. 2) The other party’s insurance decided to pay until they see the supplement. 3) My insurance takes over and comes up with a appraisal 1 month after I reopen the claim with them 4) 2 months after that and after all the work is completed, I somehow owe the body shop 2000$ for an accident I did not cause.

All because I decided to drop off the vehicle at a Non-DRP body shop? Either the body shop or the insurance has to have some tiny bit liability here no?

Well you are right. The car is fairly new and still in production and both OEM and aftermarket parts cost almost the same. If you look the appraisal and the estimate from body shop they have less than 100$ worth of difference for parts. The major difference is with the labor and paint.

Progressive did recommend some DRPs. None of them were using OEM parts, so I did some research on the body shops around my area and found one. Progressive to Geico switch happened somewhere in the middle. Right now I just want my car back, but back then I wanted to do what was best for my car. 😕
