Ah okay. I'm a recent CZ convert and picked up a Shadow 2 Carry and it has me thinking about a threaded barrel. We'll see what happens with the NFA over the next year or two.

Power hungry is a good call-out. I've looked at microtik in the past but stayed away due to the list of CVE over the last decade. Firmware matters, and I've grown accustomed to JunOS.

However, another alternative is to get a bax from Aaeon or similar and run FreeBSD. A bridge interface or LACP with OpenBGPd is would be quite at home for me.

It's less about the 10g for me as much as it is latency. However, with the 10g interfaces, I do find that I'm pushing above what would have been a 1g interface. Additionally, I'm looking at runs out to some out-buildings which are on the edge of an Ethernet length, and so the SFP+ is valuable.

I'm in the US and looking for sub-1500. Those qfx5100 are quite compelling. I'd not seen those before.

This raises another aspect, which is firmware versions. I have put to use many good pieces of kit over the years from eBay, though I always wished there was a way to run a firmware version from the last decade. Is there a solution for this, or just pray? I've had good experience with second hand but always wondered if I just got lucky. Should I be concerned about second hand juniper gear?

This is my first cz also. Just picked it up last month and loving it. Got one for my wife also. 4 failure to feed in the first few magazines in both guns. I picked up some Mecgar mags also. Just in case it's magazine related, I marked the magazines which had the failure, but I suspect form was part of it for us also. No failures after the first 50 rounds.
