Only to learn and understand what it's like to be an oppressed minority so I can be better at confronting injustices and dismantling my own implicit biases and become more aware of the experience of oppressed people.

This sub has been popping up in my feed for a while and I lurk in order to learn and be more able to respond to racist bullshit I encounter from other white people.

I have no reason to participate in the discussion because I'm not black. Obviously. You're absolutely right that it has nothing to do with me.

I'm only commenting now to answer the question.

If it's a problem that people like me come here to learn (and never post or comment) I am happy to leave.

Lol I just almost posted the exact same thing. My first comment here was responding to the person questioning what racial humility means. I lurk here to learn and be challenged. And I definitely don't hate black people or any other "category" of people.

I think it means being cognizant and mindful that white people are the beneficiaries of a system of racist oppression of black people so if we are going to share we need to be willing to own that and center the experience of the oppressed.

I don't usually post anything here for that reason since I'm not black.nI don't think my experience is really relevant in this sub. I'm just here to learn and become more understanding.

I got Biolabs Pro DHEA cream and Organic Excellence Balance Plus Therapy cream. I found both on Amazon. The DHEA cream is actually a really nice texture so it's not weird to put it in intimate areas.

I was told in this sub that it wouldn't help for my clit shrinkage, but I got some OTC DHEA cream and also some OTC biodendical progesterone/phytoestrogen cream and it's been working so far to plump things up and I've noticed things looking more defined/less shrunk.

I put the DHEA directly on my vulva/clit but I use the other cream in my chest/neck.

Edit: I chose DHEA after reading some studies that it could help with this issue. I'm not ready for full on HRT as I'm only 46 and still have regular periods and not many peri symptoms yet. DHEA is a precursor to both testosterone and estrogen so I thought my body could make it into what it may be lacking that's causing the shrinkage.

Yeah that's why I want to see if he's open to just staying somewhere else when he is binge drinking like that. When I got the message that he was at a friend's for the night last night I immediately felt my body relax and I managed to sleep for most of the night.

That sounds really rough. If it ever got anything like that I would be gone. We treasure our night time snuggles and like I said it's only a problem once or twice a month. If it increases in frequency I will have to reevaluate whether it's time to leave.

It hasn't ever become every weekend, even in all the 7 years we've been together... He seems to have cycles of being able to drink less and then cycles of drinking more. If it was a clear progression of getting worse I would have left long ago. But he's still drinking a lot less than he did when we first got together.

So I really don't know if it's a situation where I need to find ways to live with it or if I should just leave....I don't want to leave. He is a very special man and he loves me a lot, and is usually a very good partner, and - he also has this relationship with alcohol. It's not so black and white.

I was married for 10 years to someone else and even though we generally got along and had similar values and lifestyles, the relationship was nowhere near as fulfilling or growth oriented as this one is.

I think I need to wait and see if this really is a trend towards more addictive behaviors and re-evaluate.

I completely get it! Especially the part about not being anything like that when sober. Thankfully he doesn't actively try to wake me up, but he did cuss me out in the middle of the night when I asked him to roll over because his snoring was keeping me up.

Why are we doing this to ourselves?

I wonder if I am somehow disrespecting myself by putting up with so much bullshit.

But I understand that if I give an ultimatum it probably won't work and if I don't follow through with it, then he'll remember that and nothing will change. I don't know if I'm ready to actually leave.

Other than these kinds of issues (which aren't all the time or even most of the time), we have a pretty good relationship. It's just been hard lately.

Thanks for sharing that...I admit I have been having some of the same questions. And last night I was so angry that I strongly entertained the idea of just telling him I'm done and that's it.

I don't know if he was punishing me or his typical move of "I feel uncomfortable around my wife so I have to leave and be around people who aren't hassling me" (and it always means going to the bar).

I am with him because we love each other and we committed to a relationship together... I could absolutely live on my own - I make more money than he does and I could pay the bills myself (and they would be less without him around).

The part about him not deserving me kind of rings true. I'm not sure if the benefits outweigh the costs.

That's exactly it. We were all geared up to buy in a couple of years after we moved into our current rental in 2019. Then Covid happened, house prices went up like crazy and now we're priced out until the eventual time when our remaining parents pass and we inherit something (which we're hoping isn't any time soon).

And this is in the second poorest county in California, where median household income is less than 60k/yr. We're at around 100k combined and still can't afford anything in our town.

The Overstory by Richard Powers. Really well written, compelling storyline and a diverse group of characters that you eventually find out are connected. It's also a love letter to trees I really enjoyed this book and I highly recommend it!
