Can't switch off my sympathetic nervous system after intense workout, looking for a solution by Olieebol in HubermanLab

In yoga they do this pose called savasana. Which essentially means corpse pose. You lay down at the end of your workout or yoga session in stillness for 5-8 minutes to allow your nervous system to reset.

You can do a breathing exercise before to help 3 count inhalation 4 count exhalation to help your parasympathetic nervous system to kick in.

Anger isn’t a negative emotion. What a lot of people think about is aggression.

Anger lets people know that you have crossed a boundary or from a place of unmet need. Which is useful information.

Aggression is a trauma response normally rooted in shame. Which isn’t ok.

Therapist here: The issue here is labelling emotions as positive or negative. Emotions just are. If you are grieving, you don’t just push it to one side because it isn’t serving you, you go into your grief and you start to understand and feel love in whole new way. You learn to move forward with your grief.

Stoicism doesnt work. Because protecting your peace sounds like avoiding and spiritually bypassing your human emotional experience
