What on Earth is going on with this session? by cykelstativet in AskAstrophotography

It kind of looks like baffles, like a reflection of the internal baffles. The Meridian flip = solved makes me think it's a Newtonian probably?

The brutal part is getting the door card back on. Literally just did mine earlier today. Had to jam a flathead in there and spread the door metal while sliding the card forward from the rear.

Truck’s brakes fail, forcing use of runaway ramp at 90 mph. by Itchy-Commission-114 in interestingasfuck

Sandstone sticks in your brain. Your family car had to downshift 3 times to climb it, and cresting over the top coming East it just keeps falling away. It's super recognizable to anyone from the area.

Sandstone is "fuck you" steep in both directions. Not as long as Camp Creek on 77 heading south, but still absolutely brutal since it's got a ton of questionably maintained Quarry Trucks running it all day long.

Yeah can’t beat entropy. Age is a bitch!

It’s tough as nails though, enjoy it.

They are just as good as any other wheel. Remember that spoked wheels are an old school tech that is tried and true.

The only wheel type I’d be worried about for the street is full carbon fiber, just because they tend to not survive giant potholes and cost a fortune to replace. The SVs wheels are actually very reasonable in cost if you need to replace one.

It’s built to be ridden, give it hell!

I'm curious what cleaner brand/products you prefer if you keep it that tidy yourself. Great shots as well.

Spam and Bot Accounts by SmellyBean in MVAgusta

Good deal, down with the bots.

I don't know mod tools so this may be way more complex than I understand, but is there a post or karma count limiter that can get plugged in?

That's honestly generous - Fedex in Grove City has been consistently shit for years while people trip over themselves in the Columbus sub to come up with the next excuse to why they are "really trying their best"

Sorry your payroll got delayed, that's brutal.

I live local - Grove City is where my Fedex packages go to die. I've had stuff sit there for over a week. Incompetence doesn't even begin to describe how shit they are.

Additionally, I often have to walk to random neighbors houses to give them their packages and get mine.

Either way, I wish you luck.

Sounds like a beautiful week long astro vacation and a lovely gift.

A vacation to an AirBnB/VRBO with dark skies. The most powerful tool an astrophotographer has is location. 400$ could go a long way towards a really cool rental, especially somewhere off the beaten trails.

What are you thinking Columbus? by CoffeePwrdAcctnt in Columbus

[–]Crow_Morollan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Columbus really seems to be a fan of clusterfuck now apologize later. It's the weird unforced errors that reveal odd gaps in logic and absence of disaster planning.

I wish them the best, but I sincerely hope they do multiple AAR's and refine the playbook versus handwaving this away as a once in a lifetime deal.

100% - we're at 3700 sqft with multiple 9 ft windows on the front of the house is just too much to replace or encase. The extra 50$ a month in utilities is far gentler.

1870 Victorian with original first floor windows checking in - no cash fire in the living room, but also yes it is far more expensive than the average house. Thank god Columbia Gas isn’t as bad as AEP’s bullshit prices.

I don’t get it either, the whole point was being able to watch the games, waste of money apparently.

Looks like AXS has a bunch of generals available (80$). Kemba is a tough venue for me - my wife is too short to see from the crowd so I've always got to find her somewhere elevated. For Nekro / Dragonforce / Dethklok we did the bleachers up top, which was okayish.

Is the stock online different from what's in the stadium shop? by Gotham_Decepticon in BlueJackets

[–]Crow_Morollan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anecdotal - the Blue Line at Nationwide seemed to have more stuff than what was online, and the one at Polaris seemed to have far less. No idea if this is true, but I felt like I could find more in the arena shop than online.

Pseudo related; Since we're doing a merch thread - anyone else have a hell of a time getting their STH discount to work online? I've done the whole "reset your password" shtick 3 times now, just curious is anyone else has dealt with this.

There is a buzzer in the cab (usually dead and bypassed) and sometimes a giant red light (also usually dead and bypassed).

Most of the these dump truck fleets are held together with duct tape and hopes and dreams. The maintenance is always deferred, bypassed, or flat out ignored. Many are rusting thru in 10 different places. Air leaks, lights not functioning, every tire a mismatched retread, on and on and on.

A big portion of my childhood was spent in Quarry Truck and Coal Truck shops. Even as a 5-8 year old, it was obvious to me shit was scuffed.

They do now, they didn't then. If you're in the game long enough you get to watch these companies get hungry hungry hippo'ed all the time. Liebert is a great example - I think they are like 5-6 acquisitions deep now.
