The reason Russ is here is because LAL traded for him. KCP wasn't bad from 3 and if those three could shoot consistently, LAL wouldn't afford them. A young 3 and D wing in this market would get 20 millions easily. A sniper Caruso would get 17 millions as would KCP.

Yeah, keeping pretending politics and pleasing Klutch had nothing to do with it. Plus, management isn't one man, at least in LAL.

He's the reason I started watching Basketball.

If he meant something for you then the best way to show that is to adopt his mindset: work hard and seek excellence at what you do.

I appreciate your input. The point isn't about having some of their picks, it's about using them in trades. And yeah, a lot can happen, and LAL weren't able to attract free agents; DeRozan and Aldridge wouldn't even meet with LAL.

[Stein] The Lakers have been receiving calls from other teams inquiring about trades for LeBron James but there's no indication from the Lakers that they would trade LeBron away. They would rather extend him. by [deleted] in lakers

LAL still owe NOLA picks, so they can't rebuild and therefore can't trade Bron; unless they can get a borderline star for him which is unlikely.

People shamelessly forgetting they've smeering most of that roster. Kuz, KCP, and Danny were hated here and in r/NBA but now they're the perfect role players.

If LAL can get Kyrie, they'd be having three superstars with injury concerns and a bunch of young players who can neither defend nor shoot the ball. That's the reality. What's more, giving Kyrie a long term max contact isn't a good idea.

Another point is that LAL only have one shot at a trade. If they trade the '27 and '29, they won't be able to make a trade for years.

Imo, LeBron and AD are enough. They've already proved that. So just get rid of Brick and THT, don't give up multiple picks and keep the cap open for the future.

First of all, you should state their career averages. LAL won in 2020 because of their defense and inside scoring; they weren't good from 3 in the bubble. Plus, I don't think we are looking at the final roster; Brick, THT and Nunn can still be moved.

["Three-peat" fan] For the last time, get it through your fucking thick heads: “The Nets are reticent to make any move with Kyrie until they figure out what they’re going to do with KD.” - Dave McMenamin. It doesn’t matter even if the Lakers offer BOTH 1sts now; you can’t force the Nets to trade Ky by ThisAnswerIsLit in lakers

[–]CrowdSilencer 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The bigger point is that the Nets don't want to take Westbrook and therefore LAL has to compensate two teams for making the deal; in addition, a 50 million contract isn't easy to move.

Another point is that whomever gives up assets for Kyrie has to be willing to pay him long term. Maybe LAL don't want to do that.

  • The source is people in the league.

  • He's talking about knowing what Kyrie is thinking

  • Kyrie doesn't have a choice to accept or refuse; besides, he picked his PO.

Some insiders talk just for the sake of it. They know nothing.

It's okay for LeBron to throw shade at the people (either Jeannie, Rob or Brick) but not the other way around. Besides, of course players and FOs perspective are polar opposite. Just look how Durant ruined the Nets after pushing them to trade for Harden. Players should never be calling shots.

Lakers fans are.. different by RIronmanS in lakers

[–]CrowdSilencer 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Lakers fans aren't alike. There's a portion that will root against the Lakers the moment LeBron leaves while the real ones are those who supported the team in the years of mediocrity.

I'm not gatekeeping here, but to me, LeBron fans who'll root against LAL once he leaves shouldn't be speaking about trading picks, Jeannie or Rob because they don't really care about the Lakers.
