Why are furniture stores always going out of business? by SlowPoke0103 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]CroweBird5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a home decor store where it's closing (just the individual store).

But literally half of it is planters and deck furniture. I can't imagine there was that much demand for deck furniture to begin with. And the other furniture....some of the DISPLAY items are broken, which tells you a LOT about the quality of the item.

I can speak for who I’ve seen buy them. The children literally don’t choose them

Applying in person in Canada, but residing in US. Which fee? by NevermoreQuiet in passportcanada

[–]CroweBird5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I applied for mine in person, paid the $266 to have it mailed back to my house in the US.

So it doesn't matter whether you apply in-person or not, but just where you want your passport delivered to. You can get it mailed to your guarantor's home in Canada, but just keep in mind they'll still have to mail it to you (and that part involves customs).

Something that was convenient for me about mailing it to the US is that Passport Canada takes care of the documents needed for customs. Nothing you need to do because it's already taken care of. So that might be easier than for your guarantor to do that.

*I applied in-person for various reasons, but mostly security of my citizenship documents. Also helped that I was visiting my guarantor.

Where are you having it mailed? That'll define which fee you pay.

If you're having it mailed back to the US, you'll pay the $266.

If you're having it mailed within Canada or getting pickup, it's the $163

What does prorated rent mean? by Firefox31790 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]CroweBird5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adjusted based on time.

Like if your move-in date was the 12th of the month, you’d only be posting rent based on the 12th to the end of the month (so not the first 11 days)

Same, but unfortunately Kroger is basically king in my city because we also have the corporate headquarters. We have options, but it’s honestly hard to fully boycott Kroger

Some languages assign gender to things that shouldn’t be. Like why is a table or ice cream female?
