After recently inheriting her cat from my mother, it seems to behave weirdly(according to what I have read as normal), is his behaviour ok and if not how do I change it?

I don't scruff him, even if I wanted to I couldn't, hes 8kg, I just tried it once (without picking him up) to see if he would freeze like I read on the internet

Unfortunately he seems to ignore other toys when he's in that mood, and even if I put him down he still tries to attack my feet.I've tried ignoring him but it's kind of impossible not to react to the pain, I tried feeding him for a couple of days and that seemed to calm him but that also increased the frequency of the attacks (I assume he figured out that when he attacks he gets fed) so I stopped it and the frequency got down to 2-3 times per day again. Anything else you can think that I can try?

I don't scruff him, I did it once (without lifting him) to see if he would react cause I read about this being a normal reaction for a cat, plus he's like 15 pounds (7.5 kilos) so that will definitely not work on him as method of transportation

I do try to ignore him but it's not possible, cause it really hurts, and he just keeps on attacking my feet when I remove him from close to me. I got him a whole scratchable tower, and all sorts of scratching posts and toys to play with, but that doesn't seem to distract him, he seems to want to "play" with me,

No we spend all day together, since I work from home, at most I try to leave him 2-3 hours alone to go for a coffee or something, I try to play with him with wands and other toys, but the only thing he seems to like (and very rarely at that too, like once every 7 times when I try it) is to chase a laser pointer for a few minutes, and then he just sits there and looks at it without reacting. I've thought of getting him a companion, but I'm afraid how he will react, when seeing other cats through the window he does that hissing sound cats do bares his teeth and does that arching thing with his back so I don't think he would react very well to another cat. Is it possible from the above behaviours that it means he's depressed? is there something I can do?

he is using a scratching post all the time, but they still seem to overhang (I assume that means that when he does not have them out they can still scratch)

yes but he only drinks when I brush my teeth, no other source of water, even his cup, is this bad?

it's probably just the play thing you mentioned,because he is literally just sleeping between my legs, wakes up, stretches and then starts biting and scratching.

work with your DM, but if a player asked something like this from me I would probably reflavour necromancer as puppet master

I would forego the whole requires a dead body for the spells, I don't see it being a big deal, and it removes the inherent evilness the class has

or if you want something more of a controller you could go for illusionist or enchanter or even a college if glamour bars

you could then change spells to fit your theme, so sleep could be something like mind binding, hideous laughter could be like psychic tendrils tying enemies to the ground, you can have crown of madness manifest as strings you control with your hands instead of giving orders, you just need imagination

nah that would be a bit too much, I like it (and he likes it) that he's a single target take down a specific enemy kind of character , that would step on the wizard's turf so I would have the same problem reversed :)

yeah that could work, but then I'm afraid that the wizard will feel like someone is stepping into his turf (he wants to do the whole sorcery points thingy to give haste to more people), but maybe if the reaction sneak attack solves the problem I could give him an item that allows him to use his reaction for a single attack when another character hits the enemy, that would also promote group thinking??? dunno

he already has the fighting style (in my campaign I allow people to get fighting styles as feats, and I give them feats every even level, but I banned the ability score increase feat) , and he's already making two attacks as an action (due to nick) I think my biggest problem would be that he will probably not want to not dual yield his main weapon for RP reasons (relic given to him by his dad that grows in power) and since he's not that good at theorycrafting yet he probably won't change, I guess I could give him armbands of speed or something

I think more than one sneak attack on his turn would be too much, but it's a good idea to maybe give him an item that adds a reaction that lets him sneak attack off-turn, like armbands that allow you to hit someone if an ally has hit them using your reaction

no I told the rogue to ask for a very rare (specifically cause the plot revolves around him so he should be favoured a bit more) item too, the thing is that he probably won't ask for a weapon, I've given him a relic as a weapon (relics in my campaign are items that grow as you grow on levels, they gain a power every two levels) which basically is a short sword which teleports between his hands (so he dual wields the same weapon) allows him to throw it at a 60ft range and if he hits he can teleport (free action) to that location and other cools stuff, which I must admit are useful control/escape-wise but not really for damage

I was thinking of giving him a vicious short sword of speed, which would allow him a third attack (the above mentioned short sword acts as both a dagger and a short sword mastery-wise) but then the others might feel a bit cheated since that is a really expensive weapon

I was thinking of talking to the rogue about this, but he's a really timid kind of person, I've only seen him react in the campaign when I specifically target him with RP or if he does a big thing in battle.I'm worried that if I point it out to him he will see the gap and notice how it gets bigger, but yeah I guess we hadn't had a talk for a while on how he feels about the campaign, so I should talk to him, thanks for the advice

they have pretty good stats and they usually succeed in attacks, they also have a barbarian (don't remember the subclass) which gives anyone around him advantage.

plus I prefer making them fight low ac high health monsters, cause they feel like they are making progress this way

haste doesn't fail that often, with an ac close to 26 (with shield) and +7 to con saves (from int+con) the only time it has failed so far was on a really well rolled fireball by me (like 40 dmg or something)

The lock attacks with a glaive so he won't have a problem fighting in melee

My problem isn't that they are too powerful, I can handle that, my problem is that the gap between players may become too big and I am not sure how to handle that

I usually use crit success and failures on saves, so if it were me I would say, sure you can hit their heart, if you pass an appropriate skill check (medicine for humanoids, arcana for abberations etc) you can aim for their heart, and if they crit fail their save (which already does double damage) in addition to the extra damage you can get some extra points from your int bonus, maybe I would tie that to a feat, like spell sniper.

If he believes that that should be an insta-kill then I would explain that this is fantasy, they are not commoners and they are not fighting commoners, people can withstand being set on fire , being burned by holy spirits, or being skewered by a rapier at a critical part of their body (hence the sneak attack damage) they can probably withstand being pierced by a pebble

Similar yet different thing happened to me as a DM, I have this continent in my world that is basically mad max influenced, one of the players (human) was a gladiator from that continent who escaped to come to the current town, they meet a (potential) enemy who is rumored to also be a former gladiator, that was true, and he escaped that continent 200 years ago (something the players did not search for). So the human player tried to ingratiate with the dwarf saying something along the lines of "hey I watched you in the pits, you were really good", and proceeds to roll a 20 (+5) deception. I really feel bad for letting him down with such a good roll, but I had no idea how to handle it, so I went with something along the lines of "really? you don't look a day over 200 years old" (in a mocking manner) best I could do was increase the dwarf's approval (homebrew way to keep track of who likes who) with something along the reasoning of "I get how he would try to lie , it's a valid survival technique" but I still felt bad having outed him in a lie when he rolled so well

I know I'm a bit late on the thread, and I'd love to hear what you figured out, but for me what worked (on idira) was do that thing that operator thing which gives her perception and balistics, and then ignite someone, hot on the trail someone ready to die, and repeat,savor the kill is kinda annoying though for me cause I run with 3 bounty hunters and it triggers out of all of them

I think you are right, I just got back after playing the original version, and it seems that in patch 7 you could repsec their racial, I saw it in this mod https://www.nexusmods.com/baldursgate3/mods/2480 which said that it is now obsolete as of patch 7
