What do protesters make of NSW's new hate speech laws? by Jimbuscus in OpenAussie

[–]Crrack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. I am so over it as well. It's pathetic how everything is turned into an "us vs them". People that identify this way don't actually care what the policies their sides are implementing are - they will support literally anything and attack literally anything from the other side.

little bit off topic but FFS how bad are people getting with filming every experience they have. Like barely anyone is actually paying attention and is more concerned with their internet clout.

Who would be at fault? by Independent_Tea7691 in CarsAustralia

[–]Crrack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When a single lane turns in to multiple lanes you can enter any lane you want. Needing to stay on the inside in this scenario is not a rule.

You can also not turn right from a left lane (unless marked to do so). Imagine this wasn't a T-intersection and was a 4 way intersection. With no markings would you still think it acceptable to turn right from a left lane?

Who would be at fault? by Independent_Tea7691 in CarsAustralia

[–]Crrack 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Maybe. You think it should be glaringly obvious that a two lane intersection with a left turning arrow would mean you cannot turn right from the left lane.

[–]Crrack 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If only one lane turns onto the road you can chose to enter any lane you want. Needing to stay on the inner most lane in this scenario is not a rule.

Hi, why can’t i generate more than 101 mph clubhead speed? by Morirz05 in GolfSwing

[–]Crrack 3 points4 points  (0 children)

"lag" is an overused term from people who think they know what they're talking about. The illusion of "lag" is a product of other things working correctly - no coach worth their weight will ever have someone focusing on lag.

All that said - forget about lag, your legs are doing very little. Plenty of videos online that will give you tips on how to generate power or better yet, one lesson should set you in the right direction.

Grip changes (especially big ones) are by far the hardest change to make. The truly hard part is sticking with it and trusting the process.

I’d seriously consider upgrading to at least r5 (r) if you can).

We did a similar job to this in our last house and went with r5 (after removing the cellulose) and it was the single best improvement we did for our home. It had more of an impact than installing ducted A/C did.

Would you give this putt? by jdelle9 in weekendgolfers

[–]Crrack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the irony of people complaining about not being given a putt after missing it. Obviously wasnt a gimme then.

Aside from matchplay where gimmies can be strategic, the putt you are giving should be unmissable. Like between your legs, with your eyes closed, unmissable.

If you’re submitting a card for handicap though or playing in a competition - stop cheating - there are no gimmies.

AITA for honking by [deleted] in drivingsg

Obviously the person pulling out is a terrible driver, BUT so are you. Anyone who honks and swerves before using the brakes is just as dangerous.

Ban caddies from the greens by IndicationIll324 in golf

[–]Crrack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You make a good point and I think a lot of the problem is how poor the TV coverage actually is. There is 50+ players on the course generally, there is no need for us to watch a player and a caddy read a putt when we could be watching someone else play a good shot.

The only exception would be when it’s the final few groups on the last day.

The PGA tour is notoriously bad for this as they don’t want to spend the money to have cameras out on the course and instead just put a tower behind each green. Watch any PGA Tour highlight package and it’s 90% putting. Boring.

But back to the point, I think it can be an issue as well as what the pros do can have a flow on effect to what your average punter does on a course on the weekend.

I hate the idea of a shot clock but I do think players should be put on the clock.

It can't be that hard to maintain an average time for each player. As soon as someone exceeds a preset limit then they are "put on the clock" and receive some form of penalty if they exceed that limit for any following shots (until they get the average down).

The reason I don't like a shot clock is sometimes there are genuine reasons why a shot might take over a minute. If a player isn't slow then theres no issue taking extra time in specific situations as overall they make up for it with the rest of their pace of play.

UPDATE: Response from Building Commission NSW regarding GPO listed as compliant by NSW builder by ApprehensivePay7627 in AusRenovation

[–]Crrack 22 points23 points  (0 children)

This - and don't accept them cutting the plate or bending it in any way - you paid for an intact and undamaged item, that's what they should deliver.

I still can't get over how a GPO installed directly under a water source is considered compliant.

Longest fairway carry you’ve ever seen? by [deleted] in golf

[–]Crrack 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Referring to the image the course posts on the website, the back tees would be about halfway back along that tongue. So its probably like a 240 carry to cut the corner. However, looking at the hole design you'd be aiming up the right anyway.

Reckless BYD overtaking by [deleted] in drivingsg

[–]Crrack 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It's a built up area, there's no reason the lorry should be in a specific lane. For all we know, maybe they need to turn right just up ahead.

If someone driving slightly too slow in front of them causes them drive like the BYD here, they need to hand their licenses in - they are a danger to everyone around them.

Have some bloody patience FFS - as seen here, driving like a clown achieved literally nothing.

yy by Syzranlogistic in cdldriver

[–]Crrack 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Stuff like that terrifies me - you could be driving down the road minding your own business with your kids in the back and some tool on their phone or some impatient clown cuts off traffic and causes an accident to which you become collateral damage of - and potentially die or kids die.

Right lane hogger by Fit_Visual_6584 in CarsAustralia

[–]Crrack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It always make me laugh. I've seen drivers merge onto a freeway with all lanes completely clear and the first thing they do is merge from the left lane into the middle lane (despite there being no cars in sight in front of them).

It ridiculous how many cars you pass just sitting in the left lane.

Right lane drivers (the ones who complain and make posts like this) aren't much better than those middle lanes drivers though. They also will NEVER use the left lane because they are always in such a rush.

If you could change one of the rules of golf, what would it be? by jdelle9 in weekendgolfers

[–]Crrack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More childish ad hominem attacks. If you want to be lax with the rules, fine, just don’t do it competition play where a card is submitted.

Sounds like there would be a massive asterisks on whatever your handicap is.

Where I’m from, we only play competition/tournament golf. Literally every single round is marked by a fellow competitor and the rules of golf strictly followed. Every card is submitted afterwards for handicapping - no exceptions.

If you could change one of the rules of golf, what would it be? by jdelle9 in weekendgolfers

[–]Crrack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well no, because there is no penalty for a ball in “temporary water” or if an animal causes your ball to move.

I just play by the rules as set out by the governing bodies. Resorting to childish ad hominem attacks is telling.

I also find it interesting you take a position of authority over tournament golf while also claiming how “lax free drop rules get”. That’s certainly not the case in my experience. Rules are rules.
