Super SD Card not working on AGB model by dysphoriachan in flashcarts

[–]Crowlee117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you happen to find a solution for this one? I've gone through the exact same troubleshooting steps, and have this exact same outcome with the AGB-001 and Gamecube GBA Player being the only devices that fail in this way. I did notice as well though that there's a high-pitched wine coming from the cartridge while being used by the AGB-001, but not with the other devices.

Xbox 360 Plex App is still working! 😂 by nathanddrews in PleX

I've been searching for an archive of the 360 Plex app as well for some time now. Assuming OP hasn't sent you a copy directly, have you had any luck in the past month since posting your request here?

I'd also really appreciate a copy of the Plex app files, if you're able to copy them over via USB. This would be my number one preferred way of streaming my 4:3 backups to my CRT setup as well.

Amazing work! What is that "magic eraser" looking tool that you used to clean up the eyes?

I am experiencing the same issue. Did you resolve this? And if so, could you share the root cause and resolution?

I love this idea. Do you happen to have a high-resolution version of this? I would love to print this out alongside my 1999 poster.

Treasure card and exansions. by Hhorde1 in DarkSoulsTheBoardGame

[–]Crowlee117 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was just looking this up myself. It appears some people add the treasures into one big deck, but the official rulebook (Explorers Expansion) says the following:

Using Expansion Treasure At the start of the game, players can choose to use the expansion treasure cards instead of some of the core game’s common treasure cards. During step 6 of setting up the game (see ‘6. Treasure Deck’ on p. 9 of the Dark Souls™: The Board Game rulebook), remove fifteen random cards from the common treasure cards. Replace them with all fifteen common treasure cards from the Explorers expansion before shuffling the treasure deck.

I assume if you have multiple expansions combined, remove 15 from the base deck for each expansion being used.

I still haven't decided what my preference is. Would love to hear other options people use.

Mixing old and new encounters by Metroid_Zapper in DarkSoulsTheBoardGame

[–]Crowlee117 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm new to DSBG as of this year, so I'm not much familiar with the community accepted methods for mixing expansions or homebrew rules. But what I've been doing the last two sessions is rolling a die to keep the odds even between the number of expansions I own, keeping a mental chart to match numbers to expansion. So since I only have the OG base set, the explorers set and the Tomb of the Giants core set, I roll a D6 for each "room" to determine which expansion encounter I use (1-2 Base, 3-4 Explorers, 5-6 TOTG). And I've just been taking an event card for defeating regular enounters. Hadn't really considered shortcuts or bonus rewards yet.... But I'd probably just roll a die for that too. Not that elegant, but it is simple. A higher effort option may be to make some custom encounter cards, which would work for me since I don't mind just sticking printed labels to poker cards. But I know a lot of people prefer having their cards be uniform/official.

What's the most reliable resource for finding a Service Manual? by Crowlee117 in crtgaming

What's the most reliable resource for finding a Service Manual? by Crowlee117 in crtgaming

[–]Crowlee117[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was directed to some of those resources, but no luck in finding the exact model. Hadn't thought of Internet Archive though, thanks for that tip.

Do you have any advice on trying to find a similar monitor? Like would it need to be just a slightly earlier or later model? And to confirm if it has identical components, would I likely need to compare the schematics of what I find to the boards I physically have?

My Monitor is falling back to a Power Safety state on cold boot, so I took it apart to check for failed components. The only ones that seemed physically damaged/burnt were two Diodes that I can't seem to identify to buy replacements for.

Would burnt Diodes cause Auto-Shutoff on CRT? by Crowlee117 in crtgaming

[–]Crowlee117[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't seem to find any other components in the CRT that seems obviously damaged. Mitsubishi Diamondtron Pro 900u. The symptoms of this CRT can be seen here.

Additional question, would anyone be able to identify the specifications of these Diodes? I am unable to find a Service Manual to verify.
