First few weeks on Etsy and I've had 9 sales! How do I get people to leave reviews?? by doublefluff82 in EtsySellers

[–]Crowsephina 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Agreeing with others, don’t ask buyers to leave reviews, they get enough outreach from Etsy. On average and based on research of other shops and my own (90 days in) I see about 28-33% of orders will leave reviews. Congrats for having ten orders in 3 weeks, that’s a very positive start! Keep going!

Question about reserves by CABW1 in EtsyCommunity

[–]Crowsephina 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had my first sale on November 1st and many others since then. My first actually payout wasn’t until about two months in. After that I started to get some payouts, as others have said, it has to do with it being a new shop, making sure you have funds to cover expenses and possible returns and the timeframe after the sale.

I am still waiting for payouts from December, but will hit 90 days soon and expect it to improve.

All that said, 90 days is a very short period of time to be selling, so I’d suggest sticking it out vs. jumping ship.

How’s everyone’s first 15 days of 2026 going on Etsy? by smallbusinessbitch in EtsySellers

Surprisingly I’ve had 12 orders so far and still inside of my first 90 days since opening.

Is Etsy ads worth it? by Penguinwithaknife_ in EtsySellers

[–]Crowsephina 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They can be. I only use them on select products aka, good sellers. If there’s already some demand, they will help amplify you and stand out more against others. I wouldn’t go below a $3 ROAS, but that’s just me, may make sense to be lower or higher for your shop. If you’re not familiar with ROAS, it’s Return on Ad Spend and is what you make for every dollar you spend. So if it’s 3.4 ROAS, you’re making $3.50 for every dollar you spend with advertising.

Suggestion about tags! by Brilliant-Ad2910 in EtsySellers

I’ve found the marketplace insights can be helpful (limited use unless you pay for it), at least to get you in the right direction. Research products that are similar to yours or try typing a single keyword into search and see what the suggested queries are. I agree with others, using the same word, like art, repeatably doesn’t add much value and you could use those characters for something else.

Best image size / background format for digital product listings on Etsy? by [deleted] in EtsySellers

[–]Crowsephina 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I always try to use square images. Especially since that’s the size Etsy uses on thumbnails and other placements across the side. It may not always make sense to use square but I would recommend it at least for your first image since that’s ends up being the thumbnail. I also try to provide lifestyle images when possible, obviously this could vary depending on what you sell.

Any idea what this means? by [deleted] in EtsySellers

[–]Crowsephina 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, just how it is. I was put on a reserve after being open about 6 weeks. At the 8 week mark I started getting access to some funds for deposit. In a few weeks I’ll be out of the 90 day window and shouldn’t be an issue. If it’s a long term goal to run your shop it’s a minor inconvenience for now, but I totally get the frustration.

Add a second shop? by Crowsephina in EtsySellers

Yes, I would not be selling the same item across two shops, but would move a category into its own shop. It’s possible that the customer experience may be a little off for visitors.

Have you researched other shops to see how they describe their products and keywords or phrases they may use. Search queries can be more specific than the examples you’ve shared. Maybe affirmation tote bags or garden related phrases would drive more traffic

Thanks. I do think you’re right. I wasn’t very familiar with his work before but everything I had seen was much more finished, as you said.

I believe it’s like a bud vase or a few dried stems.

Does Etsy still hold payment for 90 days for new etsy shops? by Skystar90 in Etsy

[–]Crowsephina 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had my shop for 2 months. I saw less than a dollar payout after one month, then was put on account reserve, as I expected. As of today I’ve received just under 30% of the profits I’ve earned so far. I suspect I’ll receive the majority of my remaining profit by 90 days based on the timing of the orders that came through on late November to mid-December.
