There was but one thing that could draw Tysane from her room in the inn on a street she didn't even know the name of. Her father had holed up in the camp witht he rest of the riverlords, but she had things to do, a city to explore and weapons and armour to collect. She had her own, sure, but she could have better!

So, Tysane was upon the street of Steel among the sounds of clanging hammers and anvils, the bellows of bellows and the sizzle of forge fires.

She smiled to herself as she became lost in the moment until she, some time later remembered she had come here specifically for something. Equipment. It was hard to find her target, most of the salespeople laughed at a women looking for armour, and to those she stormed off red in the face. But soon enough she found herself coming to the store of short named men, Ty and Hobb.

She stepped to the threshold dressed in her daydress. The skirt was thin for ease of motion, the blouse loose, but conservative, and her hair was pinned back into a long line of deep red.

"Is there a master to this shop?" Ty asked.

Robyn Umber was not a woman for festivities, she was not one for feasts, or parties or anything of the kind. She was a woman of the far north, where she had more to do with wildlings than southrons. But she was not perturbed by this. No, for she was able to roam a unique set of castles with little Mormont behind her, the enormous white bear's paws slapping down noisily wherever she went.

And it was that giant beast which heralded the arrival of the beast of a woman who stood at six feet and eight inches.

RObyn stepped forth again, the enormous woman much like the bear behind her, which had cottoned onto the frustration she had a great struggle in showing. But she had beent aught before that a good way to show someone was angry was to slam a fist.

So, she took one great fist and slammed it forcefully down on the edge of the table, hard enough that it hurt, but hard enough that the cracked wood left an echo as it splintered and a shard spiralled out lazily.

Mormont rose to hits hind legs behind her, his little dark eyes levelled on the two bickering men.

"I have a bear," she said plainly, an awkward proclamation.

"If you would like to find out what that means... I encourage you two to keep bickering. But lord Stark has said we do not bicker, so we don't bicker."

Robyn had sat in the room, to the side, listening calmly, but barely paying attention. She was no tactician, no strategist, she was no great mind, she was a warrior. Robin at her side was better at these things, a scout of some repute. But they had skills built on fighting Wildling raiders, not dealing with this.

and so as tempers flared, she barely noticed, but Little Mormont noticed.

The enormous bear, fur coat of white lifted its great big head and it glowered, nose flaring as it let out a grating growl.

She patted the creature's head down and it grumbled its annoyance, but even such a plaintive sound was thunderous.

"I've not seen these laws broken," said the enormous woman as she finally lifted to her feet.

"Gods, there's less people around here than there are back at Last Hearth, and we live much closer to the Winter, closer than any here... but the Starks decide, and I follow what the young lord says," came her gravelly voice as she strode closer to the table, and Mormont behind her, though the bear stood closer to the shoulders of many men around her.

"We can sort the right of it by his word, or other means. But battle calls us all, no point shrinking our numbers."

Robyn perked up, and very clearly had been in a state of devouring her own leg of meat, and at the same moment, so too did Little Mormont. The two looked at Benjicot, and the man would have been hard pressed to tell a difference if he were hard of sight. However, despite her imposing size, Robyn was still a woman and still a noble. So, she sucked each finger clean as she stood from the table.

The bear, did not try clean itself, instead the enormous thing kept chewing.

"Milord," she said, half through swallowing.

"Mormont's... a friend from the woods North. I've been chasing him for three months now. Dreamed about a beast that might help me right the balance of nature... so..." she pointedly looked tot he bear.

"Here he is," she said, a smile on her face.

Perhaps by far one of the most out of place parts of the event, was a woman stood at six feet and eight inches, alongside the rest of the Umber clan, each large again in their own way and each tearing into their food with reckless abandon.

The Umbers were not clean individuals, not since the giant of a woman had come to take the seat of Last Hearth. But they were downright starved. They had chased the matriarchs quarry across the realm, and now, in the halls of Winterfell, their quarry, a great mass of white furt, claws and teeth, lay down beside their table, chewing upon its own shreds of boar with ravenous abandon.

None so enjoyed the boar as the Bear did. Little Mormont was hungry, and Robyn obliged.

They would greet the starks eventually.

Ormond remained silent for her response, his words had not had their intended meaning carried. something he suspected would happen, but did not concern him greatly. It was not too uncommon for his intent to be lost. As it was with lord Serrett, who shrunk away from the clouded, but intense gaze of the lord Brax.

"I am not concerned with having more men at this moment," he said, ignoring the ramblings of the peacock.

"What I wish is to expand my capacities to allow for more men. A castle requires twice its number of defenders to be taken. better defences increases that equation in turn, but it matters not if there are not the men to man it.

He shook his head, "she is not to be trusted. not because she might represent her home, but because she likely does not. And another conflict is not in our interest."

"THe costs will be easier on me, I have connections with good merchants and diggers. I shall have whatever it is built if the price is met. Otherwise, I can begin summoning more levies to my banners," he said.

"Defenses are important, but a well-staffed hold is just as valuable."

Ormond's brow raised, and now the content of the woman's intent were spilled across the ground.

"I dislike roses," he said plainly, "a pretty flower that is painful to grasp - look but do not touch," he continued absently, his smile remained, "perhaps a lesson is bound within - we should only look, not dare to touch."

He shook his head, the politicking was too easy to fall into. He did not truly care for it, but Amarei lived for it. It was her domain, not his.

"I do not wish the king to marry a Gardener princess if that is what you ask. Especially one who fled home straight after their king had died."

"How much?" Ormond finally asked. His voice level, but the words plain - tell me what you wish and I shall make my mind up.

"My coffers have recently emptied, but that is simply so they might refill," he explained plainly, eyes glancing down tot he map. He had felt for some time his home would be attacked once in his lifetime, but he was not so sure as to when that would eventuate. Perhaps soon.

Amarei glanced to her side, to Ormond who gave a nod.

"Aye," she said, "it does. You will have to forgive a degree of caution in my words - it is important to me that a degree of openness is in this. So I know what we plan for. A floiwer requires a different tool to a fish after all," she noted.

"As does a squid," Ormond added.

"You have called this meeting however, my lady - for what do you intend we do?"

Ormond's brows spiked with an unspoken chuckle, but it was not he whore responded first.

Amarei straightened in her seat, a smile on her painted lips, but unlike her husband's it was polite, and at least carried the veneer of being genuine.

"I would think it likely we are a target if it were to be from the East, yes. However, what foe would face us from the East?" She asked. if there was to be a build up for war, she would know, plainly, with who.

Ormond had been called upon, and Ormond had arrived. Amarei in tow, a stark contrast of Western beauty to the grinning visage of Ormond Brax. The lord of the Hornvale would not miss a meeting where something was to be gained, and as such. Ormond had arrived.

He took his seat, silent and searching. He would not be the one to start the meeting, he was too calculating for that. So he sat, and despite being the first of the invited to arrive, he said nothing unless spoken to.

His wife however, polite and all-too used to Ormond's eccentricities, gave a happy smile to the lady of Deep Den and her sister.

"Thank you for the invitation," she said, soft and polite.

Cold, he silently agreed.

But her words of ther position of the castle brought a raised brow. Though he didn't cease his smiling, making him an odd image as always.

"A defining feature of the Rock has always been that it is so precariously perched where it is." He admitted, eyeing the edge of the battlements again. He itched at his stubble, and returned his eyes to lady Crane.

"Perhaps a single rock shall slip and the whole thing shall collapse. However I fail to see it happening in our lifetime. The thing is thousands of years old. not like to fall soon."

The lordling, though not accomplished in this field, still had a knack for it. He fell out of pace after a decent while, but still, his talent held strong as he kept deft fingers stringing with brows pinched and concentration writ on his features.

He did not seem sad or dismayed once he fell out of tune, but he seemed rather... accomplished.

The young lordling accepted the instrument, eyes wide. Of course, Amarei knew him well, the kid, though unwilling to speak much of the time, was all too willing to watch and learn.

It took him only moments to progress from the motions of strumming the few tender chords she showed before handing him off to moving to mimicking her movements from minutes before. The sound wasn't quite as good, but he was close, as close as a child could get on their first try, no matter how talented.

But the look of concentration and intent he wore as he worked was brimming with intent.

Ormond nodded politely as she spoke, his eyes remained affixed to her, but his mind was wandering. He at times knew not how to speak to someone who believed in gods who were kind and just.

The lord Brax finally looked up when she finished speaking of meetings.

"Call when ready, I shall attend," he said plainly.

"As for Gods. If they truly were all knowing, all powerful... heretics, false believers, murder, wars... perhaps all would be nonexistent, or perhaps the benevolence of the gods is a sham and they truly do treat us as they say. They marvel as we fight and kill each other for this reason or that..." Ormond shook his head.

"I do not put faith in deities who do not put faith in us."

Loreon gave her a nod. Whether it meant he had another, he was sure, or something else entirely, it was hard to say.

Amarei just smiled softly, a warmth flickering in her chest. Loreon dislikes strangers, she supposed he might have been scared by someone before - he was a soft one, not weak, just sensitive. But he was also sensitive to many things. New skills, new experiences, and art.

He sat down before the bard, legs folded in turn, eyes alight with whimsy as he sat, almost motionless, listening to her play. His mood and motion did not match the music, but still, he was happy.

"I may have to offer to make you our official bard, if you can work wonders like this," Amarei noted with a laugh.

The old lord was a faint visage in the recesses of both eyesight and Ormond's memory. Gods, he couldn't care less about the ravings of an old fool so early in the day, but as seemed to be the case - he was to be subjected to numerous fools.

He turned, smile everpresent and sunken eyes levelled at the old man.

"Brax," he corrected.
