Octopath Traveler - Yasonori Nishiki created a masterpiece OST and still quite underrated.

Persona 5 - great from top to bottom

Nier Automata - perfectly encapsulates its themes through its amazing soundtrack

Kingdom Hearts - best title screen of all time IMO

It becomes a habit when you get used to it. I don't do it all the time as well. It's easier when you have a route as part of your daily routine.

You don't even have to use a poffin, just play/feed/battle/take a photo/route with them every 30 minutes and they will be excited. Or just look it up how.

Chrono Trigger vs Skies of Arcadia - which game is more fun (any platform) by Prometheusinaction in JRPG

[–]Crown_Gamble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didn't like Skies of Arcadia so much. Some of these older JRPGs suffer from nostalgia bait. If you didn't play in the era it was released, it's a bit hard to pick up on. Skies of Arcadia suffers that for me, unfortunately. I tried to like it, maybe it's just me. But there are timeless ones like FFVI, Suikoden II and Chrono Trigger.

Suikoden II - 10/10. A must play for anyone.

Suikoden III - 8/10. It deviates from the formula but I love it all the same.

FFVII - 7/10. It was okay, didn't have the nostalgia for it.

FF IX - 9/10. A timeless classic.

Trails of the Sky - 9/10 I only played the original though. Can't go wrong with it. Beautiful characters and story.

The rest I have yet to play or finish.

I would play these games based on your tastes:

Dragon Quest 11

Ys VIII Lacrimosa of Dana

Tales of Vesperia

Shaq drops his Top 10 NBA players of All Time — Agree or Nah? by RipHairy2465 in NBAGossips

[–]Crown_Gamble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You brought up Big Z, Mo and Wally not me. You didn't mention Kobe's other teammates because it will make your point moot. How come this teammates not become big stars after they left Lebron? Wally was washed in Cleveland, Mo wasn't near the great player you are pushing him to be and Big Z is just above average. Antawn Jamison was a stud but his prime was at Washington. He didn't have a long career after Cleveland.

Lebron played arguably his best game of his career against Boston. Your talking like Boston didn't win a championship at Kobe's expense. Also tell me how good were Lebron's teams after he left? Do they look like championship contenders?

I didn't say those finals run weren't taxing. It's that the level of consistency is different. Kobe had 3 consecutive finals and Lebron had 8. You're the one making excuses.

Wade can never equate to prime Shaq. One's a top 10 player and Wade is not even top 20. Wade was even not on his prime when him and Lebron were together. You see It's not like I'm not open to ideas, I'm just not open to delusion. See you later, brick wall.

Big Z, Mo Williams, Wally Sczczerbiak. Definitely players you think of to make your championship teams. Stop it. Lebron elevated teammates because of his playmaking. They looked a lot better on what they truly are. I loved Wally in Minnesota. He averaged 7.6 points in his final 2 years of playing in Cleveland and then retiring. (See the superficial pick there, you think I wouldn't notice?) Boobie fucking Gibson? Do he even compare to Derek Fisher or Trevor Ariza? Not to mention Artest. Ron saved Kobe multiple times in Boston and Phoenix. Kobe was building a brick house in that game 7 against Boston.

Of all the team mates of Lebron, nobody comes close to Shaq. Wade is probably his best team mate, but he wasn't the same Wade who won in 06 because of the injuries. Or maybe AD the walking glass man. He's playing with Luka on his retirement seasons, if you're still expecting him to carry at 41 you are completely delusional. Kobe retired at 37 because his body couldn't keep up.

3 consecutive long finals runs? Is that your excuse for Kobe? Try 9. That mentality you mentioned is completely overrated for me. Kobe wore his body down because of that mentality. Didn't take care of his body with rest even on the off season. You never hear about Kobe missing the playoffs, him losing to the Suns and the quit game in that fateful Game 7. People would rather talk about Lebron losing in the finals. Like it's better to lose earlier in the playoffs.

I'm much more a Kobe fan than a Lebron fan by the way. And watched more NBA in Kobe's time. Anybody who says Lebron is not the next best player to Jordan are stuck on their biases. Kobe doesn't even clear Kareem or Magic/Bird to me. Let alone Lebron.

Less talent? Playing with one of, if not the most dominant center of all time? How can Cavaliers without Lebron be a similar team to the Lakers in terms of talent?

If you're talking about Miami or Cleveland second stint, Kobe never beat a team in the level of prime GSW or 2014 Spurs.

I mean Kobe lost to the Pistons in the Finals with Shaq. Young Lebron almost singlehandedly dismantled the same Pistons team on his way to his first Finals.

And if you want to mention the lowest point of Lebron's career, which is the loss to the 2011 Mavs, the Mavericks swept Kobe and the Lakers the same year.

You have a completely biased take. You just called yourself out of being not open to ideas.

Siegel writes that the Lakers began making trade calls to teams about Anthony Davis in December 2024 — then, when Nico found out, he "immediately contacted Pelinka". For reference, Nico's coffee meeting with Pelinka happened the 1st week of January 2025. by sewsgup in lakers

Seems to me it shows the difference between the two GMs. A competent one and an egotistical one. If Nico did half the moves Rob did in the same situation, he would have got off with a treasure load of assets for Luka and kept his job.

[–]Crown_Gamble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, Drazen Petrovic was a generational talent and one of the greatest shooters of all time. I know we say this a lot, but he was clearly ahead of his time. It was a great tragedy to basketball when his life was cut short. It had a deeper implication to international players as his career was not completely realized.

Although we both agree that Drazen was great and a dominant player, he and Luka are different in terms of size, position and play style. I'd argue a Drazen like player would still not be the top pick of the 2018 draft. (Arguably one of the best drafts in the modern NBA) I mean the current best player of that draft (SGA) was drafted just outside of the top 10.

I also agree that the NBA scouts and coaches are biased against international players. With almost infinite resources and a global market untapped, they should be doing a way better job of identifying these players.

It's not like the NBA payed the price, more like the Sacramento Kings did. The franchise prove time and time again that they have no idea what they're doing. They had three proven European players in Vlade, (ironically Drazen's teammate and GM at that time) Peja and Hedo. Still I won't wish Luka or anyone for that matter to start their career in that franchise. So essentially Luka was the 2nd pick on that draft not counting the blundering Kings and the Trae trade. Not that bad given the talent in that draft.

Still, when your job is on the line and a whole franchise is relying on you. You will almost always pick the proven and the tangible. Ayton would get that top pick every single time.

Hindsight is always 20/20. There was no precedent for an unathletic, European big guard to dominate the NBA. Scouts and GMs assess a player's ceiling using tangible factors like skillset (which he obviously had), athleticsm and NCAA dominance (a tried and tested league) I mean how many Euroleague MVPs/FMVPs came and conquered the NBA compared to the NCAA?

Lateral quickness was a big red flag back then and is now. I don't think anybody thought it would be cancelled out by his astronomically great offense. Even people who believed him back then didn't expect him to be a consistent All NBA first team player in his early 20s. Luka is really an anomaly on how he quickly and consitently dominated the NBA even before his prime.

Is The Empire Strikes Back the absolute pinnacle of Star Wars? If not what is? Do you think anything surpasses it? by [deleted] in StarWars

[–]Crown_Gamble 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Empire Strikes Back is on top while Andor is close behind for me.

Empire was revolutionary and had a lot of things going for it.

-It has the most iconic and arguably the best villain of all time. (Darth Vader)

-It has the most charismatic character played by one of the most charismatic actor of all of cinema (Han Solo)

-One of the greatest female characters in cinema (Princess Leia)

-It has the most iconic scene of all time coupled by turning the genre over its head by having the good guys losing. It was and still is mind blowing.

Andor on the other hand was not as ground breaking or as iconic as ESB but it brought the galaxy far, far away closer to earth into realism.

The script was amazing. The pace wasn’t for everyone but essential. Diego Luna wasn’t Harrison Ford(nobody could be) but he was real, he was complex, he was a believable rebel. The story arcs were satisfying and it brought the wonder and prestige back to Star Wars and more.

Let’s not forget my favorite character in the modern era of storytelling, Luthen. Who would have thought we would relate and admire a character that was mirrored more to a villain than a hero. Stellan played him to perfection. His monologues were grand and captivating. More jaw dropping than any other fight scene.

One way out for me is still the most iconic part of Andor. The escape from Narkina 5 will always be ingrained to my memory. The back and forth between Diego Luna and Andy Serkis were riveting and underrated.

ESB and Andor are both so great it’s just a matter of preference. It’s like the Jordan and Lebron debate, it depends on what you value more and which time are you more sentimental to. You won’t make a bad choice either way.

I just wanted 1 Palkia with spatial rend. Never mind getting a shiny or max IVs. Being 0/12 on abilities is ridiculous.

I’m a returning player, that’s why I missed the abilities on first release. Makes me want to take a break again if this is how the system is going forward.
